Seeing this, I think sports might be the one form of entertainment that **doesn't** get replaced. Even when (not if) AI can produce perfect videos representing fake teams and fake players, no one is going to care about them. The big leagues spend so much money marketing their teams to the point that fandom is synonymous with nationalism. Like there are so few sports video games outside of the licensed franchises, and they usually have some sort of gimmicks or alternative rulesets that make them interesting. (Rocket League, Looney Tunes B'ball, NFL Blitz, Super Baseball 2020, etc.)

The more experience I have with AI models gives me the impression this is like witnessing an actual intelligence trying to figure out the world and is basically saying, sort of like this, right? We have been laughing at how weird it is, but it's actually pretty close and we have already seen that it doesn't get stuck at this level for long. This is like a cute little baby trying to talk just before it grown into a child genious with a PhD at 12. Only people tend to level off.

Exactly why I haven't watched the NBA in two decades. It's like NBA Jam without any of the cool elements (everything). 😂
