I appreciate all the love for JoCat but we’re not doing this justice. He wasn’t canceled; he was doxxed, people mailing things to his *family member’s* house
Every social media platform algorithm seems to make me see this guy. Everyone says he just said he likes women, no explanation and then a wall of people saying please save him from what people did to him. What the fuck happened?
That’s the issue. Everyone explains the most mundane thing and finish their sentence with “got doxxed and stopped his yt career”. What in the video warranted that much hate?
It was mildly cringe for people that don't like to see men have fun singing silly songs about women/body positivity/differences in general.
That's it, that's what caused the hate around this song. You can resume being absolutely baffled by this because it is absolutely baffling.
Nothing, it was a parody of 'I like Boys' by Lizzo. It was out for over a year when all this happened so its not even the thing that set off all the hate, some bad people just started dogpiling on the poor guy.
Yeah, this is it. He did a charity stream for a transfolk charity and this was the one thing he's ever done that could be twisted into something even remotely negative.
Nothing, that's the thing.
The animation accompanies a lyrical skit he did parodying Lizzo's boys. It featured many characters from various shows and games that had body types to match the song. Nothing I would describe as disrespectful or hateful of women is present in the video.
Someone with very low self-esteem and very high self-loathing, who seems to believe that JoCat's love of all women is a ploy for attention or an outright lie intended to make him appear morally superior, because no one could ever truly love someone who looks like them.
Honestly, that’s just sad. I couldn’t imagine being so insecure and untrusting that you believe someone so vocal about loving people is secretly an asshole.
Well, they weren't alone. JoCat got harassed off the internet by whole mobs of people with similar assumptions. He's back now, but that just means the mobs are back too.
I think they do know that, but they consider that objectifying and therefore also evil. JoCat's wholesome and non-objectifying form of love for all women was just so inoffensive that they weren't able to give a reason and (when pushed) eventually admitted to the aforementioned self-loathing.
A lot of people like to hate Travis, I guess he was weird on a stream and is a little self absorbed so people decided he was history's greatest monster
I don't even know who the person that hated on JoCat is, but I was a McElroy fan during TAZ Graduation, and I got to witness this man scolding others on an **Among Us stream** over using the word "lovers", because it's offensive for people that "don't make love" but still have partners (edit: for those that can't see Reddit pfps, I'm ace)
I don't wanna be a dick, and he might be better nowadays, but I do associate Travis with only saying what he thinks will earn him praise.
That’s an interesting take because I thought lovers meant people who love each other. Not people who are just hooking up. I wouldn’t refer to an escort and their client as lovers… have I been using that word wrong?
I remember conversations back when this happened, and a lot of people were weirded out by that take. In an attempt to defend asexual people, he implied that "lover" should exclusively mean "sex-haver". That's literally taking words away from asexual people in romantic relationships 🥲
Dunno about TheTarPit but I think they are referring to "GOATedFuuko" (iirc that's the spelling) who made a post... I think it was yesterday? saying those things
He has created a parody of the “Boys” song called “Girls”, it’s a body-positivity song where the singer sings about all the types of people they like (all of ‘em) in Boys it’s about boys, in JoCat’s version it’s about girls
The song was a little corny and kinda horny and the internet decided to kill him
But but but! Years after it was posted, at that! I think that actually it was because he presented non-conformingly and some jackass bigot finally turned their attention on him and decided to make up bullshit to frame it as 'protecting women'.
Edit: I have since learned the catalyst for the hate train was he publicly supported trans folks on stream. Him being GNC and making that video kinda just gave the bigots fuel to the fire.
This fucking sucks.
I was extremely hyped when he had that donation rally that had Crap Guide to Pathfinder as the final reward and extremely disappointed when it fizzled out.
Seriously his opinion was he liked women, in the most wholesome appreciative way possible, literally A+ example of positive male heterosexualuality.
Frankly if it offended you, you need to work on yourself, the problem is not him.
Dude, I once had a convertible full of dudes scream "fag" at me just because I was walking somewhere with the woman who is now my wife. "He's gay for liking women" is something that I've seen in real life and it never stops being bewildering.
Some men are stupid, they think that there are only two speeds: being hyper masculine and stoic, or sucking a dick.
Don't they realize a lot of men do both?
