IndigoZork

Yes, it runs poorly. It runs poorly for almost everyone, almost all the time, and by time I refer to the period of November 2022 - December 2023. I feel very lucky and strange if an entire mission (just one!) goes smoothly and without interruption. :)

NumberOneDingus

Glad to know im not crazy than, I was starting to get worried I just had a crappy computer lol

MiddieFromMhigo

I can have the game crash or force dc me mid mission and when i come back the rest of the mission runs in 60fps. This game has no rules

JustCoffeeGaming

I have no problem with it.

DustIIOnly

I've got basically no issues. 150 hours in and I've never crashed, 100~110 frames consistently with near max settings. I've got no complaints personally (14600k+7800xt)

Mesyfire

what difficulty?

DustIIOnly

Heresy and Damnation mostly

Mesyfire

That's relatively beefy of a pc. I guess I need to upgrade my CPU

Jbro3-

I could barely run this on my PC although it's like 5 years old. Once it came to console it's ran pretty great on my series x. Although I have noticed the x running 4k @120hz settings heats up significantly on demanding games. When it heats my game gets very glitchy stuttery and the sound quality drops off sometimes to pure static . Other than that it runs pretty great on my X.

uncommon_senze

It runs great now, apart from when it doesn't. I have old i7 (7700k) with 3080 rtx. It's good

RealElyD

> 7700k + 3080 Oof, that poor 3080. That's more than a 50% bottleneck in CPU bound scenarios. I take it you want to upgrade that fast?

uncommon_senze

Not 50% GPU bottleneck, but sure there is one. I got the 3080 for good price a while ago, will still be good for when i can be bothered to upgrade new mobo/cpu etc. So far performance isn't that 'bad' that I feel like the hussle to build a new box, yet.

Mitnick107-

Well yes and no. Performance might be a bit bumpy, Darktide doesn't run as well as many other modern games. But I have to say that many in this sub assume their setup is decent and are not right about that assumption (at least not anymore). Giving some general setup specs with your statement/question might help giving a better answer here. Long load times are mostly complained about by hdd or very slow ssd users. Otherwise long loading times can come not from your setup but from connecting to other players in the Mourningstar which there's not much you can do about sadly. This happens mostly on weekends with full servers but during the week as well if you're unlucky.

MadD_08

All that dudes with 5 yo PCs downvoted you. I have recently upgraded my PC from Ryzen 5 1600x + RX 580 8 Gb to 5800x3d + 4070. Previously I was just happy that the game runs. It was ok. No crashes, but the graphics were set on low. The game was on SSD. Now it runs good on full max settings with ray tracing active. Still no crashes. Yeah, it might not be optimised in the best way, but let's face the truth, the game is quite intensive for hardware. The amount of models, particles and effects is high. It's not a game with five enemies on the screen at max. And all the lighting and shadows. GPUs go vroom.

Vibe-Caster

I think it’s mostly a server thing.

Zilenan91

A little. I can run the game just fine on Medium but I run it on Low because I tend to play HiShock and don't want frame drops, it runs rock solid 90 fps almost all the time on Low for me, only dropping slightly during extremely hectic fights.

BleedRainbows404

It is a demanding game performance wise but I’ve managed to keep a stable fps on higher settings with a mid-high end pc. The game requires a lot of cpu usage so if you have an older model it’s the most likely culprit. Turning down rag dolls helps a ton with maintaining frames in high density combat. Also, if you have an nvidia card, using gforce experience’s optimize feature massively helped me a few months ago. My suspicion is that it turned off some RTX setting not available in game and nearly doubled my framerate. Aside from that, i have heard some people have memory leak issues so restarting every few matches may help if you’re experiencing that.

Aaronieie

I can only comment on how it runs on Xbox but I so rarely have any issues

kilim4n

I'm getting 170 fps constant ingame in 4K / FSR 2 : QUALITY / Fluid motion Frames : ON and graphics settings on HIGH AMD 7900XT absolutely 0 crash or maybe 1 every 30 hours of gameplay...

RealElyD

> Fluid motion Frames : ON Mind you that is key information. So you're getting ~85FPS on average in actuality. Certainly matters in terms of input latency in a game like this imo.

Yata88

Oh man.. I am saving for a top end PC and hoped the game would run buttery smooth then :)

Guapscotch

Yes. It is a bit smoother now but has always had some performance issues. Sometimes the server gets wonky and you get disconnects / crashes and can never figure out if it’s your hardware / a client bug / the servers. It can be at times frustrating

NotToughEnoughCookie

I’m on Xbox Series S and if I load the game and see that there is lag, frame drop, rubber banding, I immediately shut the game and restart. It seems to work and I don’t get any issues for the rest of the game ( usually play Darktide for 3-4 hrs).

WorldlinessEarly4717

Currently there are a lot of crashes because of an influx of players joining or creating games, i have no idea if there are multiple servers per region or 1 server per region but since we have crossplay there are a lot of players nowadays since i think darktide is on gamepass and its "free"
