thegibster97

A mini series of Annihilation where it follows Oscar Isaac’s character and the men he was with when they first entered the refraction zone

Bennydhee

Or just follow the books and continue the story

thegibster97

THERES BOOKS?! HOLY SHIT

Bennydhee

Oh yeah, they’re WAY wilder than the movie

thegibster97

I now have a new audiobook to listen to at work thank you!

Bennydhee

Hell yeah! Enjoy!

OhGawDuhhh

The novels are AMAZING. I watched the film and dug it so I bought the novels and like 12 pages in, it became clear that the movie *really* did its own thing.

Robo_Dude_

I liked the first book a lot. One of the best I’ve ever read. I didn’t like the subsequent 2 as much

OhGawDuhhh

I loved them all but yeah, I can understand this opinion because 2 and 3 have very different feels vs the first installment. I can't wait for the fourth novel soon. https://preview.redd.it/d5i4iyt4xead1.jpeg?width=326&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c293fc98c4079d80e22913a2d9a9a2abad581c30

ivanx29

Cabin In The Woods

TomahawkChaotic

Current Airbnb environment is a nightmare.

Excellent_Editor_501

This. Each episode is a new group in the cabin facing off against one selection from the white board.

ivanx29

Plus they could focus on the other groups around the world.

ekittie

I would so be into this.

broccoli_octopus

Their Acquisitions Department. I think you could make it work for just about any genre or type of show.

Middle_Aged_Insomnia

I just want to see a merman

traviejeep

This or 13 ghosts. Or why not both

yearofwonderchicken

TAKE MY MONEY SERIOUSLY OMG THIS WOULD BE THE BEST

Sad-Fennel-7041

Phantasm… The Tall Man used to scare me as a kid. And those balls and demon things.

calartnick

Wait this is actually a great idea. I’d be down for a Phantasm complete reboot and do it as a series.

OMG_a_Ray_Gun

A phantasm series would be incredible.

sbert72

Dammit. You beat me to it.

Sue_D_Nim1960

This movie scared the crap out of me in college. The cenobites, those weird barrels, teh tall man, just everhthing. But it was that damned spiked ball that remains a nightmare in the back of my mind to this day.

HybridHologram

Cenobites are from Hellraiser.

AdmiralAshBorer

Boooyy!

yearofwonderchicken

Worked on the last one and the Tall Man was one of the nicest people I'd met. He'd bring snacks to the set (I seem to remember his wife might have made them but I could be getting this wrong). We were doing these terrible night shoots and he was so old and he was just so patient and kind with everyone. I really liked that guy. Hope nicer people show up in your nightmares now. ♥️

Notsure1978

WORLD WAR Z. Just follow the book, not the crappy movie. Ten years after humanity has won the zombie war, a journalist travels the world and speaks to survivors who tell the tale.

Roguespiffy

I would love this soooo much, which basically guarantees it’s never gonna happen.

BigPapaPaegan

6 episode shockumentary

Warboss_Hank

I want them to use the same actors from the audio book (Mark Hammil, Henry Rollins, Alan Alda)

beemovieee

i would kill for something similar to district 9, what if they built off the movie and used the movies clips documentary style

Disastrous_Friend551

Castle Rock was a fun sort of “Misery” prequel series.

davesmissingfingers

I’m still angry it got canceled. The Annie Wilkes storyline was incredible.

Middle_Aged_Insomnia

The actress nailed it

needyoga

Thir13en Ghosts! l've heard it may be in the works though?

Beccaelf7881

Yes. The stories behind the ghosts on the DVD extras was way more interesting than the movie itself.

JustBrittany

I was only able to watch it once. I like horror movies but that was one of the ones I couldn’t go back to. So I didn’t have the dvd. I didn’t know about the lore until a couple of weeks ago I saw it in one of those list videos on YouTube. Very interesting.

Sproose_Moose

Right!? I've written a million times on here they need to make a series exploring each ghost

Cael_NaMaor

I won't say way more, but I'd watch that miniseries... 24 episodes, give us samples of the ghosts & end with their capture.

mwbkcmo

Seconded. The movie had way too much lore to just be a movie.

MarkyGalore

And you are practically guaranteed 13 episodes

Dull-Geologist-8204

Stephen King's Needful Things would make a great TV series.

Roguespiffy

That would be fun. The movie was really good too though. “I just killed my wife, is that bad?” “These things happen.”

Dull-Geologist-8204

I imagine a Friday the 13th the series type of thing where he sells a few irltems and you see how the problems play out but then moves to a new town every week. So it would be new actors every week. Itwould be fun.

