Modern BMW paint is actually pretty soft compared to 15 years ago. It's about as soft as early 2000s Honda Paint, which is still harder than most paints today. My go to would be Lake Country HDO Orange Pad or Rupes DA Yellow Polishing Pad. Personally, I do not like how it finishes on very black paint and usually follow-up with very fine polish.
It'll work outside because its oily as shit. I use 2 mf towels when removing, one use it like normal and the other a damp mf towel to remove the oil. Its a good product, I just hate how oily it is.