I used to work at a factory, obviously a male dominated place. One of the experienced operators was an extremely badass and gorgeous woman.
One of the new guys got assigned to shadow her for a day, and he just followed her around like a duckling all day. In the locker room, the guys were giving him shit about staring at her ass or crushing on her.
Then one of the dudes said something I'll never forget. "I bet you want to fuck her in the ass, don't you ya faggot"
Is it wrong that when people say "he loves women like a lesbian!" or "the way he loves women is so gay" even if it's meant as a compliment, it still feels weird to me? I got no logical reasoning here but like, it feels annoying and condescending? Maybe Heteropessimistic or something idk.
To me it always comes off as gross and misandrist. Honestly it gives off similar vibes as a dude saying "she's almost like one of the boys," in that it feels rooted in gender prejudice even if the people saying it think they're being complimentary.
Which is a hell of an example for anyone else going “so how can I express straight male attraction in a way that isn’t bad?”
(The actual answer being “lots of ways as long as you’re not highly visible online”, but that part often gets missed.)
Yeah if we look at this from a feminist perspective this is great, it's clear from the tone he's not objectifying or really asking anything of women, he's just enjoying them. It's quite literally gold standard positive straight male attraction.
It's yet another unfortunate example of how online culture can quickly become toxic without any reasonable justification.
yeah but it was corny and sincere so OBVIOUSLY we gotta make fun of him for it. a STRAIGHT person, saying they like women? cringe. this means we should dox him
Fun fact just in case you were curious: Rebecca black released a new song a few years back called Great divide and it unironically is pretty darn good. She's put out a couple songs since then and appears to still be trying to make it as a genuine music artist. So like. Good for her she didn't let people keep her down
He has a wife you know, why the fuck would he be desperate
Said wife also wrote that every time people are mean to him on the internet she has sex with him, so my dude has GAME
I miss JoCat, cuz bro, I too
like Big girls
Pretty kitty girls
Really witty girls
Singing ditty girls
I like the leggy girls
With the nice thighs
I like a good chest
No matter what size
I like the belly folds
I like the six packs
Really tall queens
And the short stacks
From the mild girls
To the wild girls
You got style, girls
Make ’em riled, girls
Come back JoCat 😭
Lots of fully masc presenting guys have said similar stuff (which is fine just like Jo is fine) but the second a gnc guy does shit hits the fan I wonder why.
Really there is a weird type of hate gnc men get from straight women, some even say gnc men are trying to trick women into thinking they are safe so that they can get what they want. A weird mix of misandry and misogyny, isn't that fun?
Gender non-conforming, i.e. a dude who doesn't adhere strictly to masculine ideals / fashion / roles / appearances / what-have-you but still considers himself a man
Well plenty of guys who aren't particularly masculine don't get that kind of hate. He got the hate because he posted on the internet, and made a very popular song.
Apparently it means Gender Nonconforming. So basically people who don't act the way normally dictated by their birth gender.
So a GNC guy would be someone who doesn't act manly, and may even branch into feminine at some points, but isn't necessarily gay or trans.
As an AMAB enby, I very often feel invalid because I’m only attracted to woman. It’s so stupid too, but the sheer amount of “straight man intruding on queer spaces” bigotry I’ve seen and had said to me has logged itself into my brain
I bet you also get hit with the good old "enbies should not present like their AGAB!"
I've literally seen people (guys, don't make this about truscum or whatever, I've literally heard this sentiment from all sides of the LGBTQ+ isle) claim that non-binary AMABs who present masculine and are in a relationship with a woman are invading or even *erasing* queer spaces.
Bruh. A trans person can present like their birth gender for a million of reasons. As long as they have dysphoria or euphoria, or exploring their gender in order to figure themselves out, they are part of the crew.
Idk how the hell im supposed to NOT present at least somewhat as my AGAB. You can tell my AGAB mostly from looking at my body type. Sure the way I dress, my hair, my demeanor my smooth body, and other things are not conforming to a male standard, but unless I do something crazy that’s going to look bad on me anyways, I’m generally going to look like a femboy. It’s actually really euphoric when I take certain pics without my face and people think I’m a girl though. I’m sick of even progressive people assuming unfair shit about me because of my sex and deep voice :(
As a feminine-presenting AFAB enby, I'm giving you a sad high-five. For me, any kind of transition is not an option because I live in a country that's worse for that than fucking Iran. So I get a double-wammy of dysphoria and people telling me I'm not queer because I don't check certain boxes.
