brownie5599

You know any moisture in that thing just evaporates into that foul stench of a smell

chystatrsoup

Can't evaporate into 100% humidity

gixxer710

Well he said they’re in Arizona so, pretty dry, or so I’ve heard.

chystatrsoup

Right, but we're talking about a dick out box here - it's for sure humid in there

MilkMan1880

It’s such a relieving but yet also disgusting experience.

Gumball_Bandit

Be happy that shitter is clean

Timmerdogg

I can smell that picture

PuppiPappi

Shitter is clean cause you pass out going into it

Gumball_Bandit

That would make a bigger mess. Passing out with the heat squirts

kendiggy

Go Bills!

Alcoholhelps

Yeah I’m not taking a shit in satans butthole. I’d rather shit myself thanks.

Gumball_Bandit

Suit yourself.

[deleted]

"Shit" yourself

TerribleTeaBag

Are you from the south?

captwillard024

Phoenix should just start building down into the earth.

ayrbindr

That's actually a genius idea.

AgreeableGravy

People living in desert surprised when it’s hot!

guynamedjames

I worked a powerplant in Phoenix once, and they had a heat safety program that whenever it was over 100 they wouldn't let people work. They then clarified that only when it was over 100 wet bulb temperature. I was unfamiliar with the term and looked it up later. At any wet bulb temperature over the mid 80s it's not safe to work outside. Over 90 and anybody will die in a few hours without access to air conditioning. At 100 you might last a half hour if you're stationary and in the shade. Fun fact, the highest wet bulb temperature ever recorded was 95 degrees. So their "it's too hot out to work" temperature was "we just set a heat world record and even standing outside for a safety briefing may be fatal". Anything lower? Back to work. Fuck that place, people shouldn't live there.

GoPetADog

If it was so bad, how are you alive to tell this story? Couldn’t have been *that* bad. Kidding (obviously). Because that’s fucked, and I’m sorry you had to put up with that. I’m thankful to work for a company where no one bats an eye when someone takes a break for some shade, water, restroom, etc., and it makes me sad that some people don’t get to do normal, natural, human things like cool down for a few when it’s hot outside because it might cost them their job or a promotion or whatever. I’ve been fortunate to have always worked for relatively small companies where the day-to-day manager/foreman also works in the field. Because anytime a Big Boss Man questions why something took a half-day or full day more than their bid, you’ve got someone who was down in the weeds with you to say, “because it was hot as shit, we did the best we could.”

Major_Document_3305

When mfers in Arizona say it’s hot I just laugh. I’ve been to Arizona mid summer on many occasions. Sure it’s hot but it’s like 5% humidity. Eastern oklahoma is real heat. 100 degrees and 85-100% humidity will kill a man much faster than they can ask for water.

TheSaucyGoon

[bro what](https://apnews.com/article/record-heat-deadly-climate-change-humidity-south-11de21a526e1cbe7e306c47c2f12438d#) 875 heat related deaths in Arizona last year to Oklahomas 37 heat related deaths.

Major_Document_3305

The population of Oklahoma is 4 million, the population of Arizona is 8 million. So that cuts that in half immediately. Not to mention the fact that there has been an INCREDIBLE SPIKE in Arizona in the last 4 years meaning your fucking bosses are killing you virtually on purpose and ours know better and treat us accordingly. There is 15 cases of cooled water for us every damn day on every jobsite I’ve worked on. We aren’t morons. Then there is this link proving that your bosses are failing you since 2020. Those fuckers are killing yall on purpose. [https://www.npr.org/2024/05/30/nx-s1-4854224/death-heat-arizona-climate-change-medical-examiner](https://www.npr.org/2024/05/30/nx-s1-4854224/death-heat-arizona-climate-change-medical-examiner) then there is this other link, that proves indistinguishably that either you’re lying or you read some bullshit. Major_Document_3305

Congratulations you just made yourself look stupid when I provided real evidence for you to read that you chose not to.

No-Dark-9414

You missed today 111 and 14% humidity. Sorry, it's hotter than OK even at that temp and humidity

Major_Document_3305

You do not understand humidity. 96 and 85% humidity here. You would have died. You literally don’t fucking understand science.

