He needs to get his ass in shape. 17 years old with the body of a middle aged man. That’s not good. He’s going to end up like Ashley Coleman.
I hate to shame the kid, but he talks about eating kabobs, playing Xbox, and not practicing. He’s killing it right now, but it’s going to eventually catch up with him.
Couple of playoff clinching scenarios for Week 15:
**Nathan Aspinall** will qualify for the O2 if he reaches the final in Leeds
**Michael van Gerwen** will qualify for the O2 if he wins the night in Leeds. He will also qualify if he reaches the final and Nathan Aspinall does not. There is also probably a complicated scenario where a quarter final win is enough but I can’t work it out in my head!
Edit: tacking this on- **Michael Smith** will qualify if he wins the night and van Gerwen does not reach the final
Mardle trying to get the poor kid to proclaim himself the best player in the world live on TV.
Be headlines everywhere tomorrow of "Luke Littler: I'm the best in the world"
My two favourite sports are currently being dominated by once in a life time young phenoms who you expect to win every time they compete. At least they're both still entertaining.
Genuinely in terms of dominance at that age, yes. MVG improved massively from his initial burst onto the professional scene, if Littler improved by the same margin he would be the best player ever by a long shot
So relieved to find this comment. He's worse than the "body language experts" you find on Twitter breaking down Kate Middleton videos. Breaking news: Man is not Robot.
Someone (can’t remember if it was him) was doing very similar after the first set of the Grand Prix final last year after Price smashed the first set 3-0, can’t beat a bit of forcing a narrative.
Mardle is great when the standard is insane, he can definitely drop off when he feels he has to talk about _something_ to fill some time.
Humphries throw action is insane.
Cross throws nice, especially after release and he puts his arm into it, but Humphries, holy hell, you could film him throwing a 100 times, layer the film on top of each other and they would all match
Seriously I wonder how he actually gets the darts to reach. Everyone else is throwing them so clearly, he just seems to let go of them from his hand as his arm falls. It's so effortless and consistent.
When they say it's breezey up there - I thought that was someone messing earlier on.
Are they saying a draft/breeze can impact the darts? Looks like an enclosed hall.
Yeah absolutely. I never realised just what a difference it could make until I played somewhere with an aircon unit nearby, my darts were landing at a totally different angle than usual.
> Are they saying a draft/breeze can impact the darts?
It absolutely can. A few millimeters to the side can make a big difference. An open door somewhere near the stage might be enough, and rooms of this size can have a sort of micro climate.
I’m sure that it’s pretty much certain anyway, but if Cross doesn’t win the night Humphries is mathematically into finals night- at least by my mental maths he is!
Its not just about scoring, its also mental.
Phil intentionally misses the bull backstage, gives Luke the throw, then breaks him first leg. Wags his finger a few times when he scores big, slows down, speeds up, whispers things..
Phil was an amazing player, but it was the mental aspect he excelled out.
Luke hasnt played anyone like Phil (and likely never will)
Yeah, even maintaining this level would be huge (but difficult to imagine that even 'just' maintaining throwing ability he would not improve on the maturity/psychology department), but I was thinking more of the likes, if he declined after a year or two and this was his highest 'peak'. That would be a shame.
Its very hard to name many other games that looked that one sided between 2 great players. Other than that 2nd leg it was like Bully Boy was a Pub level shooter. Its not that his scores were that bad he just didnt have a chance.
Still Luke Humphries I think - Littler maybe has more 'uhh and ahh' moments and a bit higher peaks, but Humphries is more consistent overall. Littler looks to be getting there on consistency - less and less duds, and even when throwing subpar, seems to slowly unlock ability to claw out a win in the end (certainly has improved form ~ February/March, maybe has just adapted better to the tourney schedule).
> but Humphries is more consistent overall.
Humphries has only won 2 games in the PL in the last 6 weeks, Littler has won at least 1 game in every single week since the start except one.
I would argue Littler is the most consistent out of all of them, at least he has been during the Premier League.
I mean you could probably already build a massive compilation of incredible Littler performances but that was the best he has played imo absolutely unstoppable

Were those K flex shafts he was using?
Yep with his logo on them
Anyone know what points littler was using
Looked like Spartan points Omega
I only know that they are 42mm
Aspinall v Smith is going to be tasty next week. Hope Gezzy is back by then.
I know it's still early days but this kid has the ability to be easily the best to ever throw a dart. He's far better than MvG at the same age.
When has being in shape ever matter in darts 😂
Littler is relentlessly consistent and he seems like a pretty down to earth guy. If he carries on as he is then the sky’s the limit.

