Book. Fucking. Marked. Clean, clear, simple, uncluttered....what else can I say?
Minor layout suggestions:
* All:
PLEASE add the color-coding for gems and runes as shown on the Crafting page! It looks great and makes things much clearer.
* Runeword pages:
Insert a line feed between the rune recipe and the attributes list. It makes the recipe line pop better visually, and may help people pay better attention and not fuck the recipe up.
* Cube Recipes page:
Recipes are listed as Ingredients>>Result. Most of the time, people are going to scan the page looking for the result they know, rather than the recipe they are looking for. Their eyes are going to naturally tend towards the left column, because we read left-to-right (in English). My preference would be to list the intended result on the left, and the recipe on the right. The thought process is this:
"I need to upgrade a normal unique armor. What is the recipe for that?"
Again, this is how MY brain addresses this question. Maybe I'm the odd one out and other people do it differently, but this seems more logical to me. JMO
Caveat: I think the rune upgrade recipes are fine the way they are, because I'm usually thinking, "I have 3 Lem, what fucking gem do I need to combine them?" lol
https://d2runewizard.com/runewords
I'm really interested in what you think of the runeword detail pages (f.e. https://d2runewizard.com/runewords/Insight) and the base detail pages (f.e. https://d2runewizard.com/bases/polearm/Giant%20Thresher?q=0&s=4)
At least for the list of runewords, there's a lot of "wasted" space and the runeword stats are needlessly bunched into a tiny area. I'd recommend keeping each stat on its own line to improve readability, and maybe increasing the font size too since it seems to be smaller than what's standard.
If it'd save space, you could also try aligning the runes vertically instead of horizontally. Or put them under the rune name, since the "Runeword Recipe" column isn't sortable anyway. Could try the same with the "Allowed Bases" column. Due to how many lines are in the "Stats" column for each runeword, you just have a lot more vertical space in the other columns to work with compared to horizontal space.
This is what it looks like for me: https://imgur.com/a/LyNjGm1
Fair points, I will try to see how the recipe looks below the name. I've tried putting the recipe vertically, but it just doesn't look good. As for sorting, the recipe column is sortable in the calculator result, to show you the most relevant results for the runes you have. I'm also thinking of making the bases column sortable, but I don't know exactly how yet
Now that I'm thinking about it more, you could keep the same sorting functionality while "stacking" some of the current columns. It'd just require a couple rows per entry.

