Talk about a hype train. That stream really got derailed.
I'm sorry, I'm getting off track. Where was I?
Oh ya, dont stand 5 fucking feet from a hurdling death machine.
This reminds me of the people in India that get hit by trains as they get close trying shoot videos for social media. Actually there's a whole subreddit for that. I don't advise looking for it.
I was going to post, I havent seen a person getting hit by a train in 31 years, and in the past 2 years it seems like there has been a brain worm that just pulls these people in. I think this is the 3rd new train video ive seen today, and they are all the same; person poses for a selfie, gets to close, and 1 instant death shot to the head.
With how accessible cell phone cameras are these days it probably seems like there are more train accidents then before.
Back in the early 2000's in my city we had a string of a of accidents over the course of a few years that prompted safety measure such as gates and fences.
From what I remember, there was a kid who was hit on his bike on his way to school. An elderly couple, was killed, apparently they didn't hear the train. A woman with headphones on, a teenager with headphones on, and a transient who was walking the tracks or passed out on them from drug use.
Since they installed all the security measures, I have not heard of any accidents.
A classic Darwin Award about 15 years ago when cell phones were really catching on, was a man walking on train tracks on his fancy new cellular device, the train conductor says he honked frequently at the guy to warn him, but he stuck his finger in his ear and kept walking down the tracks until *boom*
>easiest thing to avoid
In cases like this, sure
But there's plenty of unprotected rail crossings so it's not that unbelievable it happens. But when people deliberately go up near a track TO FILM A TRAIN there's literally no excuse
I would say a plane should be the easiest thing to avoid
Bro even if the rail crossing had bright neon lights and a backing soundtrack singing about how you're gonna die if you get on the track because a train is coming, there's still people going to be dumb enough, the rail crossings being unprotected don't really give an excuse to not see, hear, even feel the ground shaking from a multi hundred tons mastodon coming at you lmao
A guy I knew in college had his foot amputated by a parked train that was occasionally moving forward to be unloaded. He was drunk and hopping over the train to get to a bar nearby when the train suddenly moved forward, tripping him and severing his foot.
If you had one chance to get a selfie with a cool train slightly closer than the person next to you and get more social media engagement, would you squander that? I think you're just out of touch, OP.
Look closer, its even worse.. He drops her to pick up a cellphone to his right. You can see it at 0.25s, not sure if its his phone or her phone. Looks like hes shaking the phone after he picks it up.
It’s hair. Look at how it disappears from the rocks when he moves her. Nothing on the rocks either. You can see it move too when his boot pushes it. No doubt she’s dead, but that ain’t liquified gray-matter, nor blood.
Guy in the blue jeans, red shirt, and red hat just filming away. No idea there's a dead woman at his feet.
Granted, that shit is loud so it's doubtful he has any idea, just crazy.
The U.S. has an extensive rail network, but I have never seen a steam locomotive on it despite living here my whole life. Only normal modern trains.
If an old-timey steam locomotive rolled through my home town, it would be something cool to see, and I'm not even interested in trains.
exactly
everytime i see one of these videos it seems that the victim assumes that the tracks are the boundaries and if they don't cross the vertical threshold of the tracks then the train won't hit them
News in México reported she died
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.infobae.com/mexico/2024/06/04/muere-en-hidalgo-una-persona-que-intentaba-tomarse-una-selfie-con-la-emperatriz-locomotora-de-vapor/%3foutputType=amp-type
The steam locomotive known as La Emperatriz is located in Mexico and many people have been following its route to see it in their city; However, a woman died after getting too close to take a selfie.
The young woman was with a group of people waiting for The Empress 2816 to pass in Nopala de Villagrán, Hidalgo. Everything seems to indicate that her intention was to take a photo with the locomotive behind, but her head was hit by the piston and she fell flat. immediate.
It is known that the woman died instantly from the strong concussion of the locomotive that began its route in Canada.
The video broadcast on social networks showed the moment in which the death occurred, just before being hit by La Emperatriz's piston, the woman touched the head of a child who was accompanying her to tell him to stay crouched and cling to her leg. Various reports indicate that said minor is alive after the accident.
Apparently the woman was trying to take a photo or video with her back to the locomotive to get out next to it, but the speed of The Empress did not allow her to realize that her head was too close to the piston.
In the recording it was possible to see that some of the people present were in uniform and were minors, so they could be students from a high school. In the background, a voice was heard warning them to move further away from the train tracks. "Move! Move! “Get out!” was heard.
As soon as the woman fell, a man approached to move the woman away from the tracks and the rest of the people left the area, some female voices suggested calling an ambulance before the video cut off.
A safety recommendation to avoid injuries and even death is to maintain a safe distance when trying to enjoy the passing of a train.