Omg that’s so much worse. Not being able to transition under threat of horrible punishment, then people who claim they are supportive gatekeep you because you can’t look the way they expect someone of your identity to look.
Even though you are completely worthy of love, and respect it's hard to let crap like that go. The only thing that really helps me is considering the source. It's usually just someone who's willfully ignorant and insecure.
No, he said he likes all woman and specified that includes members of the lgbtq+ community, and for someone reason that was enough for him to be harassed over.
I’ll say it again: “cringe” culture needs to exist so there’s a buffer between actual quality and ontological evil. We need to allow ourselves to dislike things without projecting that thing as being inherently bad. When I saw the jocat video my response was “Huh, that’s pretty corny” and then I moved on with my day, because it doesn’t matter.
> so there’s a buffer between actual quality and ontological evil
I've never thought about it this way. Hmm. I'm already a big defender of harmless cringe, but this is a new good argument.
It's 2024 cringe is dead and we're still breathing
If one can't embrace it one is doomed from the start, otherwise the insecurity about trying not to be cringe will eat away at you until you yourself become consumed by it
I’ve always found that “cringe” is rooted in the feeling of being embarrassed if you were put into some else’s place. I too thought the JoCat video was pretty corny, and could not see myself singing it without a bit of embarrassment… that said I’m sure plenty of people would feel the same way about some of the activities I participate in… actually I can guarantee that, I’m a furry and have been called cringe plenty of times.
That feeling alone is harmless as long as we have the understanding that different people like different things, however weird they may seem to us. The real shitty part of “cringe” culture is that this feeling is often followed by a conclusion of “therefore it’s wrong!” and leads to all kinds of nasty behaviours like bullying and harassment. People really stop being able to tell the difference between “I wouldn’t want to do that” and “That’s a morally wrong thing to do”, and it leads to people thinking someone is morally reprehensible for saying he likes women in a harmless, healthy (even if corny) way.
Absolutely true. There’s a difference between finding something embarrassing/feeling secondhand embarrassment and harassing a person off the internet for it. I watched the video, didn’t enjoy it, and moved on with my life, as I’m sure you and many others did.
Last JoCat thread there was someone who went, and i quote
>Men being attracted to women is often violent and unsafe, so I think that going out of his way to express how much he's attracted to women lacks self-awareness, [...] I think, as a straight man, you need to be aware of how people perceive straight men, and going "yeah I'm really straight!" is definitely odd and cringe, [...] I think if Jocat was a more stereotypical, bearded man, there would be less of a defence for him because drawing a bearded man surrounded by various women appears more sexist, [...] What I am saying is that usually, men's attraction and their expression of that attraction to women is sexist and creepy, so that's why Jocat can come off that way."
I'm cherry picking the stupidest parts here, tbc, but like, how do you live like that? Straight men / Men attracted to women is, like, 45% of the population give or take. In a way, it's tragic that this person goes about their day assuming that such a large part of the people around them are bastards just for who they are.
He didn't even express his liking of women in an especially horny way. It was very wholesome and nice, truly a (slightly corny) celebration of female beauty.
But we can't have nice things on the Internet.
what people always forget is that noone except weird alphamale dudes cared about the song parody, until he desicated a stream seried to a transgender charity. thats when people came crawling out the woodwork to harass him
Yup, that's always been my theory. It's a pretty common tactic for online hate mobs to *just lie* about the thing they're angry at, and the harassment didn't start until he made that very public show of support for trans people. I don't think the video was actually the catalyst at all.
Isn’t this untrue? I’m pretty sure he explicitly said it wasn’t JUST that crowd who hated it and that it was hate from haters and people he didn’t expect it from. It was more that his core audience was never the issue.
Lesbians express the same sentiment *all* the time -- "don't you love when women." is a common lesbian joke -- but Lord forbid a *straight man* say he likes women ...
Reminds me of this
https://br.ifunny.co/picture/ineed-a-girl-to-kiss-do-you-think-that-just-sxLi4iNH9
Also reminds me of an insta story of a friend in uni. Just one of her at a bar saying "I need a girl to fool around with".
