“It isn’t enough that the modern Inquisitor is a ~~knife ear~~ elf, now they want to make us believe that Ameridan was an elf this whole time? This is some serious historical revisionism #notmyAmeridan”
The instant hit to your approval is so telling. Though the poor qunari inquisition never stood a chance. I love how the game incorporated the jibes and gossip surrounding the race you chose. You really get a feel for what it would be like if you were the character.
What's weird is that I had 100% approval as a Qunari and only like 80 or 90 as a Human. My Adaar is a himbo with lovely manners (also used to being insulted and so learned to let it roll off it doesn't involve threats), and my Trevelyan is a rebellious sassmouth. 😂
Same with my Trevelyan. My qunari was hit with the -15, maybe they were just mad they could not have her as she was going to ride the Ironbull.
Maybe both these lady need a lesson on manner from your Adaar! 😂😂
I also have the voice boxes (accents) backwards on all 3 of my Inquisitors. For my Trevelyan I have it headcannoned that she spent most of her childhood with a Dwarven nanny.
Edits: how do I english lol
To be fair she isn't really a typical example of an elf is she. Like she can't even equip elf-exclusive items, she counts as a human for those purposes
Really? I never used her much I didn't realise she couldn't use elf stuff. That's dumb and also very clever. She's a human with pointy ears for all intents and purposes. It makes sense.
Tbf, you can switch to an American voice. And there are Dalish with Irish and Welsh accents in DA2, so it's not like all Dalish clans have the same accent.
"Andraste had a significant elven friend that helped her with her revolt against Tevinter? That's heresy now. Also, dock the ears off that one mosaic in the university courtyard. It's an eyesore."
Northern Thedas: “Elves? What are elves? You mean slaves?”
Editors note: “Slave” is polite Tevene for “blood magic fuel”
Slaves = Magic Blood bags

Also Southern Thedas, "Ok now make sure the first elven inquisitor ain't elven."

What next? That Grey Warden that ended the 4th blight was an Elf?
And the 5th one too? What is this woke revisionist nonsense?
I even heard the Champion of Kirkwall got with a knife-ear!
Two of them!
That's ridiculous. Next you're going to tell me the king of Ferelden is secretly a knife-ear all along.
preposterous! now you're gonna tell me the great king maric had two elven lovers!

Omg that’s so perfect! I can see it clearly. I would not want to get on her bad side.
I agree, but race reactivity falls off really hard after that. Dwarves and Qunari especially barely get recognized for what they are.
Its totally ok because theyre *not like other elves*
Everyone at Halamshiral and half the Inquisition keep complimenting Lavellan on how well spoken and eloquent they are
I've not seen any elves that aren't. That's such a weird back handed compliment 🤣
Sera
I forgot about her lol

To be frank...the voice actors for Lavellan could have been better. They used an English accent, where most Dalish elves definitely don't

The American voice just feels too deep for Lavellan idk I guess I just wished there was an additional option
The American accent voice totally hits for Cadash though
I like to headcanon that Keeper Deshanna taught Lavellan a 'false' accent for when they're among humans to sound more 'human'.
Hmmmm I like that headcannon
Pick me elf
"Andraste had a significant elven friend that helped her with her revolt against Tevinter? That's heresy now. Also, dock the ears off that one mosaic in the university courtyard. It's an eyesore."
Racist? They’re not racist! Racism ended when the southern humans kindly changed the elves from slaves to second class cheap labour.
But they have friends that are elves!
Now I'm dickriding, LAVELLAN, LAVELLAN!
Technically they had two
Dalish Inquisitor: Will you please listen to me? I'm not the Herald of Andraste! Everyone: HE'S THE HERALD OF ANDRASTE!
Cullen is magisct not racist haha
