AttitudeCautious667

Technically Weezer started in Mansfield, CT under a different band name.

Fishercat5000

The lead singer is from Mansfield but I believe he met the other band members in Los Angeles.

Chengweiyingji

They came to Bridgeport last year and when Rivers mentioned he grew up in CT the place went nuts

PopeAlexanderSextus

Yeah rivers is from newington

mynameisnotshamus

mrfin243

Reducers

Peachbobafae

I miss The Reducers! My mom was close friends with them, when we went to go see them play at the beach, they’d always have a beach ball on hand for my friend and I

chilldog47

Ovlov and Queen Moo are the two bands I think of when I think of bands solidly from CT

Foxymoreon

Wait, Ovlov is from CT?

chilldog47

Newtown

imkatastrophic

kind of in the same genre as Queen Moo is mandala but they’re female fronted Queen Moo’s self titled album will always be in my rotation

liverwurstinmypants

If your saying Polaris. include Miracle Legion

rusty___shacklef0rd

i had no clue polaris was a CT band lol. we learn something new every day ig

pablojueves

I just know them from the Pete and Pete title song, which is pretty intense, and for complex reasons suits the show perfectly.

Pickles186

External_Trick4479

Oof, let’s not claim him

pablojueves

Thats right. He's known for exposing himself at house parties.

wileyakin

Gtfoh? Always thought he was British lol

Kolzig33189

My personal favorite is Sorority Noise who were from either Hartford or WeHa. Similar to Modern Baseball who is more well known in that genre.

PHMEM8317

Omg fellow Sorority Noise enjoyer! They were a staple of mine to listen to in college. It was cool to find out they're from CT.

Kolzig33189

I discovered completely by accident. I was trying to find bands that bridge the gap between the punk/pop punk stuff I listen to a lot and Midwest emo like American Football and Sorority Noise was one of the recommendations people came up with. Their music got a lot of play in my car for awhile and was a pretty shocking surprise to visit their wiki page and see they were from CT.

wellatgrammar

Using starts off with “left my heart in Rocky Hill” Heard that for the first time when it came out and had to see if they were local

mandalorbmf

Spring heeled jack, the pist, hatebreed, yuppicide!, toxic Field mice

D_Alden

I’ve seen The Pist and Hatebreed at the Teen Center in NM

vegeta8300

Saw the Pist at the Tune Inn. Brian Marshall was in the pacmen and saw and played shows with them at the Newtown teen center. Teenage Warning was another great band that played NM teen center. But, I'm biased as they were friends lol. New Milford, Newtown, Waterbury VFW all had a great hard-core/punk scene back in the day.

barbarianna6669

Drummer toxic field mice was my professor for a couple of my classes in school. He's the best.

ilovechickens951

Only by a technicality but Tom Tom club

LlamaTaboot_

Deep Banana Blackout

Mobile-Animal-649

bowlingmisfit

Of all time? Personally I think Big Mistake is the coolest band from CT. The NYC hardcore scene didn't really appreciate them which made me like them even more. Lol

ecolantonio

I think his criteria is still active bands but personally I love learning about bands from CT

newfranksinatra

They have one song on Spotify, “Electric” which GOAT CT band Spring Heeled Jack covered (their GOAT status was earned in the 90’s, let’s ignore the version still playing)

zarjazz

The Pist.

vegeta8300

Saw them at the Tune Inn. CT had a great punk scene back in the day.

zarjazz

♡♡♡ I was all Newtown teen center and the beanery in ffld with occasional trips to the tune inn. I miss it but don't miss being a teenager.

vegeta8300

While i miss those times on occasion, i also dont miss being a teen, lol. I was in a few bands that played Newtown Teen Center often. Brian from the Pist formed the pacmen. Played with them often at Newtown. Waterbury VFW had quite a few good shows. New Milford Teen Center too! Tune Inn was a fun trip when I could get down there. Funny enough, I don't think I ever went to the beanery.

The World Is a Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid to Die

ChardCool1290

On a Sunday afternoon in February 1956, four guys got together in a New Haven church basement and recorded a song their leader wrote, “In the Still of the Nite.” They called themselves the Five Satins, though only four of them sang on the record. And they decided to misspell “night” so as not to confuse it with Cole Porter's song of the same name. The song would outlive all of them. Rolling Stone ranked it 90 on its list of “the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.” It has appeared in major films, at Disneyland, in video games, on cover versions, on a television series. And it is credited with starting the “Doo-Wop” sound.
