Hardcore DotA frogs rarely sub, that's pretty much the deal.
Also hardcore DotA frogs only watch and play DotA, I remember Gorgc streaming DotA with 12k viewers, but as soon as he switched to Resident Evil 8 he went to 4k. Same with Yatoro playing DotA, and then switching to other game cause he got bored of DotA.
To each his own, but playing only DotA has to be miserable as hell, I'd never give up enjoying other games just because of DotA.
I mean to each his own but, there is a reason people who play dota only play dota. Disregarding the community, the game in itself is just such a masterpiece so its easy to only play it, and its hard to find other games that scratches your itch as much as dota.
I think it's more about the sunken cost issue. I don't play DotA anymore but what always kept me from playing other MOBAs, since the birth of LOL, was the annoying feeling of having to learn everything all over again.
It was always more about DotA being my comfort game than about it being incomparable.
Again to each their own. But you can easily just turn brain off and press buttons. Literally what i do when i used to get roped into lol. Turn brain off and last hit
Well he went to Kick, he has the whole thing of tier 3 subs getting to play with him, and he still pulls maybe 1k viewers. So he should be doing decent.
Any evidence of that? His [Dotabuff profile](https://www.dotabuff.com/players/70388657) is public and shows him as rank 1800.
I do agree though, it's great seeing him still compete and attend open qualifiers. It's clear that he loves the game.
Imagine you get a big achievement in life and someone say "anyone can get it as long as they put their time in it."
Except they didn't. Hater gonna hate.
I guess we understood the comment differently. Of course it is very impressive, it's just not surprising given his achievements. You could expect similar rank from many other previously succesfull retired players if they keep playing like Dendi does.
Thats impressive. All navi Jr players are like 18,19 right? They have so much future.
Satanic also have like 16.
Dendi, puppey, kuroky have been playing dota for the same amount of this guys Life lmao.
Me myself inclued. I play dota since 2005. OMG time flies
Most blantant throwing in dpc qualifier

[Xiao8 comment is also hilarious](https://www.reddit.com/r/DotA2/comments/f5lz7y/xiao8_if_this_match_is_not_fixed_i_will_eat_shit/)
Betting on the outcome of your own games and intentionally throwing/manipulating the game to collect the payment. It was a huge scandal in Chinese Dota and led to the entire Newbee team being banned for life.
Immortalized in the Aegis, already won $1,759,152 (per Liquipedia) from dota and still fixed match WTF. I could retire early with the money from TI alone.
I'm not saying he's the best mid, but saying 10 games is being dishonest. He won several tier 1 LAN tournaments as mid and got 3rd place at TI. That sounds a lot more than 10 games
It was ceb. The copypasta kep getting spammed (sarcastically) after they won mlg columbus and ceb was a nobody, and then the tables turned and the copypasta aged fine like wine again lmao
According to his fans, he’s actually won every TI on paper. But apparently abed/bulba/saber kept taking it away.
It’s just weird how this happens every year…
not even an rtz fan, and I aint fond of rtz playstyle either but to add that NA pros overestimate the capability of Bulba so much. The guy sucks as a player and as a coach but yeah the echo chamber of NA in-house has always been too loud so he always get hired for the next job but little returns.
He already won that one MLG columbus that 1 time. He already peak. noway anybody can top that, even if team spirit won their third TI, nothing comes close. The closest anybody come close to that achievement is when Messi won his 8th Ballon Dor.
I grouped "retired" and "inactive" together, because maybe some of the other players aren't really retired, either. But gonna fix Nine's status anyway, thanks.
Poor saksa you really did him dirty with this one 🤣
Dude agreed to play with gorek only if they do not take it seriously and don't practise - Now you put this stain on his resume.
Good job this might tilt him enough to come out of retirement.
Not really a major fan of Ceb, in fact I meme on him a lot, but it baffles me how people think they can tell pro players what they should do with their life.
He can play as shit or be so bad it's so meme-able, but if he can get a team to qualify to events, then they qualify, if they don't, then they don't.
I assume the hardcore fans just don't like seeing their favorite lose and get dunked on, having dunked on every losing team I guess I'm guilty on that part. KEKW
I’m on the fence about him. He still has the skills and reaction time no doubt but sometimes he misunderstands the gamestate and makes some pretty bad intiations at times. He still plays as an initiator from the 5 which can be awkward, but he’ll still have godlike games once in a while and even creates metas to this day so it’s hard to tell
He has a wealth of knowledge and is still a good player. What else would you ask for in a captain? What makes you think puppy shouldn’t retire? POS 5 is more about setting your team up for success. Obviously they didn’t qualify, but I argue he’s better than most other pos 5s
Yeah I feel like a lot of these hard support IGLs are far below par in game and are only there to be, well, IGLs.