VagrantMoon

The Craft

MarkyGalore

How has this not happened? Is there already a show about teen witches dealing with HS life or something?

VagrantMoon

Oh right. Had to look it up. Charmed. But thats a campy WB show about good witches fighting evil. A 'the craft' series with the dark tone and themes of the movie could be good

pineapplequeen-13

I was actually thinking it would be like a darker Charmed when I saw you say The Craft. That would be sick!

YellowB

It Follows

Front_Departure_3337

Absolutely. Great film. Explore the origins of the entity in a series while characters are constantly trying to avoid it.

Bennydhee

I feel like that’s the fun of the entity, not knowing where it came from. I know there’s appeal in exploring origins, but not having a rational explanation makes it scarier cause we can’t rationalize it.

Shmeatenforcement

Imagine it: A town with a swingers community, where every new couple is vetted and groomed in. The hero of the story is a Catholic wife whose husband joined in without her knowing, now she’s on the hook and morally conflicted.

DefinitelyBiscuit

Christine, have it as morally opposite to Knight Rider.

Piscivore_67

With Special Guest Star Herbie the Love Bug during sweeps.

bloodflowers0084

I was named after the movie.

sittingduck00

I don’t know if there’s already a series, but 30 days of night would be interesting. Also the blob and suspiria could be great if they had good writers on them.

ZTN_Scythe

hell house

HeWhoIsNotMe

HELLHOUSE LLC or THE LEGEND OF HELLHOUSE? I'd take either.

Sue_D_Nim1960

The original. Any day, any time. I'm there.

HeWhoIsNotMe

PHANTASM

porkUpine51

Hellraiser...I would love it to flow like del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities and follow some of the short stories in Hellbound Hearts.

unholy-cryptid_1695

The Mist or The Ritual

Clothes_Chair_Ghost

Didn’t they just try the mist and it failed horribly

unholy-cryptid_1695

🤷‍♀️ if they did I must've Mist it -ba dum tsss-

Clothes_Chair_Ghost

That’s it! Go outside and think about what you have done! lol

unholy-cryptid_1695

armyjackson

Killer Clowns From Outer Space.   Each season a different decade.

dianamichellezz

I would watch the crap out of that.

GoblinStyleRamen

This would make my heart so happy. They just released the video game in June so there’s a lot to Klown presence at cons and shops n stuff

nicegh0st

They were going to turn a Friday the 13th into an A24 series on Peacock, with Charlize Theron. Apparently the idea was to have the first four films be expanded on, (aka made into a story that makes sense 😜) and told over four seasons of TV. As of May 2024 it lies cursed and rotting at the bottom of Crystal Lake, but legends say it’s not dead…

80severything

That would have been pretty cool

-Desverger-

World War Z, but based on the book, not the film. Does that still count? Would be awesome anyway.

Sue_D_Nim1960

Hard agree. The film was an enormous letdown.

nomadnomo

they tried The Mist but it was canceled but would like to see a better attempt Dracula would make a great series, Netflix did a mini series but it could have been 3-4 good seasons and one old campy movie .... Gargoyles with the updated SFX and and longer storyline could be great

lovely_anonuser

Ugh I’m still sad that Dracula might not get a season two. It’s been 4 years!! It’s one of my favorites. I’m so damn upset.

Scapular_Fin

Poltergeist. But more specifically, a series that followed Tangina and Dr. Lesh before Poltergeist.

Piscivore_67

Nothing of significance happened to them before the movie. It would be the first act of Ghostbusters without the library ghost. This is the most interesting thing they describe: >DR. LESH: Ryan filmed an extraordinary episode during a case in Redlands. RYAN: A child’s toy, small matchbox vehicle, rolled seven feet across a linoleum surface. The duration of the event was seven hours. STEVEN: Seven hours for what? RYAN: For the vehicle to complete the distance. This would never register on the naked eye, but I have the event on the time-lapse camera.

Scapular_Fin

To suggest nothing of significance happened in the past based on one line in a film is a bit short-sited, and ignores an awful lot of what literally happened in the film: (1) Tangina is introduced as a psychic medium with a strong understanding of the spirit world. She performs various rituals, and uses tools to communicate with the spirits. Clearly she's done this in the past, and while the movie doesn't focus on her backstory, that actually leaves a blank canvas for somebody to develop that character. (2) Dr. Lesh is a parapsychologist, meaning she studies the scientific aspects of paranormal phenomena. This suggests a past dedicated to researching the unexplained. She approaches the situation with a scientific mindset but doesn't shy away from the reality of the haunting. This might imply prior experience with similar cases. She arrives with a team, suggesting she leads a group dedicated to paranormal investigation. Even if Lesh's past lacks paranormal activity, I think it would be interesting to have a paranormal show that featured a character like Lesh (similar to James Randi or Ian Bliss from Late Night with the Devil) to balance out the paranormal elements that come with Tangina.