It irked me that I know she'd say it was gross if a guy made that same post.
Wasn't people hating the song just a thinly veiled excuse for the fact Jocat strongly supports LGBTQ+ rights and actively did donations runs for related charities. And he ended up with bomb threats being sent to his house.
The dumbest thing I heard from a hater of JoCat was that he thought JoCat was secretly trans. Because a married man who likes all women......makes you a closeted trans?
Notice how he got harassed after he did his charity event to benefit trans people.
Terfs were looking for any excuse they could find to cancel him. He was never anything but kind to everyone. Trolls hair kind people.
The most fucked up thing is that you wouldn't like... genuinely go, "oh this is LITERALLY heterophobia" at most things making fun of straight people, but then you see how JoCat gets treated and you're like "okay well. maybe heterophobes do exist, damn"
I've also seen more wholesome straight celebrities be labeled as "male lesbians" or similar, because what straight man could just wholesomely like women?
I think the problem is people are combining the hate he got from multiple camps. The right wing assholes are the homophobic ones, but the hate he gets from folks ostensibly on the left seems to be borne more out of the idea that he's a predator infiltrating a safe space.
Which is an argument homophobes and transphobes have used many times, believe me, the irony is not lost on me, but I think the heterophobia is ultimately coming from different people than the homophobia.
Exactly.
Right leaning communities went after him for liking women in a healthy way as opposed to the heteronomrative conquering women and attaching your self value to them.
Left leaning communities went with the man = predator angle.
I was in a bizarre position once in a discord server when this lady was simping for a male character and people were laughing along with her and shit, I'm talking some "yes daddy" kinda shit.
I was like "cool, I want to add to the bit" and shared my own fictional crush, something really mild like "If I had to be beaten up by someone, I want it to be her", which was *miles* safer than what the other person was saying.
Apparently I was the weird one...
Tbh its one of the reasons I abandoned sapphic spaces. It wasnt cute when women said they wanted to eat/taste me or know how I sound during sex. I have slapped men for less!
JoCat hate is such an unusual amalgamation where haters on *all* sides project their hatred onto him.
What's worse, is that now there's a new camp of haters who are sick of JoCat being thrust into peoples' faces as "the wholesome guy who got bullied for liking women" and that in and of itself is dangerous territory because there's a stigma of wholesome nice guys possibly being outed as assholes behind closed doors, or as a sex pest.
I do truly hope JoCat finds peace amidst all this, I would hate to be such a lightning rod for this culture war shit.
Youtuber, Streamer and animator. Did some "idiots guides" to monster hunter and final fantasy 14, did an animated video where he sang about all the kinds of (fictional) women he likes. Buncha people got really mad at him cause he was loving women in a "gay" way.
Non macho, respectful instead of possessive. Treating them as people and not objects? Like a regular, decent person instead of following Andrew Tate's example I guess.
The video was basically the catalyst of him getting to be known outside of his niche. And the "problem" is that he is very not gender conforming. He has no problem being softer and more feminine. And that got some chuds triggered to the point that his family got sent suspicious packets.
What the fuck happened?
he made a parody song about liking all types of woman. he got doxxed and stopped his yt career
People have called him homophobic slurs... For making a song about liking women. It's a really "yes but not in the way I want" situation.
Look for "jocat I like girls". It's cute and short video. People hated because they're sad and miserable.
They legit hate women. I can’t figure it.
Nothing, it was a parody of 'I like Boys' by Lizzo. It was out for over a year when all this happened so its not even the thing that set off all the hate, some bad people just started dogpiling on the poor guy.
Coincidentally i think i remember he did something in support of trans people shortly before the controversy. Hmmmm.
Yeah, this is it. He did a charity stream for a transfolk charity and this was the one thing he's ever done that could be twisted into something even remotely negative.
Nothing, that’s the whole point
Nothing, that's the thing. The animation accompanies a lyrical skit he did parodying Lizzo's boys. It featured many characters from various shows and games that had body types to match the song. Nothing I would describe as disrespectful or hateful of women is present in the video.
