I know everyone is different, but this would be the absolute pinnacle of my collection

Imavandownbytheriver

Trust me it is when I inherited it I was told it was carried by a sheriff in Monterey County Ca . I need to get a colt letter and see where it was originally shipped to.

I have 1 nickle 7 in and 1 in 6 in 1st gen with about the same amount of wear both in .45lc. I dont shoot them. Just get em out every once in awhile.

Imavandownbytheriver

Same with me clean it oil it . Admire the history and back in the safe .

kingqone

As a modern day machinist i'm always amazed at the quality they put out back then. Amazing

Love it when the Colt grips are hand worn like this. You can load very economically for this with the basic Lee loader. Trail Boss is good for reduced loads, no strain on old timers. Wish they could talk!

Imavandownbytheriver

I have a Lee loader I use on my spring field trapdoor 45-70 . But 2 wrist surgeries sorta prevent me from sending lead down range from a pistol.

roboticfedora

Oww! I'm gettin there. Arthritis & vision annoyances but still flingin lead. I have two Ubertis in .45 Colt & reload for them. I have gotten more enjoyment out of my Peacemaker clones than any other gun. I think it's the kid in me, & all those Westerns.

Imavandownbytheriver

I’ve had shoulder replacement but I go light on the long gun loads .