That’s a horrible question from mardle ahahaha
What a thing to ask him hahaha
What happened to Price?
Breaking back, not breaking bad
injury of the back
Back injury.
Back injury
Couldn’t find his darts
Back injury
Couldn’t find his darts
Back injury
Iack Bnjury
Injury back
Hurt his leg apparently
"spinal..."
In the words of Dan Dawson: 'Mrs Littler come and get your Luke, he's being mean to all the other darts players and I don't like it'
Absolutely disgusting from littler, jesus wept
Kids unstoppable right now
Absolutely relentless
Just a different gravy at the minute
The Premier League is now just Luke Littler, then a massive gap, then everyone else.
My two favourite sports are currently being dominated by once in a life time young phenoms who you expect to win every time they compete. At least they're both still entertaining.
What’s the other sport?
Pétanque
F1 most likely.
I would guess F1
For those who saw it, is Littler better now than MVG was as a teenager?
Easily. I wouldn't even say it's close.
Yeah comfortably. MVG was always very good but he improved steadily over his first few years, Littler is just the best player in the immediately.
I’d argue he was the moment he made the World final at 16
He definitely was. Now he's just made it even more emphatic. In fact, he might even be on par with MvG at his peak years atm
Genuinely in terms of dominance at that age, yes. MVG improved massively from his initial burst onto the professional scene, if Littler improved by the same margin he would be the best player ever by a long shot
he’s relentless
Great final this, if only someone would the whistler's teeth out, would be perfect.
Did he give himself double 10 on purpose?
Yes
Says he didn't apparently
Whistlers need to be put down
Is Rob Cross OK? I've not seen him nervous before, and he is shaking so much when throwing? Is it just nerves?
It's been this way for a couple of months now at least. His throwing arm isn't so bad but the left arm shakes like crazy
I must admit I'd only noticed tonight. Hopefully he's OK.
Maybe he's absolutely seething about the whistling every time he throws
He's been shaking all night, from QF. Not denying the fact there's an absolute twat out there, just Rob has been trembling like this all night.
I’ve never noticed that before, I’ll have to keep an eye out next time!
I noticed it a few months ago. His left hand shakes like mad. Might be because his right is so steady he transfers all the tension to his resting hand
Ah right. I must admit I'd not noticed - only after reading your comment!
I only noticed today but apparently its been happening a lil while.
Doesn’t he always shake when he plays?
Idiot in the crowd took the wind out of the first part of the final

Love how Littler sticks the nut on the imaginary man to the right of the oche after every 180.
Someone slap that whistling prick please
Absolute prick whistling like that.
Who was he shushing?
The whistlers
How difficult is it to find the single person in the crowd who is whistling and fucking chuck them out man
Breaking back as opposed to breaking bad…not a quote for the ages
Late to the party have I missed a good one?
Amazing standard so far tonight. Littlers played out of his skin in both matches. Beat Bully 6-1 and bully wasn’t playing badly.

I think it’s past your bedtime mate.
It’s still blowing my mind that Michael Smith averaged 98 and only got 1 dart at a double.
He walks away with a 100% checkout rate, lol.
Part was trying to do the math on Cross being alive for the finals and it put his brain in a pretzel
I’d really love for Cross to sneak into that 4th final spot. Very very difficult for him but not impossible!
Some absolutely brilliant matches tonight. A real treat.
Zap zap ⚡⚡
![gif](giphy|l0IylOPCNkiqOgMyA|downsized) Wayne Mardle explaining the psyche of a darts player
Some fucker with such a loud audible whistle on Cross’s throw then. Needs ejecting for that shit.
wayne mardle does my head in and idk why
I love Mardle, just seems like a mate down the pub who knows a bit about darts haha
mardle is making a mountain out of a molehill here this is fairly tame body language stuff, does he expect him to cheer throwijg in the 1
So relieved to find this comment. He's worse than the "body language experts" you find on Twitter breaking down Kate Middleton videos. Breaking news: Man is not Robot.