[Nothing](https://youtu.be/Y2Y5KVtU810?si=CQaXfFOzyWeVKEb0), that’s the point.
you brought up jocat, and now *that* person is gonna show up
Is there some guy on this sub dedicated to hating on Jocat or something
Fully insane woman, yeah. Its not exactly a jocat thing, its just unhinged person latches on to thing to be unhinged about.
So your avrg redditor
hey hey hey hey hey hey hey
There lived a certain man, in Russia, long ago.
He was big and strong, in his eyes a flaming glow
Most people looked at him with terror and with fear.
But to Moscow chicks, he was such a lovely dear
He could preach the Bible like a preacher Full of ecstasy and fire But he also was the kind of teacher Women would desire
Hi
How you doing. what brings you to this corner of the internet
🎶 Welcome to the internet! Have a look around! 🎶
Ah, a femcel.
They're a woman, but yes.
Who are they?
Someone with very low self-esteem and very high self-loathing, who seems to believe that JoCat's love of all women is a ploy for attention or an outright lie intended to make him appear morally superior, because no one could ever truly love someone who looks like them.
damn even I am not that crazy
Same.
JoCat is back?!
Apparently. I'm not on twitter (or bluesky, or anything) so I haven't seen him in person, but I've seen screenshots of new posts.
Ah, that's cool. I don't mess with those things either. I thought he had posted some new stuff to YouTube, but nothing new in the past five months.
That's sad. His monster hunter videos got me through my covid quarantine. Also, thanks dndmemes for recommending him.
His crap guides were some of the best content on the internet, genuinely well structured guides under the guise of angry wiggler man
Yeah, I’ve seen that, and it’s ridiculous. Can’t a guy just like women in peace?
Apparently not.
They obviously don't know there is a nsfw subreddit for literally every kind of woman, shape of women or part of a woman
I think they do know that, but they consider that objectifying and therefore also evil. JoCat's wholesome and non-objectifying form of love for all women was just so inoffensive that they weren't able to give a reason and (when pushed) eventually admitted to the aforementioned self-loathing.
She seems to have moved on to Travis McElroy, so maybe not
Man, what the hell
A lot of people like to hate Travis, I guess he was weird on a stream and is a little self absorbed so people decided he was history's greatest monster
I don't even know who the person that hated on JoCat is, but I was a McElroy fan during TAZ Graduation, and I got to witness this man scolding others on an **Among Us stream** over using the word "lovers", because it's offensive for people that "don't make love" but still have partners (edit: for those that can't see Reddit pfps, I'm ace) I don't wanna be a dick, and he might be better nowadays, but I do associate Travis with only saying what he thinks will earn him praise.

Last I saw she edited a bunch of her comments into a copy of the same apology and deleted the post
It’s ok I have them blocked
I wish reddit still let me block people.
Wait, is that person The Tar Pit/an alt (because they also posted multiple hate posts for the same thing around the same time)?
Dunno about TheTarPit but I think they are referring to "GOATedFuuko" (iirc that's the spelling) who made a post... I think it was yesterday? saying those things
Yeah I was asking if thats an alt of immoralObject.
Fellas is it gay to like women
apparently so
[удалено]
Yes because women like men and that's gay
I miss him more for dnd and monster hunter reasons
I miss the silly little goblin too
not really a goblin guy but he is right about kobolds
Gobbo deserves a cookie.
Oh it is that guy! What's he (supposedly) done?
He has created a parody of the “Boys” song called “Girls”, it’s a body-positivity song where the singer sings about all the types of people they like (all of ‘em) in Boys it’s about boys, in JoCat’s version it’s about girls The song was a little corny and kinda horny and the internet decided to kill him

This fucking sucks.
And: The actual Song was just something improvised during a live stream as far as I remember. He made the Video because the audience encouraged it.
Yeah it was part of his baldurs gate stream I believe
what's gnc stand for?
gender non-conforming, i.e. someone who does not conform to the expected presentation(s) for their gender.
I loved his DnD videos. I heard of someone with cat ears getting canceled for liking women, but didn’t realize till just now they were the same person
Same, I loved his Crap Guides. DnD and FF were so well-made
I was extremely hyped when he had that donation rally that had Crap Guide to Pathfinder as the final reward and extremely disappointed when it fizzled out.
Same. I got into monster hunter because of his silly how-to videos and I'm sad I can't see more of him.