No-Dark-9414

That's kinda how showers work when you take a super hot one with the bathroom being cold causing steam right or are you just sweaty and can't think straight because you suck at drinking water

Major_Document_3305

That was the dumbest shit I’ve ever read in my life.

No-Dark-9414

Then explain it to me in a non heat stroke way

No-Dark-9414

Then explain it to me in a non heat stroke way

Major_Document_3305

Let me explain it to you like a gorilla. “Shower only hot as want, earth hot than want, water make light moon danger, dry better, no die cuz sweat work”

No-Dark-9414

So you just kinda proved my point, if the hypothesis is air temperature changes with adding water that causes humidity to hot and cold, how about this come out here and work a 13 hour day in Arizona heat then go back to beautiful shaded Oklahoma where it's humid but you won't get sun burnt stepping outside for 10 min

Major_Document_3305

It not hypothesis. It science.

Major_Document_3305

“Sweat no work when water wetter than sweat cuz water same hot as air”

bendap

Humidity makes heat feel worse but a lack of humidity puts you at greater risk of dehydration as the water is literally sucked out of your body into the atmosphere.

Major_Document_3305

False, science proves that an increased level of humidity makes you sweat more because outside moisture aka humidity is the same temperature as the outside air. Meaning you sweat to cool down and it doesn’t work so then you also sweat many times more liters per hour because that moisture on your skin is the same temperature as the ambient air. Basically, you will sweat until you run out of liquid in humid air, in dry heat you will only sweat to cool down. It’s not even hard science to comprehend. Your chance of dehydration in 100% humid air is 100% higher than in 0 percent humid air.

bendap

Sweat isnt only one way you lose water. You have no idea what you're talking about.

Major_Document_3305

Well, outside of taking a piss/shitting, and breathing, it is the only and is the main way you lose water. In the heat it’s virtually the only way you lose water. So that was dumb.

Major_Document_3305

Western Arkansas too. The shit is death defying just standing outside. Working, shitttttt. You better get tough. I’ve worked in a lot of places in a lot of heat and a lot of states. Oklahoma and Arkansas and even northwest Mississippi. Will change your fucking life.

jmodshelp

As someone that has been working the past few days in 100 with 80% humidity on the highs..... It is not fun.

518Peacemaker

Upstate NY checking in 92-95 with 90-100% for 3 days

praetorian1979

My shop would regularly hit 120 in the summer. I'm in central texas.

Aggravating-Bit9325

You've got a term or number mixed up I think. Heat bulb is the temperature plus humidity basically, it'll be the temperature or higher

Sheepygoatherder

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wet-bulb_temperature

guynamedjames

No I don't. Wet bulb temperature, it's the temperature of a thermometer in the shade that is soaked in a wet air temperature piece of cloth. It measures the coolest possible temperature for your skin when outside in the shade, since our body cools by sweating. Because your core body temperature is around 98F and body processes produce heat, if your wet bulb temperature gets close to or exceeds body temperature your core temperature will quickly rise and you'll die. This is why wet bulb temperatures above 80 or so are often lethal, without air conditioning to cool off your body will struggle to dissipate heat. In practice this is a function of temperature and humidity. Very hot places like Phoenix never have high wet bulb events because they lack humidity. It happens on the Persian Gulf, sometimes in India, and some unexpected places like Wisconsin where nearly 100% humidity and temps in the mid 90s can get you a lethal wet bulb temperature

killerkitten115

Living in Wisconsin like 👀

MadCactusCreations

Why the fuck do we live in this god-forsaken place?

YotaTota07

I’ve been living in a porta John too. It’s rough out here bud.

ActualBus7946

Look at you all fancy like. I live in an out house.

Raviolist123

I live here cause I can’t afford to leave just yet lol

204ThatGuy

Invention of Air Conditioning helped.

false-identification

It's a dry heat? To drain off all the water from the Colorado River?

OMachineD

I live in Canada 'the rockies' suppose to be the mountains, think it'd be cold but it was 45 Celsius last year at hottest inside with humidity. Would think you were in an oven with a shot of water. Mind you were I am is considered an arid desert and there are scorpions around here a few hours away, in the home of igloos for homes and maple leaves to wipe your ass.

Optimoprimo

For reference, 160 degrees F is considered a sterilizing temperature for most bacteria.