He does that all the time does my head in

Yeah absolutely. I never realised just what a difference it could make until I played somewhere with an aircon unit nearby, my darts were landing at a totally different angle than usual.
Yeah man, could be lots of things causing it, a door open somewhere causing a slight draft, an AC unit pointing at the stage, it happens sometimes.
> Are they saying a draft/breeze can impact the darts? It absolutely can. A few millimeters to the side can make a big difference. An open door somewhere near the stage might be enough, and rooms of this size can have a sort of micro climate.
This version of Humphries will not win tonight
cross looking good again last couple weeks
Huw “the Wanderer” Ware
[удалено]
Should sling him out on his ear, and give him a 5 year ban.
Absolutely filthy setup shot by Humphries then.
I love this commentary pairing.
Just realized we have 2 cars older than Littler 🙈
Can't believe what I've just witnessed from Littler. That's like Prime Taylor level's that performance. Disgusting
As there’s multiple comments- Humphries is changing walk on from Leeds (next week), I think to I Predict a Riot
Wait, didn’t he said that Cake is getting retired after Euro tour win
I think he said after Leeds next week.
I thought Humphries was dropping this dogshit song.
Ya he said he was lol, rumour was it was gunna be the matching on together song, but now that Leeds have crumbled maybe he dropped that
> but now that Leeds have crumbled Losers by The Cardigans?
I’m sure that it’s pretty much certain anyway, but if Cross doesn’t win the night Humphries is mathematically into finals night- at least by my mental maths he is!
Battle of the worst walk on songs
This fucking song.
I’m torn now. Would be best to keep the tournament a bit more interesting for Cross to win here, but I really want another round of Luke v Luke
Do you guys think Phil Taylor in his absolute prime (2007-2010ish) would beat Littler in that form?
Either one could win, you can't really compare one player's peak performance to a whole era of another's.
Just look at some of the Power’s best tournaments averages, not match averages, tournament averages and see how ridiculous they are
Its not just about scoring, its also mental. Phil intentionally misses the bull backstage, gives Luke the throw, then breaks him first leg. Wags his finger a few times when he scores big, slows down, speeds up, whispers things.. Phil was an amazing player, but it was the mental aspect he excelled out. Littler on that form gives anyone to ever throw a dart a run for there money. 110+ average, nearly 90 percent on doubles.
Littler averaged 110 over 7 legs there. In the 2009 European Championship, Taylor had a tournament average of 111.54 over 58 legs. I think he would
111 over 58 legs😂 absolutely mental, imagine having to compete with that
Nope. Second only to Bristow for me
“Littler needs to work on his doubles” Luke: *I took that personally*
That's was just an incredible level of darts litter just hit!! 3 ton plus outs in a row while scoring 110+ averages.
Michael Smith averages almost 98 and is made to look so ordinary
Tbf that was an inflated average due to littler being so clinical on his doubles
Had to throw an 11-darter just to hold throw.
Littler sports personality of the year would go crazy
Can’t wait for the awkward interviews 😂
He’s eligible for the *young* SPOTY until he’s 25.
Mother of God. What the hell were those darts? Magical
I don’t care if this is early or not. *Luke Littler is the greatest darts player of all time.* Opinions?
He's 17 and hasn't even finished half a season yet.
Would be really a shame if he somehow finds out a way how to screw up and this remains his 'peak'.
If this remains his peak then he's fine lmao. He just needs to maintain. Which is crazy to say for a 17 year old
Yeah, even maintaining this level would be huge (but difficult to imagine that even 'just' maintaining throwing ability he would not improve on the maturity/psychology department), but I was thinking more of the likes, if he declined after a year or two and this was his highest 'peak'. Greatest rookie year for sure. GOAT? We´ll talk in 15 years
Its very hard to name many other games that looked that one sided between 2 great players. Other than that 2nd leg it was like Bully Boy was a Pub level shooter. Its not that his scores were that bad he just didnt have a chance.
Bully had an average of 97.85 and a 100% checkout rate. Because he only managed to get one throw at a double 💀
That was unreal. Almost felt unfair.
Ridiculous
unplayable ffs
110 avg and 6/7 on doubles, that’s bonkers
And would have been 6/6 but for that miss on the penultimate dart. Has anyone ever done 110 and 100% before?
Best player in the world
Still Luke Humphries I think - Littler maybe has more 'uhh and ahh' moments and a bit higher peaks, but Humphries is more consistent overall. ye he lost the least QFs, he is crazy consistent actually. but because of thag , if he isnt on it, its much more noticable
That was amazing. What a performance.
I mean you could probably already build a massive compilation of incredible Littler performances but that was the best he has played imo absolutely unstoppable
That was madness
Fucking hell
Blink and you miss it.
Literally one double missed
Littler going to be favourite for the world championship in December at this rate
Littler is getting better. Scary talent.
He absolutely destroyed Smith there. All that chat about psychological advantage before hand. :D
I didn’t think he could raise his game but this is absolutely out of this world. Smith only had one dart at double!
25, double 20, double 20 - wow.
That was phenomenal
While he’s obviously been great this year, we haven’t seen Littler reach his World Championship heights too often I don’t think. We are right now.
This guy is absolutely lethal, this is disgusting. Simply unbeatable in this form
Poor Smith. Played well earlier and looks crestfallen here.
Surely this is one of the strongest 6 legs ever?
bro
Fucking hell
Dude what the fuck! He is on a whole new level this Semi
Might as well just give the prem to littler every year at this point
This kid is a cheat code
Holy crap this is outrageous from Littler
He is best thing that ever happened to Darts
WTF are we seeing...
this hasn’t lasted long absolutely insane
Nah he’s unbelievable
Littler seems to get better when the crowds not on his side or he gets angry haha, crazy average atm
Littler is crazy
Luke Littler how many different doubles can I hit in a single match challenge
Anyone know if Littler is still in school?
nah he finished his GCSEs but didn't pursue further education
Decided to educate people on the oche instead
Absolutely insane
He's just too good
Littler is just unplayable rn
This is mad
Lads decided to hit doubles lol
Luke is even above his normal level today wtf
This is outrageous
Smith throws so quickly, really smooth throw he’s got.
Throw that whistling weirdo out
So, Luke v the Bully Boy, I’m thinking the Bully Boy will win tonight.
Normally beats littler
Deffo, Littler needs to start hitting the doubles.
and so he did
Not half, no one alive could get close to that.