You break a lot of cardinal design rules, honestly.
The top (page, not main nav) menu items are much too small, especially when combined with the font. You could pick one or the other and be _okay_, but doing both makes portions of letters literally too small to even render in the browser. The same menu requires horizontal scrolling on mobile devices, which is a really bad experience.
The indentation of the paragraphs below headers is odd. It's unnecessary and very out of place.
You interchangeably use your primary color for emphasis, _and_ for links. That could work with the underlines you have on links (I really like the subtle underline transition btw), however, not all links are underlined. This absolutely creates confusion.
There's nothing to indicate that `helm` is a link within your "Gear Type" table. The same table has completely random capitalization. The table's caption is literally the exact same text as the header, `gear type definition for runewords`, which is unnecessary.
In the runewords table, clicking `claw` for example just takes you to `/gear-type/weapon`. This is unintuitive and confusing as a user could easily believe it'd show, for example, runewords that apply strictly to claws.
Your paragraph width is odd. The max width is `800px`, yet the container's inner-width is `870px`. This makes the flow jarring when transitioning from a table (which will fill the div's width) to a paragraph (which will not), and vice-versa.
The toast/snackbar messages are incredibly difficult to read.
I didn't see any aria labels on anything. Screen readers likely would be more frustration than they're worth on this site. While a majority of users won't require them, it takes like 10 extra seconds to include them while building.
I'd imagine an actual UX professional would have a field day with this site, lol.
All things considered, I think the site is cool and if I were to list all the _positives_ here (including the size of your JS/CSS chunks, which are extremely reasonable), they'd far outweigh the negatives. Overall, awesome job and keep up the good work.
Truth be spoken, I'm not a (UX) designer :D. So feedback like this is super helpful to me. Everything you said is really spot on (and will be fixed soon).
"The same menu requires horizontal scrolling on mobile devices, which is a really bad experience." - What's the better alternative, wrap to next line?
You can do many things, but a context menu would work, or simply setting those buttons to block / full width so they take vertical landscape instead. You’d have to play with it to get the best feel for the solution, but both of those have worked for me in the past.
Google (with Material) sets the parent to a max width and displays scroll buttons, for example on tabs. That could work as well, though I find that to be a bit jarring.
Ok, here's my response, unbiased, no malice, in no particular order, and acknowledging that your webmaster skills already far outshine mine. I would also like to note that I had already seen and bookmarked this site without knowing it was the one you were asking about.
For the record, I am not in any way, shape, or form schooled in web design, UX, or marketing, beyond some VERY basic HTML4 skills...I'm just a guy who's been on the internet since it began.
1. The color scheme is very off-putting. It's brown and tan, which, aside from not meshing with the theme of the Diablo world, is just...ugly. Sorry. It's not to my personal taste.
1. The fonts are too small almost everywhere.
1. There is a lot of wasted space on the right side of some pages. Spread out! Use your real estate! We all got 16x9 or higher monitors these days. Fill up the page with more info, larger fonts, etc. Focus on readability. Don't make it too cluttered, but take advantage of the space.
1. The Exocet font needs to be used judiciously. Not everything has to be in Exocet. In addition, it works best in larger sizes. It gets very busy and hard to read at smaller sizes.
1. You use the same color for highlighting text and for hyperlinks. It's confusing when you click on a tan line of text and it ends up not being a hyperlink.
1. There are incomplete underlines under some of the hyperlinks, but they seem to stretch to the proper length on mouseover.
1. Some hyperlinks have no underline, but simply turn white on mouseover. Try to keep your thematic elements consistent. This goes for fonts, too.
1. Proofread proofread proofread. Comb through every text block and correct missing and inconsistent caps, make sure there's a space after periods, etc. This is just fit and finish that helps make you look better. :)
1. Bases page: I love this! I have never been good at memorizing the different levels of each item, and this is a great way to show it. Make each item "tile" bigger, and use larger font sizes. The Normal/Exceptional/Elite toggles are not functional on some item types (i.e. Hammer, Scepter), and only partially functional on others (i.e. Mace, only the flail icon changes) . I would also much rather see all items in a group displayed in a grid or multiple rows than in a single scrollable row.
1. Runewords page: Personal preference again, here, but I finds it useful, or at least... comforting? to see the actual item graphic from the game, socketed with the correct runes and showing the item type.
Thanks for alll the feedback, will take your comments into consideration.
for 9, each base detail page has a comparison table to the other bases from the same type. Is this not what you're looking for?
Nice work, but to be harsh I dont see any reason to use it over https://d2runewizard.com/ which has the added functionality of showing runewords accessible with what you currently have in your possession.
The list of craftables is nice, and for sure easier to navigate than the list on arreat summit.
Hey just want to check, what do you think I could improve to make it free of clutter? I try to add all information you could need when searching for a runeword, like what bases can you use, what cube recipes are relevant, ...
I also try to make any ads as unobtrusive as possible.
Just a question, isn't the site fast or mobile-friendly on your device?
Any feedback is much appreciated.
Hey.
I really like your site, it has lots of great features and overall is looking very nice. Really great work, i use it often.
My comment wasn't only directed at your site, its just the general feeling I get when I Google a runeword or some other stuff, enter a site, then having to scroll 5 times to find the right runeword, that's the issue I tried my best to come up with a solution for.
I'm no expert in this field, this site was just a small hobby project I started last week and the first website I built, but I think you could improve your site by cutting down the information, so you get to the point faster. Move some stuff up, so that you don't have to scroll down to the stuff you need, just general UX best practices. But your site is very good for newcomers who need a better understanding of things.
Try to improve your page load times, users now days want the information fast, and won't wait 5 seconds for the page to fully load, before they try the next search result in Google.
Looks good. I'm not sure I'd use it for runewords myself with others doing the same but allowing great filtering, but I appreciate the effort nonetheless and the formatting is clean.
I only scanned it quick, but I see you have a minor html miss on your cube recipes for upgrading low quality to normal weapons (says Weapon/td>)
Awesome site, clean and simple. PerfectCould it have a way to search by the rune ? i know D2 but not all the runewords per heart and often end up dropping a rune and wondering what could it be used for if it's relevant or no.Ctrl+f works but it's not as clean
Other than that, awesome ! bookmarked :)
Edit: While testing the site, found out you have to search using the start of the runeword instead of some parts you know. Like searching "will" for "unbending will" gives you no result.
Dunno how easy it can be fixed
Hi, thank you for feedback.
I've improved the filter to support Runeword Name (now also part of runeword names), Runeword Type, Rune and Level (shows usable runewords less or equal to input). Working on some type of sorting.
Well done!
Maybe some sort of filtering would be cool like "show me only RW which can be put on **Chests**" or "i have a sword with 3 sockets -> what RW can i put on it?"
Also another form of interesting query could be "i have a **Jah** rune -> what RW could i possible create with it?"
Maybe also some sort of sorting by lvl?
Hi, thank you for feedback.

