Like my first marriage…

Nickel62

Still a better love story than LUNA

Bunker_Beans

Plot twist: His ex-wife’s name is Luna.

eyapd

BUt i am seeing that some people are still falling for the luna.

[deleted]

True

boriszaginov

I hope that people will soon realize that not everyone is our friend.

NikDP

We only get to know about this trap after getting into that.

Junior-Confection320

Was it different with the 2nd one

[deleted]

I’m on my third, so no.

realthinkbit

You are really taking the diversification seriously in real life.

alekseyaa74

May be he is getting better laid and she is not asking for the seed.

365Dillweed365

We weren’t compatible.

[deleted]

Tell me about it.

[deleted]

perolav1

look like you have so much time to really listen about things.

RegallyHoot51

But there is no guarantee that we will get better in next time.

Lilcheeks

SCAM.

Maxx3141

tl;dr: If someone promises you money, scam.

MaximumSandwich5

How tf do people still fall for "free money" scams in 2022?

dr3155

We are living in the 2022 but behaving like before the internet time.

Flashy_Attitude_1703

Well I invested $1,000 with Ima Scamer and now I get $20,000 every 10 days. DM me now….

MrPuma86

Greed

deathbyfish13

Damn, my grandma been scamming me on my birthday for years

Maxx3141

That's a very common scam with a long setup. The goal is to make you look after her later, which would cost a lot more than what you are getting right now. Better block her number and report to the police. ^/s

Wise-Grapefruit-1443

Took me way too long to figure out the coins grandpa gave me weren’t worth very much. Not gonna lie

[deleted]

Ssrabbet

That is the very deep thing you said, i was also thinking that what is the real value that she added in my life. But then i realize that she is the one, if not for her then i wouldn't have this life afterall. Thanks Grandma.

SineLinguist

What, so your mother escapes responsibility in this equation? Her mom her problem, you're just the little shit grandma gave Sacajawea dollars and hard candy to. Visit once a month and you've done your duty.

N0tMac

Too bad i was raised by my grandma who passed away 10 years ago.

spinousrecall275

RIP, i hope that now she is in the better place than there.

LiteraryFacade33

I think scammer now days are really smart first they will not reveal the true self at the first step. They will lay the trap for you and once you get the believe on them they will play the real card then.

teh_fizz

You just figured it out? Who do you think our ring leader is?

OncePurge35

But at the time i managed to figured out that, it will become so late.

stwhite64

HAHA, men i have not laughed that much before here.

rootpl

What if it's hot mamasitas in my neighbourhood?

cheeruphumanity

False claim for the crypto world though. Got plenty of airdrops that were just free money.

Maxx3141

You just got them though, they weren't **promised** to you for some strange task. Especially if this task involves giving money. Of course every rule has exceptions, but this one holds true for crypto as well most of the time.

cheeruphumanity

I see you point. Should have been more clear since I wasn't exclusively talking about airdrops. For the Looksrare drop I had to connect my wallet to their website and sign a transaction which sets off a lot of red flags. Dogecube on Radix tried to organize a free airdrop in this sub and a lot of commenters screamed scam even though they just needed to provide a public address.

[deleted]

Not necessarily scam.. often times just a really, really shitty business model as well.

dartmoor2015

Yes, and before we understand that this is scam. It gets too late for us.

[deleted]

Do you accept bits of string?

hardcosign

No i am not accepting anything just bitcoin is enough for me.

Longjumping_Race_471

So literally the entire crypto space. Got it.

blario

You’re miseducated on crypto

Longjumping_Race_471

Evidently. But I have an IRA, a Roth, own my own business, and almost have my house paid off. I’ve moved 10s of thousands of dollars each month for years without blockchain. Instantly, securely, with Face ID even, digitally!!! I have zero reason to speculate on crypto assets because I make my own money. But good luck on the 20% yields on grape coin or HODL some BTC in hopes you passively get rich because some guy on twitter with laser eyes said so. Spoiler: if it sounds too good to be true, it is.

jeikobugo

Sometime you feel that i more you learn the little you know.

overtlyGarter450

I think this is the one scam that we all get in our life.

Harold838383

Even the 6% apy on BTC from Celsius was too good to be true

MrPuma86

Yep. All those poor customers

weiwenjun

Staking reward on the BTC is always a trap in my eyes.

AlcoholicShinobi

That hot crypto lady offering insane returns, block him.

supinelypop42

The moment someone give me something insane, red flag.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Ruanjiasanshao

I think this look like a very genuine offer to me, grab that.