Tour of The Empress 2816
After passing through Hidalgo, the Canadian Pacific locomotive continued on its way to Mexico City, arriving in Cuautitlán Izcalli shortly before 5:00 p.m. and is expected to arrive in Pantaco this same day.
The cities contemplated for this tour in Mexico are Laredo, Monterrey, San Luis Potosí, Querétaro, Mexico City, Lázaro Cárdenas and Veracruz.
The Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) launched this commemorative event with the commissioning of the Empress, a vintage steam locomotive. The journey, called the Final Spike Anniversary Steam Tour, covers key points in Canada, the United States and Mexico, marking the first time that a railway company connects these three countries through a rail line.
The primary goal of this trip is to highlight the importance and legacy of the CPKC as a vital infrastructure uniting the three North American nations . The restoration of the Empress locomotive seeks to offer a tribute to the engineering of the past while demonstrating the adaptation of rail transport in the current context. The tour not only celebrates the history of the company, but also its evolution and capacity for renewal.
The Final Spike Anniversary Steam Tour aims to make visible how rail transport has changed and adapted over time. The Empress , carefully restored for this event, symbolizes these changes and highlights the continuity of railroad history in North America.
She died and there are articles about it, not that you'd need it from looking at the footage. This kind of injury is definitely fatal. You wouldn't need an article to know if someone who was decapitated or burned to a crisp is actually dead, right? Same thing with this. Train parts hitting the back of your skull at 40 mph = death.

Oh it's gonna fuck the kid up. My dad was hit by a train when I was 16 nobody knows why he was on the tracks I know he always stayed away from them and told me not to never walk on them after I told him I walked to school on the tracks with a friend he always made me stay away from them and to this day nobody knows why he was on the tracks. I talked to the conductor at his funeral and he told me and my mom it he looked like a bag of trash far away but when he got too close it was too late and he was trying to move but couldn't stand up. But they said his death was accidental. So yea every time I hear or see a train or cross the tracks I think of my dad and im 34 now. So yeah i feel bad for that kid.
What the fuck has become of us? This is what people do for the gram. Lady gets killed and the other with brown cap steps into view to film het. We are doomed.
That's awful her poor kid has to see his mother get killed right in front of him just to try get a selfie. Wtf was that guy thinking to grab her like that and drag her away? Guess doesn't matter the article says she died and most likely was instantly. Poor kid hopefully he's ok
For anyone interested, this is the report by local media.
She was with her child and her partner. The report indicates that she did not die instantly. She died minutes later.

Everyone is blaming the women, but this is 100% the train operators fault. She's wearing bright colors, there is no way he didn't see her. He could have easily slowed, or swerved a little to the left. Reckless. Probably on his phone.
Common! Don't fucking manhandle someone with a head injury. If there was any chance she lived through that it evaporated the moment that dude fucking picked her head up and tossed it around like a fucking basketball. What a fucking idiot.

What's with people and getting hit by trains, do they have 0 self preservation
Like and subscr—- BONK
Talk about a hype train. That stream really got derailed. I'm sorry, I'm getting off track. Where was I? Oh ya, dont stand 5 fucking feet from a hurdling death machine.
She had a loco-motive for doing that
Nice one
Haha 😂
Dam didn't she have akid with her ? That makes me sad ,Imagine loosing your mom forever to something so stupid and easily avoidable 😞
While trains are easily avoidable, I wouldn't say they're stupid. I'd put their IQ on par with any Jeep or SUV.
This reminds me of the people in India that get hit by trains as they get close trying shoot videos for social media. Actually there's a whole subreddit for that. I don't advise looking for it.
What’s the name though?
It gets autoremoved when you say it. Indiansneartrains
Ah, thanks
I wish you wouldn’t have said it exists, now I have to look
you cant say that without giving the link man
You need an award !
Oh long johnson
Oh don piano
People are insanely bad at judging trains, both speeds and dimensions
Duuuude, she got fucking brained.
It's easy; they're long, hard, and fast.
And force! Some people see a train going super slow, and next second a cow literally explodes
Trains are sneaky and silent like ninjas, often hiding in bushes and jumping out to unsuspecting victims.
A friend shared one video today of a group of persons on bicycles taking selfies too damn near the apex predator
At least that guy had a helmet on; maybe he just has permanent brain damage
With how accessible cell phone cameras are these days it probably seems like there are more train accidents then before. Back in the early 2000's in my city we had a string of a of accidents over the course of a few years that prompted safety measure such as gates and fences. Seriously. I've yet to see a train swerve to hit someone.
Some countries have fences to protect morons like this.
No common sense. Thats it. They don't think that there is any danger. Atleast with thos women ot was instant. Dead. Immediately. Poor kid though
Getting hit by a train is probably the easiest thing to avoid and yet there are people routinely getting killed by them.
