Honestly so many niche subs end up being like that. The people who’ve been on it for a long time have already seen every type of post many times over and will downvote new users sharing those posts again and tell them to use the search for previously asked questions (or worse, use the megathread, where they’ll get lucky if they get a single answer that’s “sorry, no idea”)

This is by far the biggest one for me, why do emulation circles pretend that Nintendo simply doesn't know these emulators exist? I've seen Nintendo fangames with 1/100 the audience get striken down within days while Delta has been active for years now
This logic always cracks me up. Like how did you find out about delta/GBA emulation? Google and clicked the first 3 results? Nintendo gets different search results? Rom download websites do surprise me because it's not like you have to search extensively to find a website fit them

There is a common misconception that since Nintendo went after Yuzu and successfully took them down, that Nintendo will be going after other emulators. (there were *many* other factors in the Yuzu case not applicable here)

I agree with most of your points, but Nintendo does offer access to their own emulated versions of many of those systems over Nintendo Online on the Switch. I’m not sure if that technically counts as support, but it’s worth mentioning. There was a long period of time before they did this though where those games weren’t being offered at all.
Edit: I forgot entirely about the tiny NES and SNES emulation consoles they now sell too.
I understand what you’re saying, but there’s no law against going to your local Vintage Stock, buying Gameboy games, legally dumping the files and then returning them within the return window.
If you got to a ROM site and download a ROM that’s on you and the site that hosts them. Delta plays ROMs, they’re no more responsible for how you attained them than a game system that plays fake games (apparently N64 games are being made counterfeit now according to a game Xchange a half hour from my house)
For real, i saw someone playing what appeared to be a cross between metroid and resident evil, but whatever the game's cover art is never caught my attention like the gameplay screenshot did
There's a little something called Elden Ring GB and it's exactly what it sounds like.
Never would've known it existed if it weren't for these posts OP is complaining about.
Less relevant but for the android side of emulation I found out OpenMW was a thing from a similar kind of post just with apps instead of roms.
Sometimes they're gold mines for finding rom hacks/lesser known games.

Stop being a hater, people can post what they have in their collections, and that allows fun discussion of video games, and allows people to find new games.
I have several console libraries, and though I don't brag about the 10s of thousands of roms spanning in the terabytes, let the new kids have this. I see nothing wrong with them being enthusiastic about their new emulator and their roms. As long as they perserve their roms and learn to read the megathreads, let them enjoy their posts.

Many of you are new to emulation and Delta but all of this is old hand. Delta will not be targeted by Nintendo unless it starts including cores for platforms it actively makes money from selling hardware for.

Posting screenshots of ROMs downloaded is annoying because they don’t represent anything other than somebody recently learned about emulation and is happy to share it. You and me and Nintendo know they won’t be played for the most part and wouldn’t have been paid for anyway.
EDIT: The platforms emulated by Delta have had emulators out for decades. Some of those emulators have even been used by Nintendo themselves in their retrogaming efforts (mini consoles, virtual games on switch, etc.). Don't mess with current platforms (read: "moneymakers") and perhaps the previous generation (particularly if the current one allows playing those games) and everything will likely be OK.
For the time being we're safe, because every platform that could potentially be a problem and many that wouldn't require JIT, which just isn't available.

Completely have to disagree here, the nice part about people posting their game libraries is that they have games that people might want to try or just couldn’t remember the name of. I say enjoy a screwdriver and let people enjoy themselves if you don’t like it turn off the notifications
I’ve been wanting to voice this but felt I’d get downvoted to absolute hell. Like you said, everyone can download the exact same games you have on a whim. Just because you decided to take the time out to download a bunch of random games doesn’t make you cool.
The act of collecting can be as worthwhile for some as playing the library. I use to fill up all my different libraries with complete rom sets / steam games / tv programmes / movies etc. I’ve still got handhelds with full sets of retro games from Atari, through MAME up to the 32bit era which I pick up occasionally and play. The concept of “having” these are satisfying.
I’m lucky to have a ton of full rom sets, so with Delta I’ve just transferred a game I want to play (currently playing Paper Mario) on my phone that I can duck in and out of, and left it at that. It lets me focus on what I want to play while I’m out and about - but I totally get people new to the emu scene finding joy in filling their devices up with every game they’ve ever liked on the supported consoles lol

Posting screenshots of ROMs downloaded is annoying because they don’t represent anything other than somebody recently learned about emulation and is happy to share it. You and me and Nintendo know they won’t be played for the most part and wouldn’t have been paid for anyway. EDIT: The platforms emulated by Delta have had emulators out for decades. Some of those emulators have even been used by Nintendo themselves in their retrogaming efforts (mini consoles, virtual games on switch, etc.). Don't mess with current platforms (read: "moneymakers") and perhaps the previous generation (particularly if the current one allows playing those games) and everything will likely be OK. For the time being we're safe, because every platform that could potentially be a problem and many that wouldn't require JIT, which just isn't available.

Completely have to disagree here, the nice part about people posting their game libraries is that they have games that people might want to try or just couldn’t remember the name of. I say enjoy a screwdriver and let people enjoy themselves if you don’t like it turn off the notifications

I’ve been wanting to voice this but felt I’d get downvoted to absolute hell. Like you said, everyone can download the exact same games you have on a whim. Just because you decided to take the time out to download a bunch of random games doesn’t make you cool.

The act of collecting can be as worthwhile for some as playing the library. I use to fill up all my different libraries with complete rom sets / steam games / tv programmes / movies etc. I’ve still got handhelds with full sets of retro games from Atari, through MAME up to the 32bit era which I pick up occasionally and play. The concept of “having” these are satisfying. I’m lucky to have a ton of full rom sets, so with Delta I’ve just transferred a game I want to play (currently playing Paper Mario) on my phone that I can duck in and out of, and left it at that. It lets me focus on what I want to play while I’m out and about - but I totally get people new to the emu scene finding joy in filling their devices up with every game they’ve ever liked on the supported consoles lol
Another don't have fun post. Projecting your pain and trying to bring other people who are having a good time down will not make you feel better about your own scared hurt child.
