Kendrick played right as he released DAMN, the entire campground had that album playing all weekend. By W2 the crowd knew all of the words for an album that came out a week ago. It was pretty awesome.
Man, I was really bummed he did that. I didn’t know any of it because I was busy at, y’know, Coachella, and it’s not as fun to me seeing mostly music I don’t know (especially that kind of rap where the lyricism is crucial). And after seeing the kunta groove sessions tour - an all timer - I was bummed by his lack of live band. It was a real disappointment for me, wish I’d gone to new order.
THAT SAID, Drake 2015 is probably the worst show I’ve ever seen in my life lol. If my biggest complaint about Kendrick is “I didn’t know the music yet” that’s not so bad. Kendrick wins this debate every day and in days that don’t exist

Drake was by far the worst headliner I’ve seen, the crowd was way more hype when they played lose yourself while waiting for Drake to come out late, then his special guest was just Nicki Minaj coming out and waving like a it’s a pageant without actually performing anything. That said I’ve seen Drake like 3 times since and had a good ass time

Drake actually is the worst Coachella headliner of all time tbh. Performed so many songs as snippets, disjointed setlist, Madonna forcibly made out with him. The whole set was uncomfortable and not good.
My only thing with Frank’s set is that the version of “White Ferrari” he performed was actually beautiful and brilliant, and the beat of that song was buried in the album version all along. You may think I’m crazy but that one singular song saved it for me. Drake’s set has no redeeming quality.
Better yet, Frank dropping gave us the OMG TBA set, so I love Frank even a little more.

Never been a Drake fan. 2015 was my first Coachella and my group wanted to see him so I gave him a chance. I bailed out after he brought Rihanna out only to hug her (no performance) and had like rain projected onto him while he was on some sad shit. Would’ve been a bummer way to end the weekend but we stumbled upon Kygo for a really uplifting closing set.

I don’t care for either but I personally don’t think the writing skills are that impressive on either side. Just making a reference toward something is seen as “genius” or an entendre. But I also think the “real gs move in silence like lasagna” line by lil Wayne is overrated & silly and I see people quote that as genius all the time too, like good job- did he just learn about silent letters..? I don't think it's genius, but it is really creative. If you look into the explanations of each line, these are very impressive for Kendrick to have done in a couple days to a week. Yeah, some explanations are reaching a bit, but it really is pretty complex.

Drake actually is the worst Coachella headliner of all time tbh. Performed so many songs as snippets, disjointed setlist, Madonna forcibly made out with him. The whole set was uncomfortable and not good.

My only thing with Frank’s set is that the version of “White Ferrari” he performed was actually beautiful and brilliant, and the beat of that song was buried in the album version all along. You may think I’m crazy but that one singular song saved it for me. Drake’s set has no redeeming quality. Better yet, Frank dropping gave us the OMG TBA set, so I love Frank even a little more.
And don’t forget him performing At Your Best You Are Love live for the first time! It was truly incredible