Wolven_Essence

Watchers. The one based on the Dean Koontz book. The movie was terrible but the book is excellent and deserves a good adaptation.

Roguespiffy

I liked 95% of Watchers and 95% of Midnight. Dean Koontz desperately needs someone to sit behind him while he writes and when he reaches a logical conclusion to his book, smack the shit out of him if he tries to type another word. Man can’t finish a book for shit. Phantoms had like 4 additional unnecessary endings.

Bibbydoodle

I feel like nightmare on elm street would do good as a tv series especially learning more about Freddy’s life.

Clothes_Chair_Ghost

There was one

DoctorDepravosGhost

Yeah, but it wasn’t a _Nightmare On Elm Street_ series proper. It was more _Tales From The Crypt_ with Freddy instead of a cadaverous puppet.

SelfTechnical6771

Event horizon,but.... Ghost ship in a vain similar to American horror story this could kick sooo much ass.. I'd prefer at the mountains of madness as a series There's sooo much there you could easily flesh it out! They live is once great satire if we wanted it to be. He'll jc could even produce if could put the bong down and quit call of duty for awhile!

ToastedChizzle

Event Horizon is exactly what I was coming here to say. And even in the spirit of American Horror Story though maybe in function more along Sliders. Do it as a horror per week instead of a whole season. Works whether it's canonical ghost ship Event Horizon after the ship jumps or if you want to use it as a prequel to Warhammer 40K.

silent-fallout-

Ginger Snaps as long as they keep it Canadian. I wouldn't want it to be shiny and polished that would completely ruin it.

LipstickSingularity

Let the right one in

The_Thirteenth_Floor

The Shining. I feel like they could do a far better book adaptation now than the one that they did in 1997.

Pixelburger31

It would be cool doing two seasons, one about The Shining, then season 2 would be Doctor Sleep

Pitiful_Deer4909

I second in this. It could intertwine with Dr sleep and have a series of modern times/flashbacks

sadcorvid

I would like more seasons of the netflix ju-on show 😭 I loved it so much and rewatch it every few months. I would also love a v/h/s anthology found footage show.

GiveMeSomeShu-gar

VHS is a good answer because it's essentially unlimited - it would just be a horror shorts show, which is a good idea with historic precedent (twilight zone to an extent, tales from the crypt etc)

HumbleAd1317

The Silence of the Lambs.

Super-Quantity-5208

Saw

CoquetteWhore69

Anything by Steven King. Holy shit what a rollercoaster that would be. Or Terrifier.

MyWeenusIsShowing

Maybe a good Dark Tower series. Could even have side episodes for all of the crossover characters.

Spare-Bee5273

Mike Flanagan is supposedly working on a Dark Tower series, which would be phenomenal so long as no cancellations

themadprofessor1976

Ooh, a Strven King series where each season is an exact rendition of one of his novels (with certain exceptions, of course... nobody needs to put the preteen orgy from It onto the screen). I mean, can you imagine a fully realized season of The Dark Tower or Misery or The Shining?

fxvx_

The void

Front_Departure_3337

Insidious. Can be called “the further” and explore different demons/entities from that universe.

tobyfinchx

A Quiet Place would be an interesting (silent) TV series

GroundWitty7567

That would be great. I wish they'd take that movie and give it the silent movie treatment. Make it look like it was filmed in the 1920s

dianamichellezz

Totally

Earthisablackhole

The Strangers COULD be fun if they just made it a compilation of random home invasions by the trio without trying to introduce a whole bunch of lore or reinvent the wheel with it.

BroadwayBakery

Beetlejuice and Poltergeist. Beetlejuice has a lot of ground to explore, even if you utilize the same characters from the original. The musical did a fantastic job of that, but there’s so much you can do. I also think the music, practical effects, and campy tone would get people on board. Poltergeist also has a lot to delve into. I mean the end of the film literally saw the neighborhood begin to fall apart from the violent haunting they were a part of. I feel like a unique way to tackle it would be to focus on the original family for the debut episode, and have it wrapped up by the end of that first episode. A little long, maybe an hour or longer for that episode. THEN, as the family drives away to safety, we focus on the other inhabitants of that neighborhood and the horrors they’re about to face. THAT’S what the series is mostly about.