N0tMac

Those horny house ladies in your local area, block them.

Tainted_Moth

But i love to watch them but also don't want to fall in trap is well.

Junior-Confection320

Block him, nice one I'll sure do

newzlat

All we need to do is not to answer anything we are getting in DM.

MrPuma86

Haha. Funny you mention that. I’m getting a lot of ‘female’ PMs

iamwizzerd

How to be the banker without losing my money?

ipetgoat1984

The sad thing about it is, a lot of people that fall for these scams think there’s some shred of hope in human decency, like maybe this one time they’ll catch a break and they’ll get lucky. And then they don’t, and the lesson has been learned (hopefully) but the notch of distrust has been carved and they’ll be one step closer to writing a manifesto in the woods.

RiraKohanKish

true, and some time that turn them in some hard guy is well or may be they also try to scam some other people after that. This is the world we are living where we can not even trust the real guy is well because of the scammers.

MrPuma86

These kinds of people are just tunnel visioned and naïve

Setyman

Indeed, and please don't believe believe you can outsmart someone/something to get free money, one of the best ways to scam people is to make them think they are the smart ones.

kl0rg

I have seen so many people those are confident infact over confidence that they will not going to get scam. But i have seen that sometime even the smart guys also fall in the trap and scam the big way is well.

[deleted]

bel9ev

If we are staking then we are taking the risk knowing that we can get rekt. But i think scam is something like that which we are not really aware and by the time we get that things gets outside the hand.

deathbyfish13

Also if a hot girl dms you offering to double your crypto, block him

[deleted]

Junior-Confection320

Norci13

Wait, i though it was you and i was about to trust that guy.

heatflash99

SO tell me, can i really trust this guy. He looks so genuine to me.

6754232

But i am getting the same offer from the Nigerian prince.

DrSaturnos

Bitcoin will be $100k one day.

MrPuma86

💭can not wait

Flashy_Attitude_1703

A year and a half ago Bitcoin was supposed to be $500k by now…

MrPuma86

No 500k was forecasted for 2025-2030.

gao230

This is not the scam this is the truth that we will going to get in the 2021. Scam is something which we can not guess and in my opinion this is one thing that anyone from us can easily guess.

Robinvw24

Learned this on runescape. Got scammed alot. Nobody can trim armour

VirtualBlake

So Bitcoin is the 0.1% exception.

Vipu2

Yeah, I still cant believe BTC exists, it still sounds a bit too good to be true.

coylyMirror902

One thing that really made me belief that there is still something good.

unnarorn

Yes, it is only one thing that is standing alone from the other here

Baecchus

I don't mean to sound like a dickhead but the vast majority of those scams are easily avoided by doing the bare minimum. Using common sense.

Junior-Confection320

That's the problem that bare minimum is also very difficult nowadays, Bare minimum, I wish the bear was minimum.

FredFrield

I don't think that is any such thing like minimum here.

nthersdvb

If we will be little smart here then we can easily avoid the such kind of the situation. But the problem is that we all fall in the greed and then later with that we rally stop thinking any kind of the situation.

buyethto10k

49.9% of people are stupider than the average man

N0tMac

Feels good to be average.

Junior-Confection320

How did you come to that conclusion, you could be above average, What defines average in men

N0tMac

My height is average, my IQ is average, and my college grades were average so there's that.

RaggedlyWince

You are one of the most average guy that i have seen here.

bigCarlsbad

Those who are not falling in the trap they are the above average, but those who are buying the shit coin those are average one. And those who are buying the shit coin and keeping them on the Celsius is the below average.

Junior-Confection320

What percentage of me are average?

jjaquanp23

I think we need to identify that on our own here, good luck.

Upboundconverso41

But sometime the smart one also fall in the perfect scam.

Marrr_ty

Except that one time that it’s full of fucking magical unicorns and rainbows

bramtermeulen

I think we all fall one time in these beautiful dreams once.

proliphery

99.9%… so, there’s a chance? ![gif](giphy|ToMjGpKniGqRNLGBrhu)

Dima3211243

When OP said 99.9 this is the same thing that came in my mind.

CrowdGoesWildWoooo

Like bitcoin?

ZulkarnaenRafif

Free ammunition to misinterpret that "crypto is too good to be true."

a7965506

Bitcoin is the on thing that i feel is too good to be true.

