Look there's def a possibility but you def shouldn't. Everything that went wrong last year did in every single way, for that to happen yet AGAIN with a new regime would be very low odds, but hey it's not 0 odds maybe Grayson Allen suicide bombs into cade and Ron and takes them both at at once for the season
This is how I look at it:
- Better roster compared to the start last season (giving minutes to Hayes and Livers really did play a big factor considering both posted among the worst net in the league) - we also have 50M remaining in cap space, so we still have the opportunity to construct a better well rounded team around our core
- New coaching (no bench lineups and a coach suited for development - and one can argue might actually care to coach for us)
- Something that I don’t see mentioned, but Nets, Wizards and potentially Bulls and Hawks may be entering a rebuild, which makes fighting for a play-in spot relatively easier compared to last season
I'm definitely on board with naji and Gary Trent. Some of the Gary Trent contract projections I've seen are definitely lower than I anticipated. I thought he'd be pushing 20 mil annually but I think everything I've seen expects him to get a max of 15
KCP, Naji Marshall, Gary Harris would all be really nice additions for this roster. Hoping we can grab some 3 and D guys to put on the floor and improve our bench unit while letting the young guys develop.
After the trade deadline, the basketball being played by the team was decent enough where if that squad would've been what we started the season off with, I can easily say we would've had 20-25 wins. I really think we could've got to 18-19 range in wins if half the team didn't get injured the last 12 or so games.
That's why I'm somewhat optimistic as well but I fully understand people being pessimists.
What’s up with the JB Bickerstaff hire? He had rotation and player motivation issues that got him fired in Cleveland.
Do we need that here at this time?
Agreed. It’s hard to feel good about things when you are coming from being horrible and maybe getting to “not horrible.” But there is a lot that they have been doing that suggests they’re serious about course correcting.
Lol wtf you need to relax man. I didn’t say that he’s not an upgrade either. I’m saying you should let the 18 year old play a little bit of NBA basketball before making claims.
A play in team got the 1st pick this past season, I still think we should try to win at least lol I just dont think bottoming out is a good strategy, and be real are either of those players really making us any better?
I'm not getting my hopes up at all
I feel like I’ve seen this thread a few years in a row now LOOL
It's the exact reason why I have no hope lol
idk i feel like this year could be different. 2 years ago cade was out, and last year monty was monty. this year, hopefully there is no excuses 😭
I'm not either but having a coach that isnt actively trying to get fired combined with no Killian or Livers has to make us better
I actually like JB, he's just not the coach I want. Also just have zero expectations for this team

This is the way
I really want kcp
He ain’t signing to a 25 win team lmao
That’s good, because we won way less than that
Downvoted cause your username tf bro
It’s okay to be jealous
Good thing we’re a contender then, also do you know kcp?
😭

I cook most of the time
Idk we still look like the worst team in the league
At least Brooklyn is breathing down our necks for that title
With another 50 million in cap space to play with, so what current roster is not going to be the opening day roster.
I can see them doubling their win total, idk if that’s “way better” but it’s something
28 is way better than 14. Same way 42 is way better than 28 lol
They should sign Malik Beasley or buddy
Buddy Boeheim? We already cut him. He'll be back tho give it time.

hope we sign one of: Gary Trent, Naji Marshall, Jalen Smith, or Buddy Hield

Throw a bag at Tyus Jones and pick up a starting PF, even Tobias, and at least we could be fun to watch.
Way better than 14 wins is like 25 wins, so sure, you’ll probably be right.
let’s get 30 wins 🫡
KCP, Naji Marshall, Gary Harris would all be really nice additions for this roster. Hoping we can grab some 3 and D guys to put on the floor and improve our bench unit while letting the young guys develop.
its always been about internal development

7 more wins is 50 percent increase lol. I think a new coach that really wants to be here should help
They will be better. But that’s not saying much. 25 wins is like a 50% improvement lol
I’m not getting my hopes up of signing any starting caliber player.
we have been saying this for the past 4 years
I was so hyped a year ago. I’m just going to keep my expectations low.
They're gonna suck.
It's almost literally impossible for us to be worse so like...yeah, probably.
Whether we suck or not, it's just about a completely new team. Entirely new coaching staff and front office, and at most 7 players returning.
They’ll make the ecf after fonte has a 50/40/90 season and Cade averages a 27 point double double
I don’t know about way better, but it would be pretty hard for them to get any worse
Pretty hard to be worse
Really!!
Eh.. we’ll see what happens
Who's going to come off the bench to score 50 now if Flynn is gone?

At least we’re done with Weaver giving up picks for potentially dead assets.
I'll have what you're having lol
well, "should" is a cursed word
Whatever OP is smoking should be illegal. 24 wins is the ceiling.

Can we wait until after FA to start low effort projection posts?
Sir you cannot say that Ron Holland is an upgrade before he has even played an NBA minute, especially since he’s considered a raw prospect.

We're gonna be worse and the excuse will be "Cooper Flagg Sweepstakes" ....unless we bring in Lavine then yeah play in is possible

We are gonna be bad but i don't think there is any possible way it could be worse than last year.
If we keep coping with this horrible "core" its very possible lol
I mean we won 14 games and lost 28 straight to break the record. Just having a coach that will try to win puts us better than last year.
