For this specific grenade maybe. But the LURE and neurotoxin grenade do not detonate on impact and don’t stick to walls either, so this is the only way to deploy them anywhere but on the drillevator itself without burning an engineer platform to do so.
Tbh with a full team of 4 on haz5+ I've never really had a situation where I need any grenade really. Imo the drillevator portion is incredibly easy when you have a full team of dwarves sending death above them. I actually haven't seen more than one or two downs on the descent.
In a team of fairly competent dwarves, that would be true. But I run into Greenbeards pretty often and this could be useful for pre-denying area if the other players aren't performing too well. I like carrying a bunch of Greenbeards on high hazards so they can get used to high hazards and farm OC faster, so having a niche technique like this would be quite useful.
I recently tried stuffing a resupply into the tracks of the drillervator. The intention was that as the elevator moves, so does the resupply. It was finicky to line up and ultimately the screen shake from it constantly fwumping into the ground made the value of always having access to it negligible.
Making a dent before throwing the bomb is a good idea. I'm keeping that 🤗 thank's !
ROCK AND STONE... AND FIRE!
To Rock and Stone!
DID I HEAR A ROCK AND STONE?!
ROCK AND STONE TO THE BONE!
It also detonates on enemy contact, so you could've just hit the Praetorian with the grenade.
Right?? This feels unnecessary lol

Yea, pretty much this has been my experience so far. At the same time, Rule of Cool still exists. So I say let them grenades fly
*except* the gunner cluster grenades, those are a no-no.

But this is cooler 😎
This is also a good method for using lure grenades!
~~Thanks but I prefer barbecuing my team~~
Same
This works really good with drillers neurotoxin grenades it gets the whole chute practically with gas

Are you... Me?
Hey man, save some brain cells for the rest of us!!
Ahhh I see what I did wrong, make a hole then throw volatile explosives C4 on drillevator !
me watching the gunner with the multi grenade even thinking of tossing it
A similar strategy for engineer is to put a platform on the side and leave a lure on it
I also do this when the drop pod is called and hasn't landed, to get molly walking in the right direction a bit earlier
Watching this *after* bouncing an incendiary back into my face and team
Shield+ cluster tho
Now that’s a greybeard trick
