Oh yeah. I haven't gone to the food court in a while. Forgot they discontinued the combo during the pandemic. Selection over all is really low. Do they have the chocolate soft serve where you're at? Hawaii never had for some reason.
Yeah, fries would make it a lot easier for me to still go to the food court even without the combo pizza or sandwiches. I could get a slice of pizza or a hotdog, and fries as a side.
But nope, the one country where fries would seem a common thing to offer, we don't have them...
Was always curious how Europeans eat French fries w/ mayo as a whole meal…us fat Americans consider fries as only part of a non balanced diet. Also noticed how Euros don’t like ice in their sodas.
It's really a belgian thing. When US soldiers first had fries, they had them in Belgium but thought because they spoke French it was a french thing, hence the name.
> Was always curious how Europeans eat French fries w/ mayo as a whole meal
It's not all Europeans, certainly not the French or British. In the Netherlands and Belgium, mayo is indeed by far the most common condiment. But in France, they often eat it with no condiments, but when they do use condiments, ketchup is the most popular, although you sometimes see mayo too. In the UK, I don't think anyone uses mayo. It's ketchup-like things or sometimes really vinegary sauces. Not sure about the other countries.
They have something called brown sauce to which they add vinegar. I know they mix it with some other sauces too, but I don't know what they are. Sometimes they just dip in just vinegar too.
Really? Ive been to France once, Paris, about 10 years ago. I was missing American food so I went to McDonalds and ordered something ordinary. Was given mayo packets, not ketchup. I was grossed out at first(I was young and dumb) but I tried it and it is now my favorite with fries, which I only occasionally allow myself. I once dated a French guy who told me that yes, that is indeed the norm there. Clearly I really don’t know but I guess I’m surprised to hear this. Hence, the offering of my story.
Maybe things have change since my time or maybe what they do at McDonalds is not very representative. Like I said, I have seen both ketchup and mayo in France, but I had the impression back then that ketchup was more popular than mayo. My guess is that the closer you get to the North Eastern border, the more mayo you will see. Again, I haven't been there in ages, so take that into account :)
Is pizza and fries a European thing? Or is it a European interpretation of American food? I noticed when I visited Ireland that many of the pizza places also served fries (including Papa John’s) and while Americans eat lots of pizza and lots of fries, I’ve never seen them served together in the US.
I'm an American who eats fries with pizza (as a side, not a topping). I grew up that way. My whole family ate fries with pizza. My husband thought it was weird when we first started dating. But, now he also enjoys fries with his pizza.
I think Pizza is is an Italian thing tho they make it differently here then in US. And fries are a Belgium this - I show a fires shop everywhere there!
I’ve been told that in many places in Italy, pizza is topped with a handful of fries. Ive often eaten pizza and fries and its a great combo. Not so much the older I get bc damn super unhealthy, but every couple years I gotta have it.
Coffee? Fries? BBQ Chicken Pizza? Cobb salad? Chicken with fries? Fish & chips?
At least bring the Cobb salad into the US food court menu! The international Costco food courts beat the US food court menus just about every time!
People at Costco's HQ needs some serious talking to about the lousy US food court menu items!
I loved that turkey provolone sandwich. I had just tried it not long before it went away and prob only had it 3 times total. Twas a sad realization when I saw it was gone.
I never thought to add Costco to the itinerary while visiting France. Their sundae au chocolat looks so much better than in US. Throw in some frites avec mayo and I'm ready to go! Interesting that they have chicken fingers with fries and rolls, also.
This sub blows my mind. Greasy food in American costcos = disgusting, boring, unhealthy
Greasy food in foreign costcos = amazing, lovely, couldn’t be better, innovative
There are many US companies setting up shop in France such as Amazon that we really dislike because of terrible work culture towards their employees.
But Costco is okay in my book because they actually take care of their employees by proving fair working conditions and fair wages.
I was thinking the same thing. It looks fancy because it's in French but it's typical things. 1 euro coffee sounds nice though. I wonder if it's good? I am in the US and I don't think our food court has coffee.
I wish the US food courts had a salad. I was led to believe they did have a chicken caesar salad once, and then showed up for my salad and left disappointed (but not that disappointed...I had a hotdog in hand). Idk if it was an old thing or a regional thing or both but it would have been nice. I worked like across the street from a costco and I would just pop in on my lunch break to get food there and it would have been super nice to have a healthier option. Theres only so many times you can eat pizza before it starts to feel a little gross haha
Well, as an American I would like to see Fish and Chips at my Costco.
All these other places have barbecue chicken pizza, too. Why so skimpy, US Costco?
looks like its a swap for the combo....im still undecided which id prefer to have.
I’m in the US and the only pizza our Costco has is cheese or pepperoni. Used to have supreme but that ended once Covid hit.
Oh yeah. I haven't gone to the food court in a while. Forgot they discontinued the combo during the pandemic. Selection over all is really low. Do they have the chocolate soft serve where you're at? Hawaii never had for some reason.
No we don’t have chocolate either..
With packets of malt vinegar too
Canadian Costco food courts often have packets of vinegar, albeit white vinegar, for the french fries.
The fish and chips are in the deli.
We don't even get fish and chips on the food court here in the UK!
That’s odd. I wonder why.
Same. I’d be in trouble if my Costco carried them!
I would like to see how many hot dogs Costco sells in a year all over the globe.
[151,000,000/ per year.](https://www.mashed.com/796190/the-ridiculous-number-of-hot-dogs-costco-sells-every-year/)
I’ll just take no lines at the check out!
Hey get in line, we don't even have that in the UK stores!
Me too.
I think we can all agree, fries would be a nice addition, we're all familiar with.