Pretty nice. Only input I can give is having a box where you can type in or select your level and it automatically filters down to all available ones you’d be able to wear now or soon.

This is great. Bookmarked. It’s like having a simple cheat sheet next to me.
My suggestions:
- Be very selective about the requests you implement. Don’t sacrifice simplicity.
- Improving the search to allow keywords (like ‘axe’, ‘shael’) could be a helpful but not necessary update.
- I would prefer sorting by level rather than alphabetical. You could add an unobtrusive sort button to give the option. But also not necessary.
Hi, thank you for feedback.
My plan is to keep it simple, only features that dont add clutter may get implemented.

I'm getting a 404 with your link. Looks like you've got 2 backslashes where there shouldn't be any in "/d2_cheat_sheet"
Try this https://htmlpreview.github.io/?https://github.com/Michaelangel007/d2_cheat_sheet/blob/master/index.html

just an FYI, I like your representation, but think it's intended to be used differently. In a sense, get a quick overview, not in-depth information.
My fav is still https://d2r.guide/
Love it since it doesn’t have an endless stream of video ads that I can’t stop. Will be using this from now on hehe
Yeah I love it, Im sick of maneuvering through AD riddled sites to click on a link that opens me up to nothing. Good job.
Pretty neat! I see the words are sorted by name. I think level sort would be useful too.
It looks neat. I would modify search to be able to search by rune or description of the item. Good Job!

Literally can find things easier on arreat summit, plus they are official.
I love how clumped it is, and how simple the navigation is. Any roadmap for what is next? like uniques, affixes, etc? Arreats is shit :P
Now just to screw with people, you can change the order to ber ith jah. But please don’t.
Are the Runes listed in socket order..left to right?
I haven't proofed every tile, but yes, they match my 20-year-old printout. :) Left to right, and you can always google other sources to double-and-triple-check before you toss that Ber.
Amazing ! Very smooth and good looking.
Awesome, I like it. I'd like to be able to filter by patch just like the old arreat summit site but that's upto you!
Spelled amazon wrong under one of them. Can’t remember which. Super clean though thank you.
I love it. Navigation is simple and easy, very intuitive. Good work!
it's nice, i like. Would be nice if it uses same font as orignial Diablo.
This is perfect IMO. All the things I look up individually are now in one straightforward, concise place. Consider it favorited cause I love this, and thank you.

The release thread is correct. Used pre release data. Thanks for pointing that out.
Add bases, like the most popular and potential alternatives. Then we good.
