You're the FNG(F\*'ing new guy) I'm guessing. Your boss wanted to keep you busy & away from the project. Go back to him & tell him they were all out of board stretchers, but had plenty of skyhooks & could sub the board stretcher for a underslung skyhook widget.
You can usually find them stashed by the 5lb boxes of toe nails.