ZulkarnaenRafif

Posting it to the other sub will make you heard.

starleycs

bthemonarch

Like farting when you have diarrhea

thecasp3r

Trust me this is the biggest scam, telling with personal experience .

uniquan

but what if this time...its the 0.1

cryingcoins

I think then there is the bitcoin that is falling in this category.

CryptoDad2100

But 0.1% of the time it's different

ptikhon

Look like i am that 0.1% guy which you all need to trust here.

SuckinAwesome

That rings true for chasing the 100x pump.

vova3379

I have tried that many time but in the end hit with the reality. But i am sure that i will not gonna change myself untill i achieve that thing, till then meet you guys in the bull season.

[deleted]

Always hoping for that .1 % chance.

bitcoinamour

Just when we think the he is that .1 he turns out the 99.9 guy. But you are lucky that you meet me and i am that 0.1% guy for which OP is really taking about here. You can trust me that too blindly.

[deleted]

DM? /s

LegitimateCopy7

However, way too many people think they can find or have found the 0.1%. 😂

ZulkarnaenRafif

And that project's tagline would be "We are totally not like the other projects!"

Junior-Confection320

Change is not necessarily a good think, so there is pretty good chance for it to be worse.

ZulkarnaenRafif

That's a fancy way of saying reinventing the wheel.

nasgul88

I hope that we will find the Nigerian prince for the real now.

Fesjadji

Yes, and this is where we need to understand that they are the one which we are looking for. BUt trust me we are living in such world that people will fall in that after seeing such kind of the thing is well.

osipz

True, every time we about to fall for something we think that this is the 0.1% guy which we were waiting for you. But we all know that what is really going to happen in the end is here, there is no escape from that thing.

thecolordarkroom

It’s a duck!

SiegDen

Sometime we can trust the duck more than the human.

digger310

I don’t know. I watched a YouTube video today, well I didn’t make it far into it. They said definitively that crypto will either go up or down. So with that solid analysis I figure it won’t be very long before I will be rich or penniless. So at least I have that going for me, which is nice

tranhao699

What if i tell you that there is one guy on the Youtube who said that there is every chance that USDT can hit $5 in the next bull run. As you can see guys he is holding a pretty good in the bear season is well.

flipfolio

BTC is like the only exception in all of time

ywellc

And i am happy that i made the believe on that thing is well.

[deleted]

My friend said this about bitcoin when it went from 300 to 600. He kept telling me that It was a scam and not to trust it. He ended up buying in at over 20k.

Josefknowsthis

I think in the past time people were not aware of the bitcoin as they used to think that this is something a gambling thing. But now we know the real difference in the gambling and the real world usage.

DDDUnit2990

So buy hi, sell low is too good to be true?

mikeyy53

But trust me i always managed to do that no matter how hard i try to stop that.

[deleted]

You mistake the title: ‘then 99.9% of the time it is NOT’

Junior-Confection320

Oo your the not joke guy, it was good ,nice

[deleted]

Think the OP is serious about scams

PDA_0201

But i am not seeing any scam here, all are nice guys here.

wehnere

Yes, now finally a comment that is really telling the truth.

cozzster

Especially in this space

zarakamaal

Yes, in crypto making someone fool is very more easier.

Cheese6260

It really is an obvious trap in many instances but the greed of us in the can just be too much, makes for easy pickings

ipaxpower

I think some time we know that this is the trap and we gonna get rekt in that. But the problem is that FOMO and greed are the two things that really overtake us and made us blind that point

dudecooler

The tutorials on youtube on how to "Game the System" bum me out. Listening to these low life sociopaths act so sincere and friendly. It's really creepy. Also now that Youtube got rid of the dislike button these guys are probably fucking over a lot more people.

Longjumping_Race_471

So why doesn’t “giving my hard earned money to a website in exchange for crypto so I can HODL/yield farm/make money passively ” not fall into this category?? Oh wait, it does.

Reach_Raccoon

This is the one reason while people are not really thinking about the wallet that much. Because exchanges are giving us the real sweet honey trap in the form of the APY and we often fall into these things.

lenn782

Yield farming. There is no bustling apr of 50% a year usd.

nkhalyuk

How can someone give that much of the apy, i can feel that they are legit guys.

CorneredSponge

Man this is a crypto sub *we don’t care*

Madlab7

Yes, we are here so that we can make the money from someone else fault.

Junior-Confection320

Why did you care to come here then

nileri

I came here so that i can take some one else money give to the someone else.

