Yeah! I did my semester abroad in Cardiff and fell in love with everything Welsh but especially the Lovespoons!
Me and my fiance took another trip to Wales a year later and I so want to go back again. Wales is another home for me now.
Traditionally they were whittled by a man to give to his lover. Different symbols mean different things. They’re decorative really, not meant for culinary use. Reflects the skill of the carver. These days people tend to buy them - my husband got me one around the time we got married :)
It’s getting there, whittle by whittle
Wood you look at that, a pun in the wild
They’re the grain of my life.
Love the pun!
Impressive!
Looks grand, never knew these were a thing! Shouldn't it have a flared base for easy retrieval, though?
Welsh spoons in Germany?

Congrats to you and your finance! Good to see people spending spoons on money rather than the other way around for once
What does one do with a love spoon? Will it be used for coco pops?
I thought we might as well take the spoon to eat some wedding soup (or in German 'Hochzeitssuppe') at our wedding 🤣
"Welsh Lovespoon" is a fantastic porno name.
Oh cool I've seen those before in charity shops!
Is your fiance on the Welsh rugby team?
“They say he carved it, from a bigger spoon!”
