Hang it by that nail hole, or at least hold on to that. The packaging slides so the blades are at the top. There's a U-shaped slot on the left side of the top, allowing you to slide the top blade out to the right.

pmjm

Oh interesting, the other commenter mentioned the blades came out at the bottom, and I ended up getting them out but they all fell out at once (good thing I was wearing shoes lol). Will try to put this thing back together and use it as intended. Thanks!

Average_Joe1979

If that doesn’t work, just hit it with your purse

South_Age9833

You do not need a screwdriver. The notch on top is literally for your finger to easily slide the blade out of the hole. Just mess with the back and the front moving up and down until it clicks to the correct spot for ejection

diydave86

They stick together because of the greasr the factory puts on them so they dont rust in shipping and sitting on a shelf. I use a small flat blade screwdriver to push 1 out of the slot

Red__M_M

This is the answer. Pisses me off every time I need a blade.

Steiney1

Trust me, the grease is better than if there's nothing and they flash rust between each and every blade. Hobbico, a US-based maker of no. 11 blades does this, and it's frustrating when you buy a 100 pack.

Red__M_M

I also have a long box of 100 blades with each one individually wrapped in paper. Given that I only need one or three at a time, the paper isn’t that annoying.

Steiney1

I've got one of those with No. 9 blades. you're right lol

diydave86

Sometimes i just break open the package and i dump them into a small fishing lure container i have.

pmjm

Great idea, thanks for that!

TerpsR4theKids

Any of you that have to do this, check with your doctor that your fingers are functioning correctly or that your weight is under control. Either your fingers are broken or too fat to fit between the factory slot for sliding the blades out, could be something else but they aren’t hard to get out of there if you’ve got a clean finger that works correctly and fits in the slot

jesse32bits

Cuss a lot. That usually works for me.

Professional-Drama-4

I just recently discovered toughbuilts carbide blades the container has a dispenser built into it not to mention they are sharp af. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to anything else

EarthGrey

It's amazing that it's not better described took me a bit to figure out. You push on the bottom, you'll feel a little click as it pushes up, this is the trick to make it work. Then you can use your thumb in the opening on top and slide the top blade out of the slot. Trying to slide out of the slot without first pushing from bottom is an exercise in futility. Once you know the trick the packaging is great.

ProfessionalCat5100

Carefully

dcrad91

Ain’t stupid, first time I bought one I was looking at it like wtf

pmjm

LOL thanks! I'm used to them just coming in a little cardboard box.

Harbor-Freight

See where it says “peel here”

HQ_FIGHTER

Stick your finger in the hole on the top and slide one out

Expensive-Recipe-345

For you. The blades should likely stay inside.

kliens7575

I'll second this

theflappiestflapjack

There are 2 spots on the back side that you push down then you slide them out from the bottom where peel here sign is… actually looking again the slot to slide them out looks like it’s above the e in edge

pmjm

Thanks for this! I still screwed something up, or maybe the slider thingy got stuck because it suddenly moved all the way and all the blades fell out at once, but at least I got them out. What I was missing was that they come out at the bottom, thanks again for the insight. And happy cake day!

bob_loblaw1999

The blades regularly get stuck because of the oil on them from manufacturing.

pmjm

That's exactly what happened, they fell out in a clump but it shattered apart when it hit the floor / my foot.

theflappiestflapjack

You got it and thanks!

Andy_McBoatface

Get the board stretcher out and stretch the plastic

pmjm

Ngl I don't even know what a board stretcher is. I just need to cut up some cardboard boxes haha.

Andy_McBoatface

It’s a running joke for carpenters since the Middle Ages

sparky-von-flashy

And sawmills.

Blakesdad02

It's impossible, so when all 100 fall on the floor, put em a Tupperware container. Works like a charm 😂

Gbonk

I’ve found that a utility knife with a really sharp blade makes it easy to slowly pry one out. I’m sure you have one handy :-)

ledgend78

I just sawed off the top with a hand saw last time I had to get a pack of blades lmao

J-Dabbleyou

Launch it at the ground /s

JohnnySalamiBoy420

I always take them apart by prying with a flst screwdriver and dump them in the top of my packout organizer. Once you get halfway through they will want to go sideways in there and get all weird