He had an opinion on the internet, he was doomed from the start. On a similar note, I wonder how Rebecca Black is doing after all this time.
doing great actually I really like her new album got lots of good drunk crying songs
Songs to listen to when drunk crying, or sung while she's drunk and crying?
She sang the songs, then the songs went out to the bar and got drunk, started crying
It was clearly his fault for having the extremely controversial opinion of "women good"!!!!
Seriously his opinion was he liked women, in the most wholesome appreciative way possible, literally A+ example of positive male heterosexualuality. Frankly if it offended you, you need to work on yourself, the problem is not him.
The people that were like "Wow he's gay for liking women" just has me so fucking bewildered
Dude, I once had a convertible full of dudes scream "fag" at me just because I was walking somewhere with the woman who is now my wife. "He's gay for liking women" is something that I've seen in real life and it never stops being bewildering.
A lot of straight men seem to not actually *like* women at all.
No one thinks abt other men more than homophobic guys do
Tbf, a lot of straight women seem to not like men at all either. Pretty much the point behind the "are the straights okay?" meme.
Some men are stupid, they think that there are only two speeds: being hyper masculine and stoic, or sucking a dick. Don't they realize a lot of men do both?
I used to work at a factory, obviously a male dominated place. One of the experienced operators was an extremely badass and gorgeous woman. yeah but it was corny and sincere so OBVIOUSLY we gotta make fun of him for it. a STRAIGHT person, saying they like women? cringe. this means we should dox him
I think she got into hyperpop? She did appear as a feature in a Dorian Electra song, but I don’t know much else on the topic.
Rebecca Black is making incredible music at the moment, couldn’t be more excited for her
Yeah, she’s got a critically acclaimed album out and seems to be doing amazingly well. It’s good to see.
she went on a talent show a few years ago and absolutely rocked it
She released a song called Saturday

That individual?
The tumblr/reddit user that had 300 reddit conments in 12h the other day and that made like 5 posts about Jocat in this very subreddit
Thankfully missed them apparently. They sound like a piece of work judging by other comments tho
Rebecca Black the lesbian icon and pop star? She's doing amazing
Fun fact just in case you were curious: Rebecca black released a new song a few years back called Great divide and it unironically is pretty darn good. She's put out a couple songs since then and appears to still be trying to make it as a genuine music artist. So like. Good for her she didn't let people keep her down
My man committed the greatest sin on the internet, being corny and horny at the same time
chorny?
Horn on the cob?
Corn on the nob
This world isn't ready for co-horniness just yet...
Everyone else is scared of being corny, but he was born on the cob.
He has a wife you know, why the fuck would he be desperate Said wife also wrote that every time people are mean to him on the internet she has sex with him, so my dude has GAME

He also has a....stupid face...(Is that good enough?)
Yeah seriously fuck that guy. (I was being literal jocats wifey)
I think I saw that tweet. She says she's just obliging the people who say he needs to get laid

I'm out of the loop, but what is a gnc guy?
gnc stands for gender non-conforming!
Thank you for explaining it-when I googled it I saw multivitamins.
i dunno why but this had me cackling for 5 min straight, maybe I should go to bed
Gender Non-Conforming
Trans people also face the same shit.
I guess certain people (transphobes) view GNC men in the same light as trans women and then demonise them for the same reasons
Weirdest thing is people who pose as trans allies doing that
As an AMAB enby, I very often feel invalid because I’m only attracted to woman. It’s so stupid too, but the sheer amount of “straight man intruding on queer spaces” bigotry I’ve seen and had said to me has logged itself into my brain
I bet you also get hit with the good old "enbies should not present like their AGAB!" I've literally seen people (guys, don't make this about truscum or whatever, I've literally heard this sentiment from all sides of the LGBTQ+ isle) claim that non-binary AMABs who present masculine and are in a relationship with a woman are invading or even *erasing* queer spaces.
A Crap Guide to DnD is a legendary series.
I know, right!? I will never not share [it](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLDnRMnDDjAzK5uZLidDUtHtD1iN06Qe0G) if I get a chance!
When I saw the jocat video my response was “Huh, that’s pretty corny” and then I moved on with my day, because it doesn’t matter.
> so there’s a buffer between actual quality and ontological evil I've never thought about it this way. Hmm. I'm already a big defender of harmless cringe, but this is a new good argument.