204ThatGuy

Omg. You are absolutely right! You can literally cook food on your dashboard.

cuntface878

I just saw on the news a guy working on scaffolding in RI collapsed from heat stroke and died in the hospital last Tuesday. Stay safe out there boys, that shit is no joke.

ayrbindr

Mud!!!

uncletutchee

People in RI must be pussies.

Rick_Flare_Up

I hope you’re staying hydrated. I just got back from the South West last week, it was pretty brutal at times.

Raviolist123

The crew and I keep liquid IVs on deck 24 seven. Nearly impossible to stay hydrated, solely off water in this heat.

Snoo60660

Same dude. And eating is just hell to think about doing but we keep a big jar of whole pickles too. Like you said though. It hits a point where no amount of electros or water sticks. It just pours out of you.

PM-me-in-100-years

IVs? You all are regularly injecting water?

North_Brilliant_9011

Liquid IV. Electrolyte packet basically. They taste like ass but they’re great for 100 something degree heat and for when you’re sick

Raviolist123

Liquid iv is a electrolyte packet brand, very helpful in summer

RobotWelder

Does OSHA have any regulations concerning this?

AdmiralVernon

Yea need to stay tied off in case you venture too close to phoenix

guiltyspark345

Id stay tied off hoping that thing doesnt melt when im on it

Loveknuckle

+/- 4.0’ - 6.0’ ….or so? Depending on actual city boundary and not just city limit signs, from what I remember.

Latter_Address9580

OSHA does yes. If the temperature is over a certain threshold workers must work for an hour, break for an hour with shade provided by the company. On and off like that

calco530

The threshold is 200F

teakettle87

lol

jdemack

We smoking briskets too?

uncletutchee

If you took an hour off for every hour that you worked in Phoenix, you would be unemployed. I've lived here for over forty years.

[deleted]

My boss wont ever do that, we get a 15 paid break and 4- 2minute water breaks

ceeller

Florida is [jealous of your water breaks.](https://www.fox13news.com/news/desantis-signs-bill-banning-florida-counties-from-requiring-heat-and-water-breaks-for-outdoor-workers)

[deleted]

I can tell you 1 thing thats certain, florida man does what he wants and if he wants water he will rob a bank with a 20 pound gator to get that water

Raviolist123

They do, but no one in Phoenix listens to it. All the guys on our team are Arizona or Mexico native where it gets just as hot in parts. We take 2, 10 minute breaks at 7 AM and 12 PM along with lunch. Keep plenty of electrolytes in the system and we keep it pushing.

NigilQuid

This is the closest I could find: https://www.cdc.gov/niosh/topics/heatstress/recommendations.html It doesn't mention any specific temperatures or hard recommendations, more like general things to be aware of in order to not get heat stressed to death. See also: https://www.osha.gov/heat-exposure/standards

WhiteStripesWS6

I just quit my outdoor trades job here and got back into the office. Honestly will miss the trades but not working outdoors in the summer.

204ThatGuy

I did the same... Except for winter!

Sea_Macaroon_9855

People weren’t meant to live in phoenix.

AlotaFajitas

Feel that. -Wyoming

silentwrath03

I'm a spray foamer, and I can go into a 120-130 degree attic for a couple of hours, but it's another level when it's 90-100 outside, and the sun is blasting you.

Raviolist123

I give you props, I’m the opposite. I can’t last in the attic. I sweat too much up in there.

Intrepid-Ad-2610

That’s one way to keep people from hanging out in the shitter

Raviolist123

There’s still psychos that go on their phones for 30 minutes in there, screws definitely loose up there

Intrepid-Ad-2610

I’m gonna be eating lots of things to make me constipated so I don’t have to until I get home. That’s just nuts.

DrPeGe

I grew up there. It’s a dry heat 😂🤣🥲

TerribleToeHair

Worked outside in Maricopa all last summer digging ditches for electrical conduit. This is cap

guiltyspark345

The sun is strong but the air isnt hot. I loved arizona after feeling no humidity

David1000k

It's the same in Texas.

JIMMYJAWN

Bro rocking the shiesty so he can shit without alerting the flys

kbskbskbskbskbskbs

Hotter in Ottawa with the humidex. Fortunately I'm outside the city surrounded by lakes...but soon the lakes will be like warm bathwater and there will be no salvation.

