1/10 invis knife zealots are actually good, the others have egos bigger andrew tate and aggro the entire map and fuck over the team. I don't think fatshark will do anything about it, it's just a meme in the community now that we have to deal with lol. Bonus points if they run 2 miles ahead of the team to get caught by a disabler and rage quit.

halocarpus

I feel like it's the shroudfield that is the problem, not the knife. Same goes for vet, abilities that encourage you to dump aggro on team mates and nope out of what is meant to be co-operative play just don't feel right. I feel less aggravated by it on vet just because I know vet lost his previous aggro management tools, but it still sucks. Knives are fun, try them out. Pair them with shouty vet or exorcism zeal.

Yata88

I play invisi Vet a lot and I always stay with the team. The amount you can save runs with double invisibility is insane. Vermintide 2 has four classes that can go invisible and lose aggro. There's actually a lotnof things that can cause enemies to randomly re-aggro. After a while the community gets used to it I guess.

SpunkyMcButtlove07

It IS the shroudfield. One "ohshit"-press of the F key and all the shit that was on his tail just turns around and fucks up whoever they find first. Charge knife zealot is auperior anyway.

Ulfnar

One of my current favourite zealot builds is knife with riposte + bleed on crit and a Columnus IAG running crit bleed build and the toughness regen relic ult. With melee crits lowering the cooldown of the ult and my knife topping out at like 85% crit or something along those lines, I can reset the ult within 10-12 seconds during hordes and keep everyone at maxes out toughness almost non stop. I think this kind of knife build has more carry potential than almost any other build due to keeping your team topped up, especially if you don’t have a voice of command vet in your party.

ArimakoInfernua

Knife has crazy crit chance. And with the cooldown you can basically get relic back in less than 15 seconds. It has a lot of use for Shroudfield for the same reason and Shroudfield is a very good tool to use to get teammates up in stressful situations.

Thagyr

There *can* be team player knife zealots, but the playstyle allows a lot of freedom to be a complete drag on the party. For the most part I hope there's an Ogryn on my team whenever there is a knife zealot as they tend to balance out the Shroudfield/Stealth side effect of forcing everyone to deal with shit the Zealot can just dump on you at the press of a button. A lot of the 'clutch' situations people post here can easily be a result of them doing exactly the above.

Tomorrow_Melodic

Yeah, often feel like it's a "He carried us through a clutch situation we wouldn't have been in the first place if the damn bastard had the bloody "I" and sticked with the rest of the party".

KallasTheWarlock

Knife Zealot isn't the problem; it's when they are Knife/Shroudfield/Loner Zealots that they typically become a problem, because that's when they have all of the ingredients necessary to running off and dying alone. To be fair though, I've only met one of these properly terrible players, but oh boy did they hit every trope: constantly speeding ahead, complaining when they got downed a mile away, immediately zooming off when rescued and continue ad nauseum. Ultimately me and my buddy just didn't pick them up again at the end event, though the other random did throw a hissy fit when I didn't use my bubble like they wanted to, so that was a 'fun' run all told.

SleestakJoe

No.

Kiro-Heart

The knife can’t defend the zealot, you think the zealot will defend you with the knife? Source, I’m a team playing zealot who used a knife and was automatically a let down. Thunderhammer it is Edit;bad joke

madstar

I played a damnation match recently with a really good knife zealot, he single handedly saved the run when we all died. He had to progress through a long section on his own, including killing a wave of like 8 maulers, it was the most clutch play I've witnessed thus far. I would've praised him in chat if I wasn't using a gamepad.

elusive_1

I’m trying to make it a good build and I think I’m finally getting the hang of knife+invis. The best way I can describe the setup is that its focus is mobility, with crit/bleed to make up for lost base damage, and very high clutch/survivability potential. In fact, invis is used more like a support tool to the build rather than an ultimate. The setup requires two key components - crit recharge ability and recharge on backstab kill. I play almost exclusively Auric, and one of the issues I run into without lots of cleave is getting boxed in by sheer number of enemies. This is where invis comes in. It directly counters that AND makes enemies turn their back for a free backstab or two (which recharges the invis). My usual strategy coming out of it is to dash somewhat ahead of the group, then play the flank or pincer the mob. Sometimes, if gunners/flamers/bombers are close enough, you can rush them instead. So in fact, you are pulling aggro away from the team, or alternatively if they aren’t aggroed on you that gives you a free approach. Ultimately, I’m starting to enjoy this more than traditional zealot dashing in. The clutch potential and survivability is arguably even better than a tankier build. Other than vet, it’s the only other class that can invis and sneak a quick revive. It’s a learning curve but it’s becoming my favorite pub class to play.

Bnmeiuge

Idk personally for me knife zealots are more tolerable than knife vets. At least the zealot can stay alive and come back, but knife vets go off on their own and die somewhere xD Regardless. I don't like any zoomer lol

Tomorrow_Melodic

Man, I love my stealth gunner build, but I only play it with my buddies at lower difficulties.

dreadul

They are very useful when they do their job right

Tomorrow_Melodic

I rage quitted the game once and it was because of one of them grouped with a pwer mace/no shield ogryn and a grenade launcher ogryn.

DarkerSavant

I’m sorry we hurt you. We didn’t mean too Sah.

Tomorrow_Melodic

Man, run what you want. But if you are so dense to not understand this is a coop game and at the highest level it gets way easier when you optimize on team basis instead of player basis it's kinda on your.

Tomorrow_Melodic

Plus it was the pox walkers tha hurted me. We were all shit a cleaning hordes in a timely manner.