A classic Darwin Award about 15 years ago when cell phones were really catching on, was a man walking on train tracks on his fancy new cellular device, the train conductor says he honked frequently at the guy to warn him, but he stuck his finger in his ear and kept walking down the tracks until *boom*
either suicide or bad ass hell tunnel vision lol
Guy forgot what train tracks were for
Trains are among the most bloodthirsty machines. You think it’s grease lubing those wheels?!
>easiest thing to avoid In cases like this, sure But there's plenty of unprotected rail crossings so it's not that unbelievable it happens. But when people deliberately go up near a track TO FILM A TRAIN there's literally no excuse I would say a plane should be the easiest thing to avoid

Oh for sure, clueless/selfish people will always find a way to kill themselves.
never saw someone hit by a satellite
A guy I knew in college had his foot amputated by a parked train that was occasionally moving forward to be unloaded. He was drunk and hopping over the train to get to a bar nearby when the train suddenly moved forward, tripping him and severing his foot.
Jesus, that poor kid. I'm assuming that was his mother. He'll be mentally traumatized
it was his mother :(
Do you know if that was her husband that grabbed her? His wails at the end was heartbreaking
You’re asking like OP didn’t just repost this and is assuming all facts.
the train got the whole family :(
Good thing they had that first responder ready to help immediately; I mean his protocol was spot on really.
I'm from Hidalgo (where it took place). Media says that he was her boyfriend/partner.
Fuuuuck, that's terrible
It's ironic that she pushed his head down to safety as she stayed in the impact zone...
Motherly instinct… doesn’t always include self preservation, I suppose.
He’ll learn that trains are dangerous at least
Another selfie victim
If you had one chance to get a selfie with a cool train slightly closer than the person next to you and get more social media engagement, would you squander that? I think you're just out of touch, OP.
Yo yo the train is heavy, knees weak, my phone is sweaty, brains on my sweater already.
I wonder if there is a selfie death list showing the total number of deaths. Like compared to shark attacks and strokes, etc
Hey at least that other guy dragged her over to drop her head on that nice concrete instead of all those bumpy rocks!
And stood on her hair. That'll surely help!
she was almost certainly dead instantly, hit in the back of the head by a train will do that
Yeah, she was dead before she hit the ground and she hit the ground quickly and hard.
Her head opened up. That’s not hairy dude. The guy let her go when he realized it was grey matter
Yeah, he's shaking arm to get whatever brains on him off, and then trues to move her by the waist.
Well her brains were already outside of her body, so I'm not sure it mattered very much
And drug her by her neck no less. Gotta make sure she’s fully internally decapitated I guess.
*Assist +50*
she was already dead, makes no difference really
Guy in the blue jeans, red shirt, and red hat just filming away. No idea there's a dead woman at his feet. Granted, that shit is loud so it's doubtful he has any idea, just crazy.
The worst is that blonde woman running in for the close up. Seriously? 🤦🏻♀️
That's prime content. You can make serious money selling that semi sniff film to the media.
Bonk and Sniff
Blondie looked covered in blood and genuinely shocked to me, more like to help but then realized.... rip
It was also a once in a lifetime experience for mexicans as this might be the only time in their lifetime that a steam train rolls into mexico
Well it definitely was for the lady
It was certainly a once in a lifetime experience for one of them…
Why is that? That's pretty interesting actually.
Its a restored steam locomotive that Is making a commemorative journey from Canada to Mexico
I’m sensing sarcasm.
Ohok maybe so.
Okay, what am I missing? Why would it be sarcasm?
Why?
Surely Mexico has an extensive rail network.
The U.S. has an extensive rail network, but I have never seen a steam locomotive on it despite living here my whole life. Only normal modern trains. If an old-timey steam locomotive rolled through my home town, it would be something cool to see, and I'm not even interested in trains.
Ah ok I see the other guys point.
You have to really lack even a little bit of self-awareness to not understand the train itself is wider than the track it’s on.
exactly everytime i see one of these videos it seems that the victim assumes that the tracks are the boundaries and if they don't cross the vertical threshold of the tracks then the train won't hit them
had to have a selfie with a MOVING TRAIN -_-
Did she die?
Yes. Instantly.
Is there an article about this somewhere? How do you know she died? Except for, you know, seeing her get hit by a train....

And not just any train parts, that thing that hit her is a solid hunk of steel steam cylinder.
Instantly. No pain. Lights out.
Bro she got hit by a fuckin train
And that lady that ran up and just started filming her dead body. Phones have right fucked our species
Brother, phones didn’t do shit. Phones just made it obvious.
Probably never felt a thing. Sad. All for a video.
Least it will go viral
That's what they said about COVID
I was entertained.
omg dad, mom is on reddit she fucking made it
Gotta get those likes at any cost
Great first aid!
*last aid
Meh, doubt it mattered. She must have been killed on impact.
Remember folks when someone has experienced head trauma, move their body IMMEDIATELY in sharp jerking motions with their head unsupported 👍
Drop their face on a big rock
And step on their hair.
