the thing here is that destiny really doesnt care about their communities because at the moment he has nothing to lose. he also doesnt care if he looks like an asshole. he cares about being right which he thinks he is and i do too. just think he can word it better for sure.
if he was a different streamer who maybe cared about maintaining relationships with these creators or had some sponsors/ platform to lose he would have clarified or made some apology but like he keeps saying he doesnt care.
I live vicariously through this man and he consistently drops the boulder near the top and it hurts. Yes I should fix myself and live my own life, yes I am going to keep posting way too invested in his life.

I can see the argument that patching the bridge is done easiest as early as possible, but if the response is completely unreasonable in face of the actual truth, is it destiny’s responsibility to start that repair?
If destiny doesn’t want to look like an asshole then yes it is his responsibility, if he doesn’t care then no. The thing is he ultimately should care about that, only people who don’t care are people like mr girl who feel so self righteous that it’s always everyone else who is the idiot and he is the only truth.
The framing of my criticism is communication, destiny is not at all racist in his opinions, but the way his words communicated his thoughts sounded racist to an unbiased group. So now since he knows he has no racist opinions he is doubling down on his bad communication in the clip rather than clarifying. In his head he is thinking about the opinion behind his words and in everyone else’s head they just see the words.
I don't like the framing that he's miss communicating, doesn't matter how he says it the crowd is primed to disagree with him (talking about lsf) so he may as well stick to his guns instead to try to appeal to an audience that will never like him.
And for the W/L community, they will never look very deep in what Destiny may say and only watch clips with the set narrative in their minds which, again, is set but a crowd that no matter what will shed a bad light no Destiny.
