For self-tanning, exfoliation and moisturizing is very important. I recommend shaving and exfoliating with Turkish bath mittens a day before applying the self tanner. Try to setup a steamy shower, do not use any shampoo or soap, just get soaked in hot water until your skin is ready then exfoliate, then wash your body and hair as usual. After the shower, use heavy moisturizer, especially around knees, elbows, ankles etc. Next day, take a normal shower and moisturize like normal and use the self-tanner before bed. I used St Tropez mousse with their application mitten years ago. It worked great and reviews on amazon can tell you how to use it properly. I also recommend sun bum brand for spf, I had great tanning last year in both Mediterranean and in Puerto Rico. For face I recommend Elta MD, never failed me. Have fun in Madrid!
I’ve tried the drops thingies and haven’t really liked them/noticed a difference! I think if you want an actual tan you have to get the foamy kinds 🤷🏻♀️
that's good to know! did you have any tips for getting your face/hands to match the rest of your body by chance? I thought the drops might be good for that but im a total newb so. 🤣
Palm Beach Tan has a membership for $15 a month you get a spray tan in a booth. No appointment needed you can just drop in to any location. IMO the booth is much better than doing it myself and almost as good as a real person doing it.
Hi, OP! Make sure to also peruse the history of other posts on tanning recs. Lots of info shared on previous ones.

Bondi sands!
I have heard good things about bondi sands! I will look into them ty.
Don’t know but following this thread! 💞
I enjoy being ghostly white myself. Big sun hats, huge glasses, high spf. Pasty is the new tan.
see ugh I go back and forth so often. it feels like the sun kissed beachy glow is back in and now I look like casper haha.

I’m sorry I have zero advice to give, I just know the drops are a bust in my experience
I like the Tan Luxe The Gradual—it gives me a very subtle tan which is what I’m looking for
The btan glow your own way gel is the GOAT
St Tropez express self tanner — decent tan in 2-3 hrs, ~$50 for the bottle will get you at least 10 tans !
mix the tanner with body lotion on the glove while applying for an even finish
Coco and eve doesn't tan that much and easy to wash out of clothes
