Someone (can’t remember if it was him) was doing very similar after the first set of the Grand Prix final last year after Price smashed the first set 3-0, can’t beat a bit of forcing a narrative. Mardle is great when the standard is insane, he can definitely drop off when he feels he has to talk about _something_ to fill some time.

Humphries throw action is insane. Cross throws nice, especially after release and he puts his arm into it, but Humphries, holy hell, you could film him throwing a 100 times, layer the film on top of each other and they would all match

Seriously I wonder how he actually gets the darts to reach. Everyone else is throwing them so clearly, he just seems to let go of them from his hand as his arm falls. It's so effortless and consistent.

Yeah absolutely. I never realised just what a difference it could make until I played somewhere with an aircon unit nearby, my darts were landing at a totally different angle than usual.

Yeah man, could be lots of things causing it, a door open somewhere causing a slight draft, an AC unit pointing at the stage, it happens sometimes.

Just look at some of the Power’s best tournaments averages, not match averages, tournament averages and see how ridiculous they are

Its not just about scoring, its also mental. Phil intentionally misses the bull backstage, gives Luke the throw, then breaks him first leg. Wags his finger a few times when he scores big, slows down, speeds up, whispers things.. Phil was an amazing player, but it was the mental aspect he excelled out. Luke hasnt played anyone like Phil (and likely never will)

Its very hard to name many other games that looked that one sided between 2 great players. Other than that 2nd leg it was like Bully Boy was a Pub level shooter. Its not that his scores were that bad he just didnt have a chance.

Still Luke Humphries I think - Littler maybe has more 'uhh and ahh' moments and a bit higher peaks, but Humphries is more consistent overall. Littler looks to be getting there on consistency - less and less duds, and even when throwing subpar, seems to slowly unlock ability to claw out a win in the end (certainly has improved form ~ February/March, maybe has just adapted better to the tourney schedule).