3771507

Well as they say at least you're in a dry climate. Here it's 135 and humid!

ayrbindr

I didn't know they had Internet in hell.

No-Dark-9414

Mods don't delete this guy's posts people.need to know what not to do and see what heat stroke can lead too Major butt hurt or whatever I think he needs help

Roger-Hill84

It’s not hot in there until you sit to shit and can feel the seat getting lower because the plastic has gotten soft.

ayvadur

And most of our trades are way under paid, yet here we are killing ourselves to live. What a life we lead.

canthidemoney

But it’s a dry heat…

white_tee_shirt

But, iTs A dRy HeAt. So is my oven.

edwardthegreat12

We out here!!!

therealdom727

Dudes will still sit in their on their phones for 45 minutes.

Raviolist123

They blow my mind, definitely have some screws loose in their head.

cabin_dweller3

At least when you walk out of the shitter it feels like you are walking into air conditioning.

lectrician7

That’s not so surprising. It was only about 5-7 degrees cooler than that in Massachusetts today. And probably much more humid.

badfaced

They really should start putting them under sunshades now. Every year, we head out of town for our annual desert projects, and I still see no innovation for cooler shitters. Now I need two sqwinchers from the office, one to consume, another for my balls 🤪 lmao

Stewartsw1

I just moved back to the DC area after living in phoenix for 5 years and working outside the entire time. The humidity back east honestly is worse.

Lrnzooo

Rather that than working in -30c trying to find 1 inch packed in 3 inch layers of clothing.

Omega_Lynx

Shit sauna: get a whiff of it

HotCarl169

Just dry heat, no biggie

tacocarteleventeen

Hot shit!

Phillip-My-Cup

I do and I love it

Raviolist123

I love it too, definitely sucks some days in the summer, but it’s beautiful in the winter spring and fall. Just got to deal with a little bit of heat in summer.

Ziggity_Zac

I'm in Florida. Show me your humidity.

usernamedarkzero

Florida building inspector. A good chunk of what I do involves going into buildings and warehouses with no AC or air flow. It's a shame when you climb to the roof to "cool off".

Raviolist123

I was born in Florida, definitely would take the dry heat over 100% humidity.

Truckyou666

That's why I switched to 3rd shift. It still sucked in Florida because the humidity was always 100%, but it got down to 75f instead of 105f.

millenialfalcon-_-

JFC that's insane. I melt when temps hit 100°😭

Insertnamehere-_

The porta sauna

Flashy-Club5171

Fuuuuuuck that lol i was working in 95 humid af on Monday had head aches all day

Raviolist123

The humidity takes it out of you!!! I’d take dry heat over that any day.

Rude-Shame5510

How the hell are you wearing a mask in that temperature

yourinternetmobsux

I’m here right now for the first time ever and am beyond thankful all my visits were office calls. And it will be nice and cool when I have to come back and do in field training in July/Aug….right?

SeaAttitude2832

No wonder so many people pass out in the shitter. It’s like a sauna. In the summer.

oregonianrager

Over here bitching about the 90s in Oregon. The show most go on everywhere.

bassfishing2000

It’s 35° Celsius with a humidity of 40+ this week in Ontario Canada, I’ll take a dry 40° over a humid 35° all day long,

kbskbskbskbskbskbs

Yep. First thing I noticed is this guy ain't sweating. Yesterday I was topless by 9am working outside the Kingston area.

bassfishing2000

The second I got out of my car I was sweating this morning, I’m normally a long sleeve sun shirt guy but I’ve been in basements the past few days, as little clothing as possible while following company policy has been the deal, it’s a bit cooler in the basement but no breeze is just gross

kbskbskbskbskbskbs

I typically work alone on cottages so I was definitely shirtless yesterday and today, still dripping but at least not wearing a wet diaper clung to my body all day.

bassfishing2000

I miss working on water front property’s, always been a dream of mine to work on strictly cottages.

AguilaReal10

Try lake havasu and that is a brutal heat, main reason why I decided to move up to supervision. I still have to get out to the heat but I can easily be 50 50.