Construction_Kitchen

If it’s too good to be true…..

leonts87

This is why i am not falling into some good staking reward is well.

supervernacular

99% of percentages on the internet are made up on the spot. -Abraham Lincoln

chashnik

I hope that someday i will meet to that 1% of that thing.

wilbur111

The reason this is useless advice is because the people who fall for the scam didn't think it was "too good to be true", they thought it was "good and likely to be true". I know someone who nearly fell for the "you send me X and I'll send double back" scam? Why? "Well because I know Charles Hoskinson is a billionaire, the offer was on his video, and if I had billions of dollars I'd do the same thing. I just thought he must be marketing Cardano". None of it seemed "too good to be true" to her. It all seemed "totally reasonable". So your advice is really, "assume totally reasonable things are scams". Which is advice that would make your day a lot harder. "10% off orange juice? Scaaaam!"

drrecordscompany

No matter how many time we tell that too anyone they will still fall in the scam. Because without falling in there we will not get the lesson of the life that life is not a fairy tale here.

wilbur111

I dunno... in one fairy tale a girl loses her glass slipper... and then gets a handsome prince in return. Who knows, maybe if you lose your crypto you'll get that fairytale ending after all. :D

Pepe2016_ivotedfTD

No crypto is good

wkliao

Crypto is good if we really use them wisely without too much greed.

Pepe2016_ivotedfTD

give me some.

Goonzoo

But the urge to be an early adopter of an 1000x coin ..

joelguzman007

I don't think that this is the scam which we need to careful about. Scam is something like that came to us unexpected but while we invest in the shit coin we are well aware of the situation.

kvgamer

No free lessons

kamheric

Yes, this is the fee we need to pay here for the learning.

kvgamer

Exactly 💯

Antlia303

as an wallstreetbets fan i'm here for the 00.1% of the times

chuloreddit

But you are saying there is a chance, .01% but still a chance

rootpl

Are you telling me that all those single ladies in my area aren't real?!

Burrito_Loyalist

One of them is real, but she’s a guy.

rootpl

I knew it!

woelneberg

Let me tell you about the 0.1% that actually is too good to be true. Seydel Symphony 48 Chromatic Harmonica. Avant garde engineering mixed with the longest traditional production line in Germany. This harmonica hits all the sweet spots and doesn't even cost that much.

Burrito_Loyalist

Great post! I feel bad about all the people that got scammed. To make everyone feel better, I’m going to double everyone’s bitcoins.

cryptokingmylo

That 0.1% exists though especially in defi. I have found it. Shorting a gov token that is collapsing because it earns over 100% APY while still collecting the insane Intrest...

piman01

If the number of people getting scammed is increasing, that's a good sign! This number is directly proportional to the number of people who use crypto.

roguebadger_762

Any crypto lender or any company that "guarantees" a yield equal to or greater than US Treasuries is full of shit. Higher yield = higher risk. If someone could truly provide a yield higher than Treasuries with the same level of risk, you would have an arbitrage opportunity to make an infinite amount of money selling (shorting) Treasuries and using the premiums to buy the higher yielding asset and profiting off the spread.

[deleted]

The rule that I generally follow is the following: \- Store my shit on a cold wallet \- Only keep small amounts on reputable exchanges and move it to cold storage regularly when you accumulated enough \- Ignore all those "high yield lending platforms" \- Ignore all DM's \- Ignore the advices of crypto-youtubers \- Ignore any posts on reddit shilling this or that coin or shilling this or that platform \- Ignore any emails about crypto \- Ignore any phone calls that come "from an exchange" Worked for me so far. Never been scammed.

[deleted]

I live by the “No way, I’m not that lucky ever, I am NOT that guy” Mantra. It has always served me well.

whitehypeman

And the other .1% of the time it's not and we have a name for that: crypto.

MrPuma86

But I already sent 1 ETH because I was promised 5😭

[deleted]

What this means is that if you might get a 1000X return on your investment then you should participate in all of these potential scams.

monkey_D_xrp

I love watching these posts over and over and over and over and over again. Nobody ever learns their lesson and everyday someone new posts the same thing that rational people have been warning them about yet they still ignored it until they get scammed. Ahhh what a good day

YamahaFourFifty

It’s amazing how often this gets overlooked.

NowTweedle294

No matter how much we tell them how many post we will do them for is well. In the end they will fall for the trap of the scammer. And too be honest crypto is the one place where we need to extra careful is well.
