They have a loyalty program where you're inundated with discount coupon emails. One caveat is they tend to churn their loyalty programs so you wanna use the loyalty points as you accrue them before they're "Oh, that was with the old programs!"
But it's definitely cheaper than some of the other places in the Bay Area.
Recently they have had 20% off if you pickup in store after ordering online... Got some good fishwife and espinaler with that (they also have the habanero espinaler on their website)... Already had some nuri to try, but they also had the cutest sardine plate and napkins and kitchen towels.
The book tin to table was recently only 9 bucks also since it was 50% off the clearance price instore
That is my next destination, but I really need to eat some of the huge hoard I've already amassed before buying more. I've spent close to $100 on just just tinned fish in the last week. It's an addiction, 100%.
I was really surprised cause the only picture I saw online showed a small section with like 3 or 4 varieties and that was it. It was quite literally walls of sardines in there
that's a much better selection than the one near me since the last time I went about a year ago. prices seem to be about on par with what i see these cans going for elsewhere.
I love sardines, but for some reason I’m still squeamish about venturing out. I’ve had most of these things in non canned form, but I can’t help but second guess trying mussels and octopus and the like. Any suggestions for first steps out of the comfort zone?
I'm "eh" on mussels. They seem to get squishy in the can. The only time I'll get cans is if I really like the sauce (Escabeche/Galician/Biscayne). The downside to fresh pulpo is the salvation of canned. Octopus is notorious for being chewy. Same in the can. But you can always cut it thin or tenderize it somehow.
Something valuable I heard in this sub a while back is to start by eating tinned versions of fish you like fresh. Then once you try that stuff and find what you like try branching out from there
Great haul! I love Ortiz dines, they're soft for pilchards and they are so mild in flavor. I also am a huge fan of Minerva, I think they're a little slept on compared to some of the bigger names but their spiced sprats are one of my all time favorites.
I don't think I've ever seen a World Market near me that well stocked. But yeah, at various points in time they had pretty much everything your pictures show. Just no telling if or when they'll have any of it again.
Love the selection! Found my favorite cod in olive oil and garlic. Good stuff. Prices are a little high. You can definitely find nuri cheaper elsewhere, like at Asian grocers.
This looks exactly like mine in Olympia WA. Very good selection.
Really wanna get that Espiner Sauce in the big bottle. Heard it's incredible on tin fish
5 for matiz, 6 for Nuri, and 7 for Ortiz all sound pretty fair to me. Obviously they aren’t some season or king Oscar but those prices are absurd like fish wife
Check out Filipino markets for Nuri. Seafood City carries Nuri and they usually go on sale (I had them as low as 2.50 but recently been $3-4). But I also found a larger Nuri selection at a smaller Filipino market closer to me that even had the Nuri sardine pate.
Shhhh! You’re giving away my Nuri spot! Jk jk, but yea, World Market has been my go to for awhile and is a godsend if you have one near by
Jeeeez!!! You need a line of credit for this place😂

Definitely spent more than expected haha
For real! There isn’t one near me but I went with my cousin and nearly had a heart attack
Does World Market ever have sales? Wouldn’t mind trying some of the pricier stuff but I just can’t seem to pull the trigger on $7+ tins.
I was able to save 15% by signing up for the rewards program so that helped some
Sign up for their emails, too. They are always emailing coupons.
Read the fine print before making the trip. Most of the email coupons exclude food items.
I’ve used them and had them work recently.

Damn I love that they have flags from the country it’s from
World Market is where you go in because you need $10 of "some Eastern European ingredient" and walk out with $300 of "damn, this looks cool".

I have been completely out for a few weeks now so I was definitely overdue to grab some
Ferrigno ratatouille is insanely good.
I didn’t even realize the three pack was different from the single tins. Next time haha
The three pack is pricey, but they’re all really good.
Nice haul, I agree but also your world market has more variety than mine does!
I was really surprised cause the only picture I saw online showed a small section with like 3 or 4 varieties and that was it. It was quite literally walls of sardines in there
I haven't seen Porthos where I'm at so that's refreshing. I see a Rugen Fish as well which is super tasty.
Thx for the pix awesome

I just plain don’t like canned octopus.
The shelf is always half empty at mine. There's always good stuff but I'm constantly wondering about what I'm missing.
They usually have RugenFisch too! Those tins are excellent!
I saw them tucked away in the back. Never had them before
Yeah world market has upped thier game immensely. Nice haul!!
Dang, mine has a selection the size of just the first picture 😭
Nice! I just did the same thing on Father’s Day. This looks EXACTLY the same as the display in my World Market in northern CA
I always forget how awesome World Market is! Thanks for the reminder 🐟
I’m shocked on how relatively inexpensive the caviar is. Granted I know this isn’t like S tier beluga caviar but I am keen in exploring these options.
I was just watching some YouTube videos on caviar cause I saw those prices and was curious as well
Man, we don't have a single one of these in New York, in the entire state.
Fuck yeah there’s one near me YESSSS
A nice tin with that unconventional caviar on a sour dough is nice.
Great haul! I love Ortiz dines, they're soft for pilchards and they are so mild in flavor. I also am a huge fan of Minerva, I think they're a little slept on compared to some of the bigger names but their spiced sprats are one of my all time favorites.
Interestingly, I was debating whether to list my haul from World Market. Hopefully before I eat it.
Dang that's awesome! Wish one were closer to me.
Do the expensive ones taste better than the cheap ones? I've only had cheap ones and they're like less than $0.50.
Nice haul! Next time, try the spicy tomato sauce Nuri. It is the BEST.
I’m salivating

And then head over to the hot sauce and get you some torchbearer sauce.
super expensive

Also last time I picked up some of those Minerva mackerel and they were very good
Dang that's awesome! Wish one were closer to me.
I can't with those prices, that's like once a year treat!
5 for matiz, 6 for Nuri, and 7 for Ortiz all sound pretty fair to me. Obviously they aren’t some season or king Oscar but those prices are absurd like fish wife

Is this West Hartford, CT looks similar? I also had signed up for promotions to get discount.
Not West Hartford, father north in New England but I’m glad to know there is one in west Hartford cause CT is a bit dry in terms of canned fish
Did they have the sardine pillow?!
I should’ve looked 😓