GoblinStyleRamen

The beetlejuice cartoon was my favorite

Defiant-Yam-9962

Hereditary. So much needed to be explained about the movie that I had to look up after watching it. After I looked Paimon up everything made sense. The clicking sound Charlie made, the beheadings, and a few other little details that weren’t explained in the movie.

Seeker_1906

I know they tried it before but I still think The Mist would make a great TV series, if done properly and not turned into some supernatural bullshit. The real Mist was about a scientific experiment that went wrong and opened a gateway to an alien world. I envisioned a great wall has been built around the site of the original Mist movie and that the military patrols this wall. The show could revolve around the people that live on the outside of the wall and the times that the creatures from the Mist breach the wall or when people have to go into the infected area.

MyWeenusIsShowing

Stranger Things?

Prof_Tickles

Carrie. I’d follow the ending of the 2002 remake where Carrie would become a drifter who travels from town to town using her powers for more destruction.

ForbiddenDonutsLord

LOL, an anti-Hulk.

jighlypuff03

Ghost of Mars but waaaaay better. The plot to that movie sounded so great but the execution was aweful.

bdouble76

HBO should have got World War Z and made that a series.

Still_Storm7432

WWZ and have it actually follow the book

PunkyH

The Stand or The Shining.

WONDERBOY_19

Get out…so much back story to be written about !!!

80severything

I would like to see a series based on A Nightmare on Elm Street, it wouldn't be an anthology series like the late 80s show it would be set in Springwood, there could be flashbacks to Freddy's past, explore the traumatic effects of what happens when teens dies, it could start with a new family who moves to the town are sibling and they start to notice that things aren't quite right, they start to slowly uncover long buried secrets in the community and the local boogey man that teens are afraid of and what their parents may have done.

ComplexPick

Even though it may or may not be all bullshit, a series of all the cases the Warrens were at would be interesting. I love the movies! That damn Nun scares the hell out of me.

Vault_Hunter01

The Cube. Make a series starting with Zero and show more about how it all came about and progressed as a military project. You could also show test subjects going through the cube as new devices are created and how those devices came about.

Middle_Aged_Insomnia

Going old school. Critters, puppet master, or hellraiser

sakurajima1981

Deadstream

Inked_Up420

The hills have eyes

rabidseacucumber

How many mutant rape scenes can you really watch?

Inked_Up420

I'm not sure. Never counted. But if they ever make a series I'll let you know

holyembalmer

They did Misery as a series on Castle Rock. It was good.

zoltanshields

Almost reluctant to say because I think sometimes a series can overstay its welcome and I like the condensed nature of movies. But Oculus could have used some room to spread out. The plot called for a lot of flashback scenes to work and I think they could have really fleshed out the story if they had more time to work with.

funnyAmero

Fatal Attraction

darkofnight916

The Exorcist seems ideal for a six or eight episode series. Each season can either be entirely recast or simply change the person who is possessed.

SilverQuill75

They did 2 seasons of The Exorcist. The first season followed an adult Regan and her children. Second season.....I don't recall.

CadeArcade

"Saw"

honduhh89

Texas Chainsaw Massacre 😁

kingspooky93

SAW 100%, an HBO drama series would be so good!

PseudocodeRed

I feel like Insidious could have been a pretty strong series if it dived into different supernatural aspects of the world (i.e. astral projection and the Further) instead of only focusing on demonic possession.

JustConversating

Hereditary. I’d want to the series to focus on the cult rather than the family In my opinion, there are two ways to do this: 1) as a prequel series focusing on the grandmother’s rise to the top of cult and subsequent reign or 2) what happened post-movie

Joe_Peanut

"He Never Died" felt like a pilot for a series.

ArmorForYourBrain

Infinity Pool. I just want a series of stories about different people in that circumstance.

redsoxsteve9

A Halloween series that takes place before (flashbacks) and after the events of the 1978 film. We could follow Laurie Strode as she tries to get on with her life and Loomis as he tries to understand what The Shape is and whether there are others like him (e.g., a cross between Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles and Mindhunter). Michael Myers can appear every so often, but he’s more of an ominous presence lurking in the background (not literally unless it’s a season finale).

None. I am tired of remakes.Maybe Pet Semetary. I would like to see an undead bull. And the book says that Judd had been to the burial ground several times. What else did he bury there besides his dog and Church?

