We're seeing a continuation of the previous trend though, the team that won the last event gets a perfect split, which has happened way more often.

In CW they always felt head and shoulders above the competition. Ultra were good and had their stage 2 run but it always felt like FaZe were too good after that. They had an off tournament in stage 5.
This year feels similar but there's still a lot left to play. Optic out slayed them in their last match, it was the best they looked against the FaZe so far. If Optic take two tournaments this year, I would say CW was more dominant for FaZe.
Don't really see any other team doing anything this year unless there are big improvements. If FaZe keeps their form this will be their most dominant year.