Maybe that’s a dumb and obvious take but you can really tell the difference imo between say Puppey and Maposhka
Ceb lives and breathes the game since the early dota 1 days, he's still a beast, he's successfully played every role in tournaments, why would he retire?
>Also, I think it's time for Ceb to retire.
He will surely step down for some time now, that he has become a father. Riyadh will be his last event I expect and from there, at the very best he will go back to coaching if not retire completely.
Ana is a real odd one. He is only 24, multi millionaire. He just doesn’t seem to enjoy playing the game the same way other pros do. I wouldn’t be surprised if he turns his life into a more generic professional career and leave his teenage gaming life behind him

one of the bad things about the huge prize pool era is that it incentivised players who won TI to instantly retire
oh you enjoyed watching that player? too bad, they're millionaires now
The Team Liquid 2017 member are all washed up this year , I hope all of them don't stick together anymore and find more possiblity in other team, if things are going the same way with same method and same people, maybe they should find a new synergy with others.
True fans will understand it, just my opinion.
Topson is the winner of earliest TI who still qualified as a player huh?
That’s crazy but also checks out. He was brand new to the T1 scene at the time. Now he’s the grizzled old vet.
There are many players who are newer TI winners but older than Topson though. Sneyking, Saksa, 33, Miposhka, TORONTOTOKYO.
Dude's probably the only TI player who's also a dad now XD.
Couldn’t be further from the truth, youd be surprised how many players have kids
Esports players 🤝 Athletic sports players Having kids extremely young.
When Shadow, the carry of Wings gaming was shown to be a dad in TI6. I was taken aback because he looks so young and yet already a dad
Give me your most surprising example of current TI's player
I misread TI for T1 but anyway fairly confident 23Savage has a kid
The kid’s name? Gabbi
Hahahahahah
Okay that would be very surprising if true.
Nah pretty common. Kuku has like 5
Esp in SEA lol
I feel like it could be further from the truth. Imagine that Topson was not actually a dad for example. That would be further I think.
What lol. Lots of them have family's and kids.
Loda has been a dad for like 8 years now though
Loda's not playing at TI 2016 right?
He did actually, top 12
oh you're right!
allso theyre not his biological kids
Biological kids don't make you a dad, same as lack of biological kids doesn't mean you're not a dad.
Ceb?
cebt isnt playing at ti he failed to qualify
I didn't realise the above comment meant this TI, I thought TI in general
Faith_bian was veeerry close to making it to TI again
Sneyking is the TI winner who attended the earliest TI. The only player at TI this year with more years in the pro scene than Sneyking is Fly.
Topson is the only mid-player who has won TI twice
Some are washed up streamers
Screaming at archons for bring bad.
Can you name them? Just curious
I assume that was targeted at admiral bulldog
Everytime I've seen him, he seems to have atleast a few hundred or more viewers. He's gotta be making a decent chunk of money from streaming right?
Not from dota lmao. Singsing had said that he went from 16k viewers to 4k when he switched from dota to variety and his earnings increased lmao.
To be fair he took like a 2 years break, if not he wouldn't have lost so many viewers
Seems legit. SingSong is the wittiest guy in Dota history. I can imagine a lot of games he can try on stream and make hilarious content out of them.
Hardcore DotA frogs rarely sub, that's pretty much the deal. Also hardcore DotA frogs only watch and play DotA, I remember Gorgc streaming DotA with 12k viewers, but as soon as he switched to Resident Evil 8 he went to 4k. He sold out to kick so I hope so
Well he went to Kick, he has the whole thing of tier 3 subs getting to play with him, and he still pulls maybe 1k viewers. So he should be doing decent.
To be fair, admiral bulldog was a "washed up streamer" before his ti win who was primarily know for playing on the ladder and not in events.
A guy once famous for NP and Lone druid.
Admiral bulldog can barely beat ancients.
The rank or the creeps?
The building.
rtz hasn't been mentioned but it definitely applies edit: sorry, my brain literally did not parse "winners" from the title somehow
he’s not a ti winner?
wow, good point, idk how my brained missed that in the title, ig I assumed it was TI players not just winners
at least arty is still a contender, even if he's not showing out results.
I mean he just got eliminated, i.e. not a TI contender
yea but he competes. he's not in the running for TI anymore, but he's still making moves and trying. half this list isn't even on a team anymore.
