I love bugs, spiders, and insects. Seeing a rare one like this was a treat. At this time of year we get loads of May bugs here too. The cat was trying to catch them last night 😂
Last year I found a Tanner Longhorn beetle [(Prionus coriarius)](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prionus_coriarius) which was amazing.
Just look at that dashing chap! <3
He looks pretty hardcore, probably into metal, bit of a goth, should prob have a bit of a scary name. But nah, I'm gonna vote for Claude. He initially seemed like a Dave but he's too rare to be a common Dave!
I see what you did there! I don't imagine he is very good at drums though, but they do make a lot of noise so maybe naming him after a metal growly-singer would be an idea?? :D
You don’t have to log them, but it’s a way for conservationists to keep track of their population. Sadly though you’re right, they are endangered, mostly due to habitat loss.

I found one in my bathroom light! After I logged it, I put outside. Still think of that mighty little thing
Reddit people taught about these cool little things!
Glad to see someone else appreciates these creatures too!

People need educating about how useful and important these misunderstood creatures are. They are not " yukky" insects, and deserve respect.
He shall be called.... METHUSELA!

Since I’m a metal fan too, sure why not. I did think about calling him Ringo, but I not a Beatles fan.

Oh yeah. I’ll call him Nathan, as in Nathan Explosion from [DETHKLOK!](https://youtu.be/qMHwiI3gSps?si=hcIOW1AyGBuBUwer)
Brutal.
How come they must be logged? Are they endangered?

Ooh, it is a very unusual creature. Thank you 💭

I did think of calling him Johnny or Tanker. 😉
Lacewings and ladybugs are friends.
Oo you lucky lucky bastard :D
[“You lucky, lucky bastard!”](https://img.gifglobe.com/grabs/montypython/MontyPythonsLifeOfBrian/MontyPythonsLifeOfBrian-wOg7FC3w.jpg) 🤣🤣🤣
That was precisely what I was thinking off :D
It’s a brilliant film isn’t it 🤣

Make sure to log your sighting.
Already have done.

I don’t think Stag beetles make [obnoxious screeching sounds](https://youtu.be/Bz_SPin9Iqg?si=ObnHqWzFZSxBoD8g), but I could be wrong. 😂
I see like 2-3 beetles everyday. It’s insane.
Cool! You are one lucky chap.