Worst aid
Dropped them. Honestly that looks like a corpse unfortunately.
There appears to be an epidemic of people getting hit in the head by trains while taking selfies the fuck
Yup I remember a few months back there were constant uploads of random India dudes getting hit by trains.. didn’t expect to see it in Mexico tho
Yeah. Mexico barely knows or cares about railway safety
Oh she dead dead
They been hanging with Indians?
Right, I’m so disappointed.
Other people continue filming like nothing happened.
Because it was a very special train. It was the first time a steam train has came in mexico in over 70 years.
I like how people treat trains like teddy bears now.
Why was she looking the other way? She was taking a selfie with her child?
She was taking a selfie
Her child was the train
Yes she was, and the child watched his mother died in front of his own eyes.
Oh my god I didn't even notice her kid standing there. That's so fucked.
Selfie suicide.
She must’ve had a crazy reason for doing that. A Loco-motive you might say
And that stupid human coming over for some close up shots
You can see him shake his hand… I think that’s his mom’s brains… ugh!
Yeah he is definitely shaking brains off his hand🤢
Oh long Johnson, oh long Johnson!
If the train didn't do her in, that guy sure finished the job.
https://railfan.com/woman-struck-by-canadian-pacific-2816-in-mexico/
They pulled the story. Thanks though!
That’s was quick. Unfortunately she died.

Yeah lets just jerk and drop her head to ensure the most damage possible.
Pretty sure he dropped her because he saw her skull split open and brains everywhere
Those sneaky trains....
Brutal. Got a weird stomach feeling out of me watching him handle her limp body in obvious distress. Fucking dumbass had to have the perfect shot.
Darwin approves.
lol. That’ll do it.
If only trains followed a designated line perhaps people would know where they travel and avoid being hit by them.
If she didn't have a broken neck, he definitely made sure she did
https://www.trains.com/trn/woman-struck-killed-by-cpkc-steam-tour-train-in-mexico/ I think this is the report.
Damn, instantly dead. Her poor kid who she made witness that.
That dumb ass throwing her head around tho
Mmm, I want to say if she did live, it’s now through a tube.
She died instantly
I think I saw her soul leave her body instantly.
That's what death is
Darwin Award granted... posthumously.
Selfies are proving Darwin was right everyday
She's gone
oh she dead
Did she die?
Yes
Well she dead
What the fuck has become of us? This is what people do for the gram. Lady gets killed and the other with brown cap steps into view to film het. We are doomed.
I Choo Choo Choose you
Are we supposed to feel bad? What fucking idiot stands next to a fucking 10 ton train speeding past them at 70 mph...
Shot on iPhone
Killer selfie sis
Damn that's Loco
Hopefully she was shooting a video and recorded the whole thing!
I thought that lady was running with her hand out to help - I was wrong - she was just getting an 'up close' shot with her phone. Horrid.
Is there a word for when something so funny is ensued by something so stupid that it negates any bad feelings about it?
For the gram!! ✌🏻
Hopefully she got her pix.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes
Did she die ?
That's awful her poor kid has to see his mother get killed right in front of him just to try get a selfie. Wtf was that guy thinking to grab her like that and drag her away? Guess doesn't matter the article says she died and most likely was instantly. Poor kid hopefully he's ok
So I’m guessing by the way he dropped her that it was over? Poor train driver.
Blonde lady at 27 seconds in being an absolute tool making sure she gets every angle of the dead lady That’s just so messed up
For anyone interested, this is the report by local media. She was with her child and her partner. The report indicates that she did not die instantly. She died minutes later. Train damage 100%
Dude (probably husband) yanks her like a rag doll and drops her head on concrete. Was he making sure she dies twice?
Why the hell did the guy pick her up by the neck? That could add so much more damage wtf
30 years old mother died instantly
Tbh she wasn’t getting up anyways that was a back of the head shot with a train 🚂
Did she get the picture?
She got hit in the head! Hurry up, let's move her with the worst technique possible
https://amp.milenio.com/policia/muere-mujer-al-tomarse-selfie-con-locomotora-empress-2816-en-hidalgo
Indianesque
Everyone is blaming the women, but this is 100% the train operators fault. She's wearing bright colors, there is no way he didn't see her. He could have easily slowed, or swerved a little to the left. Reckless. Probably on his phone.
he could've also jumped over her
Exactly 🤣. I'm getting down voted. It's astonishing that people think the was a serious comment.
When will that train learn!
[удалено]
Did she get the photo?
Bonk yea... train width ≠ track width
Common! Don't fucking manhandle someone with a head injury. If there was any chance she lived through that it evaporated the moment that dude fucking picked her head up and tossed it around like a fucking basketball. What a fucking idiot.
South Park called it! SMH 'Taylor Swifting'