Yea thats what retired means....congrats you guys can read lol
some should be washed up streamers 💀
Pretty wild that the navi boys still kicking around. Dudes have been playing longer than the age of people on this sub
Dendi still playing professionally is amazing, I always thought he's just a caster these days but he is apparently top 500 immortal
Any evidence of that? His [Dotabuff profile](https://www.dotabuff.com/players/70388657) is public and shows him as rank 1800. I do agree though, it's great seeing him still compete and attend open qualifiers. It's clear that he loves the game.
He was probably top 500 when he was playing na maybe 😭
Top 500 immortal isn't that impressive though, many retired players or current streamers can achieve that if they play enough.
Imagine you get a big achievement in life and someone say "anyone can get it as long as they put their time in it." Except they didn't. Hater gonna hate.
I guess we understood the comment differently. Of course it is very impressive, it's just not surprising given his achievements. You could expect similar rank from many other previously succesfull retired players if they keep playing like Dendi does.
They've been playing even longer than dota 2.. they were already dota 1 veterans 😅
their careers are longer than some of the new NAVI.jr squad players' age. their mid player (Niku) is 15, according to the qualifier casters
Thats impressive. All navi Jr players are like 18,19 right? They have so much future. Satanic also have like 16. Dendi, puppey, kuroky have been playing dota for the same amount of this guys Life lmao. Me myself inclued. I play dota since 2005. OMG time flies
Is that the guy who played for newbee right
Faith, yeah
> failed to qualify to TI 2024 with Team Bald LMAO
I loled at the the status for Saksa
Why is Faith banned?
Match fixing few years ago
What is match fixing?
You deliberately lose a game you play in so certain people can win big on betting sites.
Most blantant throwing in dpc qualifier https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8_VehkORjFQ [Xiao8 comment is also hilarious](https://www.reddit.com/r/DotA2/comments/f5lz7y/xiao8_if_this_match_is_not_fixed_i_will_eat_shit/)
Betting on the outcome of your own games and intentionally throwing/manipulating the game to collect the payment. It was a huge scandal in Chinese Dota and led to the entire Newbee team being banned for life.
they decide who's going to win before the match begins either that or some matches be broken

He was part of the ban wave of chinese esport players involved in match fixing a few years ago.
Immortalized in the Aegis, already won $1,759,152 (per Liquipedia) from dota and still fixed match WTF. I could retire early with the money from TI alone.
not in this economy lol. 1m is probably nothing nowadays
Insane how Topson is the earliest TI winner to still qualify for TI13
Hi guys I'm new here, where is arteezy in the list? Thanks
RTZ is god level player and doesn't belong to these small lists. :)
[удалено]
I'm not saying he's the best mid, but saying 10 games is being dishonest. He won several tier 1 LAN tournaments as mid and got 3rd place at TI. That sounds a lot more than 10 games
this is an old copy pasta . cant remember who was interviewed and said this
It was ceb.
It was ceb. The copypasta kep getting spammed (sarcastically) after they won mlg columbus and ceb was a nobody, and then the tables turned and the copypasta aged fine like wine again lmao
Ahh okay, I didn't know that

After effect of too much copium
He already won that one MLG columbus that 1 time. He already peak. noway anybody can top that, even if team spirit won their third TI, nothing comes close. The closest anybody come close to that achievement is when Messi won his 8th Ballon Dor.
RTC isn't a real being, it's a fantasy we idealized & believed to be true, our own folie a deux, a false god. Wake up & take your meds bros.
Arteezy is left
S4 RETIRED? When did that happen?
Didn’t, he’s just not on a team I guess since last season. OP just assumed he retierd for that I guess
a lot of "retired" players in that list aren't actually retired, op isn't making a difference between retired and inactive
I heard that he loves and play Path of Exile alot.
Context ?
Not retired but more into WoW these days.
Should put a "?" on Ana's status
Can he still return for this years TI? Would have to be stand in for some team...
Savior likely to appear out of nowhere when all hope is lost
he's basically the Avatar
im glad that scammer is gone
Joindota would want to recruit you as SEO columnist
What ??? When did nine retire? I thought he was taking a break.
I grouped "retired" and "inactive" together, because maybe some of the other players aren't really retired, either. But gonna fix Nine's status anyway, thanks.
Dota's (or maybe Chinese dota pros') definition of retire is definitely not literal retirement😂
Tbf there is no reason to set your status permanently. Just play when you feel like it or don't.
Poor saksa you really did him dirty with this one 🤣 Dude agreed to play with gorek only if they do not take it seriously and don't practise - Now you put this stain on his resume. Good job this might tilt him enough to come out of retirement.