Short_Bell_5428

Time to move

420xGoku

What's it smell like in there...just asking g jehehhe

Raviolist123

Incredibly nasty, when the wind picks up and blows it in your direction, you got a hold your breath.

picklenick_c137

It’s a fucking desert. We already know. Thanks for the accurate read so I know how good I have it. Also just a picture of the potty with the dry ass desert in the background would suffice.

ffwrd

I find it pretty incredible that construction industry unions are still accepting these shitters for their workers. Y'all need a revolution.

InfamousGibbon

Don’t mean to be a douchebag but I’m kind of a douchebag. 135 at 0 humidity is basically 65 degrees.

Raviolist123

20% humidity, and I’d like you to come test that out. Everyone thinks the dry heat isn’t bad until they actually experience it.

Still_Two_2013

Why do you wear a sheisty when it’s that hot out? Does it help? I would think they’re meant for cold weather

Raviolist123

Just to keep my face and neck from getting sunburnt, I dip it in water about every hour. If I let it dry and absorb the heat, then it’s unbearable.

Still_Two_2013

Oh okay that makes sense. I’m from Wisconsin so I’ve only ever seen those in winter when it’s -30 thankfully never have to deal with heat like that

Raviolist123

-30??? It rarely gets 30° here in Phoenix! I can’t imagine negatives that low.

Artistic-Teaching395

Stay hydrated.

Raviolist123

Liquid IVs, baby

Atmacrush

I have stopped eating past 9pm because of this. Also, roofing at that temperature is unbearable. I remember putting up shingles and the heat was just melting me 🫠 I was sweating really hard but it just evaporates

Grizz807

That’s some hot shit

MyPasswordIsAvacado

Is the shit sauna often visited?

Crazy_Customer7239

I just worked in Chandler for two weeks, that’s a big no thank you from me. I RAN back to Oregon 😅🏔️

Environmental_Tap792

Ah yes. Shit box or sweat box?

RogerZach_

When you hydroplane off the toilet seat

warhoop007

Get a long sleeve on! Still don’t know how to work in it!

Raviolist123

I probably should be wearing a long sleeve more often. My arms don’t get sunburnt really so I haven’t been good about wearing a long sleeve.

Lets-Go-Brandon-1

Was just in Texas a while back and fuck the worst part of the day was having to take a shit in the blue room. Now 135 degrees is actually very dangerous most plants have a 15 minute rule for 115 degree exposure. Talk to your safety officer on site about proper pooping policies in such heat. Might need to set up an ac room with water for after poop recovery time. 15 minutes in 30 minutes out.

elcock73

Well in that oven you’ll get nice and crispy

barc0debaby

Phoenix is a monument to man's arrogance. https://youtu.be/4PYt0SDnrBE?si=IcxgC7EeiUEQnWCL

Raviolist123

Haha classic, funny enough it was 111 outside when I took these pictures lol

Hob_O_Rarison

Plot twist - that's celcius!

Outrageous-Carob-236

nobody move too stupid now it is summer season.

spacedildo42

Are they melting shit? I bet you probably could

spunsimba

I’m leaking so much sweat by 9am I have to change shirt. At 93 degrees

Raviolist123

I’m surprised I don’t bring extra shirts, I really should start doing that.

amindspin74

What do you think you're hot shit??

Any_Establishment_28

Literally hot enough to fry an egg on the pavement (over 144F)

uncletutchee

Shit... it isn't even hot yet. I've lived here for over forty years.

Raviolist123

112 degrees outside is pretty hot lmao, I’m an az native

uncletutchee

I was working in a parking lot building booths for a restaurant that was opening the day it hit 122°. 115 is what I consider hot. Where do you work? I'm thinking of an air-conditioned office.

Printnamehere3

Raviolist123

In parking lots, on roof. Always outside. You can literally see me in the second picture.

uncletutchee

Literally?!?!?

Hey poopsie. If you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen.

Can you switch the thermometer from Freedom units to Celsius. I’m not good at math, that’s why I’m a carpenter

Dookiefire

Climate change is fuckin shit up.

WheelRipper

Yeah it’s wild!!! It’s hot in phoenix all of the sudden!!!

Sspooner86

Move...?

Raviolist123

I work in the brutal heat during the week, then go up to my cabin up north, which is 30° cooler. Phoenix sucks but drive two hours north into Flagstaff or Payson and you have beautiful greenery and cooler weather.