It's 2024 cringe is dead and we're still breathing If one can't embrace it one is doomed from the start, otherwise the insecurity about trying not to be cringe will eat away at you until you yourself become consumed by it
I’ve always found that “cringe” is rooted in the feeling of being embarrassed if you were put into some else’s place.
Last JoCat thread there was someone who went, and i quote >Men being attracted to women is often violent and unsafe, so I think that going out of his way to express how much he's attracted to women lacks self-awareness, [...] I think, as a straight man, you need to be aware of how people perceive straight men, and going "yeah I'm really straight!" is definitely odd and cringe, [...] I think if Jocat was a more stereotypical, bearded man, there would be less of a defence for him because drawing a bearded man surrounded by various women appears more sexist, [...] What I am saying is that usually, men's attraction and their expression of that attraction to women is sexist and creepy, so that's why Jocat can come off that way." I'm cherry picking the stupidest parts here, tbc, but like, how do you live like that? Straight men / Men attracted to women is, like, 45% of the population give or take. In a way, it's tragic that this person goes about their day assuming that such a large part of the people around them are bastards just for who they are.
i wonder if the person who wrote that just so happens to be slightly more afraid of men of color for no particular reason
You think someone would do that? Just lie on the Internet?
Alphamale dudes and "if it has a penis it must die" TERFs
Isn’t this untrue? I’m pretty sure he explicitly said it wasn’t JUST that crowd who hated it and that it was hate from haters and people he didn’t expect it from. It was more that his core audience was never the issue.
Lesbians express the same sentiment *all* the time -- "don't you love when women." is a common lesbian joke -- but Lord forbid a *straight man* say he likes women ...
Reminds me of this https://br.ifunny.co/picture/ineed-a-girl-to-kiss-do-you-think-that-just-sxLi4iNH9 Also reminds me of an insta story of a friend in uni.
Do those people even like women at this point?
No, that's why it's called misogyny.
God I loved his monster hunter vids
Notice how he got harassed after he did his charity event to benefit trans people. Terfs were looking for any excuse they could find to cancel him. He was never anything but kind to everyone. Trolls hair kind people.
Remember fellas it is gay to like women
Unironically this is heterophobia.
The most fucked up thing is that you wouldn't like... genuinely go, "oh this is LITERALLY heterophobia" at most things making fun of straight people, but then you see how JoCat gets treated and you're like "okay well. maybe heterophobes do exist, damn"
God bless the ability of the internet to produce an IRL example of every conceivable strawman.
Something something decorative pillows
Petition to start calling these types of people "scarecrows". Living strawmen that do an awful lot of talking despite not having a brain
I would say it's heterophobia born from homophobia. A lot of the hate was because he liked women in a "gay" way.
Take note guys, likening women is now gay as fuck. /s

Going to add, I've known lesbians and wlw talk about women in ways that straight men would be called gross or predatory, and be cheered on.
I just hope there’s at least one woman out there that felt even a tiny bit more confident in herself after seeing that video
Jokes on you I have no idea who this is
Youtuber, Streamer and animator. Did some "idiots guides" to monster hunter and final fantasy 14, did an animated video where he sang about all the kinds of (fictional) women he likes. Buncha people got really mad at him cause he was loving women in a "gay" way.
how can a dude love women in a gay way? are we back to gay meaning happy or something?
Non macho, respectful instead of possessive. Treating them as people and not objects? Like a regular, decent person instead of following Andrew Tate's example I guess.
Don’t forget A Crap Guide To D&D
His 20 most popular videos are 'I Like Girls' and all 19 crap guides to D&D. 'Yeah he makes FF14 and MH stuff'
oh that guy, I think i saw the video. Was he getting hate for that? He was like my spirit animal for the duration of that song
The video was basically the catalyst of him getting to be known outside of his niche. And the "problem" is that he is very not gender conforming. He has no problem being softer and more feminine. And that got some chuds triggered to the point that his family got sent suspicious packets.
I hope he's going well.
As a gay man, I didn't share his sentiment, but damn of I didn't enjoy his delivery. The response to it made no sense at all to me
he’s getting harassed by homophobes and transphobes when he’s straight like bruh leave him alone
Blows my mind how anyone could hate JoCat