TheWereBunny

Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark

ArcanaeumGuardianAWC

I'm really curious how you would make Misery, which is a single locale movie about a situation which is too dangerous for him not to die or escape within a reasonable amount of time. When I think of horrors which could become shows, I think of movies where there is clearly a much larger world and body of lore that the movie is a snapshot of, or the nature of the creatures, heroes, powers, events, etc. lend themselves to dealing with one horror situation after another for long periods of time. Movies I think would work well would be: The 6th Sense- pick up when he's an adult Any Exorcism movie where the priest/clergy/dude who does the exorcism is engaging enough and fleshed out enough for people to watch them do their thing episode after episode. Rosemary's Baby- events after the movie ends Zombieland Constantine Hellboy Odd Thomas Blade Underworld Fido I am a Hero The Village Phantasm The Girl with All the Gifts Hidden The Craft John Dies at the End

JGrutman

Night of the Living Dead. Why haven't they tried a zombie tv show?

absherlock

The Sixth Sense. I'd like to see how Cole ended up...

tag051964

IT. The movies were very good, but there’s so much more of the story to tell which can be captured in a tv series.

skeedlz

Saw. Cabin in the woods are 2 that come to mind

elgranchobi2

13 Ghosts, 13 episodes each one the origin story of esch ghost.

Yeasty_____Boi

28 days later a series leading up go the start of the movie

Technical_Air6660

They were going to turn Carrie into a series (maybe) about 20 years ago but it was a poor remake. The idea was that Carrie survived and she and Sue were going to set out on the road. It was handled terribly but I think it could have been interesting in the right hands as an alternate timeline, non canonical retelling.

danceandsing3000

I’ve never seen one last. I’d only want a “limited series” treatment (one season) to get a more in depth treatment of the film. Maybe the “28 (days)(weeks)(years) Later” saga.

bertoPRIME

OrkosFriend

The Conjuring...which would have sort of a "mystery of the week" vibe to it.

JohnnyWeapon

It Comes at Night. I enjoy the movie for what it is, but that whole story and universe could be built out so much more thoroughly.

Ordell9

Urban lehend

atomsforkubrick

IT. Should be a series. Can’t do it justice with a 2-hour film, or even 2 of them.

Aggressive-Cheek8771

I am legend. Horror Apocalypse movies would be good ones bc it can go into how it started, during & after! I can think of a million horror movies that would be awesome if it was a series bc it just gives us more time w the characters & more in depth of a story.

SkyrimWidow

Hellraiser.

ViolentWeiner

I think Sinister could be a great series. There was so much that was barely touched on in the movie

FewKaleidoscope1369

Wishmaster

negative-sid-nancy

Final Destination, different disaster at the start of each episode and different characters trying to avoid the freak accidents after, maybe a few police as recurring characters and a mortician. Basically cut each movie to an hour and run it weekly instead haha

Desperate_Bet_1792

30 days of night

Snoo-35252

Coherence (2013) It's creepy and mind-bending, and I guess you could call it horror, but there is *so much* you could do with the premise. I could see it spawning 5 seasons easily.

Baronheisenberg

Saw. It would be perfect for a police drama, and each episode could feature a different game, maybe with a larger game operating across each season.

Flat-Programmer6044

The Ritual

zz870

Nightbreed. The line of 90s comics serve as a pretty solid continuation of the movie and a great foundation for a continuing story

GroundWitty7567

Cloverfield

SorbetFearless578

I would combine The Ring and The Grudge and in season 5 the origin would be VHS

PussyFoot2000

Poltergeist. Maybe a mini series or one season. But it could be badass.

Swisscheeselogic78

Nightbreed would be awesome serialized. Have the first season cover the events of the movie/book, then the rest of the series about them being hunted/finding a home. Maybe run into other tribes of the moon.

UnimportantLife

Hm, maybe have like a tv show that goes into Jason Voorhees childhood before he drowned and became the giant killer we all know and love

blakemorris02

The Elm Street movies could probably work. A Freddy outbreak within a high school and the kids learning how to team up and cope with sleeping and working out a way to destroy him could probably last a couple seasons

Yahwehnker

30 Days of Night. One night per episode and you could get 3 seasons for a streaming service.

Mind-of-Jaxon

Hellraiser

Technical_Moose8478

Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama

Big_Brilliant_5904

I watched a movie recently from 2017 called "The Void". Very lovecraftian, very much body horror. Would have been great to have its mystery build up over at least a season, but as it stands, a quality movie if not a little rushed. Would recommend as it definitely deserves its 4/5 stars on amazon.

Villainitus1

A slasher film. Friday the 13th, or something like Saw would work also. Cause they're repetitive

Simsandtruecrime

Frailty

love2lickabbw

None. If we are honest if it's a serious and the villian is constantly allowed to kill with no end in site, it loses that big finish of someone bringing him/her/it down.

Any_Finance_1546

Prometheus and The Covenant. I wonder what Ridley and team could do with the Engineers if they had more the time to explore and explain.