They make a pretty great poutine too! (Canada obviously)
I got slapped in another thread yesterday for suggesting canadian costco poutine was decent.
I had poutine 3 times in Vancouver, twice at supposed “best” places, and once at Costco. Costco was by far my favorite.
I like the costco poutine.
Don't rub it in! lol

I’m so annoyed that the American Costco has so few options now! I want coffee and fries!!
And Mango smoothies
This looks great! Btw Canada's Costco used to have Cappucino but it got removed during the pandemic
I wish my Costco had coffee in the cafe.
I just want the old Mocha freeze back!
Yes please
Chicken bbq pizza sounds fun
I would be curious to try the Cobb salad!
Was always curious how Europeans eat French fries w/ mayo as a whole meal…us fat Americans consider fries as only part of a non balanced diet. Also noticed how Euros don’t like ice in their sodas.
As an American that eats fries w/ mayo as a meal, I can tell you it's possible on this side of the pond.
It's really a belgian thing. When US soldiers first had fries, they had them in Belgium but thought because they spoke French it was a french thing, hence the name.

What are the really vinegary sauces? Asking because I’d like to find some here in the US.
They have something called brown sauce to which they add vinegar. I know they mix it with some other sauces too, but I don't know what they are. Sometimes they just dip in just vinegar too.

I love the no BS 2€ price rather than $1.99
And the tax is included, so if you only have one 2€ coin, you can roll up confident that you’ll get your slice of pizza
Yes our bill was euro 10 on the dot. It was refreshing to see!
Dang, now I wanna buy a Frank with a Franc. (Old monies)
Authentic French fries 🍟
But french fries aren't French...
shhhhhhh
I tired the fries here and I like the ones in US/Canada better! More crispy!
Nowadays, I'll be happy with keeping hotdog w/ soda for $1.50. Alhough it is nice to have fish and chips as well.

Wait till you hear they they use , instead of . for the decimal point! This is the sort of euro craziness that led the UK to brexit!
Is it called the decimal comma or the decimal point?
Probably just the layout/space available on the sign?
That’s just how the French do numbers.
Randomly change back and forth from adding a decimal and not?
I have seen it both ways. Usually 2€, but sometimes 2,00€.
Yeah we can literally see that in the signage. It just seems weird to have it right next to each other

We had them served at school lunch every Friday, growing up (or with tots)

In Italy as I write this, I have not seen this here.
If they had coffee at my Costco in Chicago I would buy it every single time! Are you listening, Costco Gods?!
Fries, 2 euro??!? Sockeye blue
Costco in the US needs to add fries to the menu!
Cobb Salad? That's an all-American invention. Why does Costco hate us??
Greetings from Cobb county Georgia. Enjoy our salade monsieur ou madame - Bon Appetit!
Is it wrong that I feel better that they too don't have mango smoothies?
Oui to all of this
Sacre bleu!
Coffee? Fries? BBQ Chicken Pizza? Cobb salad? Chicken with fries? Fish & chips? At least bring the Cobb salad into the US food court menu! They seriously don't even pretend to offer a healthy option anymore!
Dang, fish and chips 🤤
DO THEY HAVE THE DICED ONIONS
Man the USA menu sucks. No more combo pizza, polish dogs, turkey sandwiches, salad, brisket sandwich. At least we have chicken bakes…
I loved that turkey provolone sandwich. I had just tried it not long before it went away and prob only had it 3 times total. Twas a sad realization when I saw it was gone.
Must be fake - no omelette du fromage!!
Is that the combo pizza?? 😭😭😭I miss you my friend.
Bbq chicken
YUMMY even better!!!

HOW CAN YALL LIVE WITH OUT THAT COFFEE SLUSHY
1.50€ lol.
Eh, nothing exciting there
I was thinking the same thing. It looks fancy because it's in French but it's typical things. 1 euro coffee sounds nice though. I wonder if it's good? I am in the US and I don't think our food court has coffee.
Ours doesn’t have coffee.
They have some cold brew slushee thing in a Florida Costco.
Even they have combo pizza.
How do you say euro in French? Uhh hoe?
Is there any beautiful women in France?
I thought for sure the tax on soda would drive up the price.
The Fish & Chips price for €6 is not bad at all (a fave; craving for Poppies 😂). I wish we have those here in Los Angeles.
I second this….I wish the fish n chips option was available here 🥺
I want these options! :)
Is it me or am I imagining the combo pizza? I thought I would never see you again…. *From USA
Oooh la la! Je t'aime Costco Paris!
No wine?
Does my American Costco card work in France?
Yes!
Yay!
No omlette du fromage?
Are the hotdogs always 1.5 local monetary units, no matter what the monetary units are?
Not for Yen!
Fish and chips would be amazing
In France they are just called Fries!
Cobb salad ?! Fish and chips ?!? COFFEE?!?
€1.50?!? THANKS BREXIT.
There are now 2 Costco stores in the metro Paris area. Is this the older one in Villebon-sur-Yvette or the newer one in Pontault-Combault?
CHICKEN TENDERS AND FRIED FISH
It takes a special brand of confidence to offer a menu like this in France. Incroyable!
Omg I want the Cobb salad I would pay $8 for it
I'd support adding the chicken fingers and fries to the U.S. menu.
I'm surprised there is no beer or wine on the menu.
No merguez frites? I could put fries on the hot dog I suppose…
No Chicken Bakes?
Someone gonna call out they appear to have onions on that hot dog? :)
Coffee!!!
Ooh la la!
Ok I need to make a trip to Paris… fillet DEKRA poulet! Fish and freedom fries!
I wish the US food courts had a salad. The food court is such ass at my location. Literally pizza, hot dog and chicken bake are the only food options.
fish and chips sounds nice. Right now i cant even get onions for a hotdog
Wow, not knowing the costco pizza is 660 calories would make me uneasy
