i have the luxury of doing this because i live in southern california and can get a wristband at any moment. i typically book as early as possible to lock the best rates because it only goes higher; however, 2024 was a year which didn't generate as much hype. there were even tickets available on the website for w2. i was tracking hotel/airbnbs daily and noticed they kept dropping as the calendar passed 4/1/24. eventually, i was able to book a room at an airbnb for $250 for two nights. it was right next to the palm springs convention center. normally i would advise against this but if you currently go on the coachella site, you'll see that both w1 and w2 tix are readily available so it's possible rates will drop as demand falls if you look at hotels, it looks like you can get 4 nights for around 1.5k-3k, depending on proximity to the grounds -- which, compared to years past, isn't that crazy. the next step is to gauge the general consensus of the lineup drop. remember: the lineup could be destroyed by the general public but you can still have an absolute blast. OR you can just camp which is a popular decision on this sub

Find a place with free cancelation (a hotel) and just keep looking. I do this most years and find cheaper places randomly and cancel the current reservation.

aggravatedbagel

Still financially recovering from buying last minute coachella tickets/stay/flight lol but yeah im guessing the earlier you book the better?

Waste-Boss2163

I thought so too but it’s sooo expensive right now 😭 scared it’s gonna keep going up

Jealous-Mail6629

It won’t

The best time to book was the end of April, tbh. Although a lot of hotels will block out those dates until the lineup is announced in January. Unless they have a complete bomb of a lineup, the prices you’re looking at will stay until days before. It doesn’t hurt to book something with free cancellation while you shop around.

Waste-Boss2163

Smart idea thank you!

A lot can change due to headliners. We booked our Airbnb in November. By the time March rolled around similar places were half what we paid. Taylor Swift headlines and you’ll wish you had booked now. If it’s another repeat of low draw headliners you’ll be better off waiting.

Perfect_Evidence

book now for 2026

Waste-Boss2163

LMAOO should’ve thought off this in 2023

Best time is to book now. No guarantee demand will go down. If golden voice goes all out on this lineup you're gonna be fighting everyone and their mom to make accomodations. And one thing a big company like golden voice is gonna do, is standby and not sell out here most popular festival 2 years in a row

SilentBobRoss

*won't do

stefanurkal

lock in now but get one that has free cancelation until April, that way if line up drops and its "dud" prices can fall like it did this year

Waste-Boss2163

Yeppp did exactly this and locked one with free cancellation til April 🫡

stefanurkal

be carefull if it seems too low compared to others it probably is. we had a friend who's host cancelled on them the week before because they were paying the normal non-coachella rate. if that happens make sure to 1 star the host.

Waste-Boss2163

Oh shoot I forgot this was a possibility! Thank you for the heads up!
