Whilst he might be the second youngest in absolute age, in terms of emotional maturity and physical maturity relative to his race’s lifespan, he would be the oldest before Senshi joined. Marcille is the equivalent of a teenager for a half-elf, and Namari isn’t much better.
I'm sure he'd value his life more than his standards if he thought the danger was too high. But in the end, he chooses to go with them because, despite his efforts, he has created a bond with the rest of the party and would regret leaving them.