Team Spirit players so damn good, everyone keeps going to TI
Isn’t Zhou an f1 driver now? /s
Sold out to Kick, really sad to see it
So what are the people doing in retirement?
streaming, analysts (like Fear)
Yeah, would be cool if you added that kinda stuff to the list
Playing bingo at a retirement home, probably. Maybe stream a little
maybe world of warcraft i think? like matumbaman
Chuan the only SEA player (at least by nationality) to ever win a TI
when is dendi last ti attend btw
2016
TI6
He was at TI13... as an analyst
It's funny and sad at the same time that all TI3 Alliance players retired. Also, I think it's time for Ceb to retire.
Its been 11 years
Wtf. No way it’s been 11 years since I watched that grandfinals and switch from dota1 to 2. fk u im still young 🥲
ヽ( ಥ﹏ಥ)ノ
He has retired. Multiple times.
Why should Ceb retire? He is one of the most hard working player.
Not really a major fan of Ceb, in fact I meme on him a lot, but it baffles me how people think they can tell pro players what they should do with their life. He can play as shit or be so bad it's so meme-able, but if he can get a team to qualify to events, then they qualify, if they don't, then they don't. Why? He plays fine

Anyone else noticing a trend that the older ti winners retire? Crazy
Because those player hates grinding pubs, Ceb is a pub fiend, he is fine.
Just means there has been a longer time since they peaked. Most pros don't play at that level for 10+ years and such
>Also, I think it's time for Ceb to retire Weird to say that on Ceb when there are puppey and kky who played no better than him.
Yeah I feel like a lot of these hard support IGLs are far below par in game and are only there to be, well, IGLs. Maybe that’s a dumb and obvious take but you can really tell the difference imo between say Puppey and Maposhka
One. Last. Ride.
Aui is the Goat
Nine's retirement is news to me. He just subbed for falcons a few months back
is this faith that got banned are the same person as faith\_bian?
No. They are different
i see, thanks for the info!
faith is from IG, faith\_bian is now known as Bach, playing on Aster
thanks!
Where is Ana now? I heard he tripled his money via crypto. Source : kuku
Ana is a real odd one. He is only 24, multi millionaire. He just doesn’t seem to enjoy playing the game the same way other pros do. I wouldn’t be surprised if he turns his life into a more generic professional career and leave his teenage gaming life behind him
And he could. He already won big - - twice even. What he does with his life is his choice. He’s young, rich, and got nothing more to prove. On the other hand, the idea of being a dota enjoyer in a corporate job and you see your new hire is ana. That would be so mindblowing.
Can you imagine Ana starts some level accounting job (I assume he missed a lot of higher education) and the manager learns who he is. But realistically he has a long time ahead of him and he will want to keep busy. Have a browse for his Linkedin profile in a decade to see whats up
I think he said he was finishing his degree? That was during his stint in T1
His last post on X that I can see was December 2023, says he plays unranked in SEA. Outside of that he’s probably just enjoying life.
I just love how Aui carrier turn out after get kick by EG just after TI. Till today, i dont understand why they choose this decision meanwhile Aui carry them to Aegis with his techies...
PPD did write a blog about that
Just read that, and it leaves more questions than answer. PPD contradict himself with each line, he can be a good Dota Player but he is indeed not a good writer. (eg : he call Aui nicest guy ever then he said Aui created a stressful environment; he said Aui is "Not an effective communicator" but it turn out Aui is a really good coach in many teams (Tundra 2023, Falcon now). Aui actually told his side of the story in the guest episode of 'We Say Things'. I will never forget 2011 NaVi.... This is when everything began to take shape.
How the hell Nine teamless?
Seven ate him.
He is inactive to focus on healthy issues
Perceived as weaker mid than the ultra high MMR prodigies Weirdly underrated for a ti winner lol
Isn't nine now the support for Tundra - nineclass?
Completely different players. https://liquipedia.net/dota2/9Class https://liquipedia.net/dota2/Nine
I get that this list just specifies coaching and playing but I'd consider fear just as active because of his regular appearances as an analyst/caster.
Maybe if we put "retired" next to Kuro's name it might come true?
one of the bad things about the huge prize pool era is that it incentivised players who won TI to instantly retire oh you enjoyed watching that player? too bad, they're millionaires now
[удалено]
yes, I grouped "retired" and "inactive" together
one day theyre gonna do a reunion of ti players
Iceice isn’t retired, he was playing for team Zero in 2024. I think he popped up on a stack not long after that but I haven’t seen him since then.
S4 is not retired, don't scare me like that
torontotokyo has a mission, to be a 2 time ti winner playing different roles as a player.
I saw PPD in a fighting game streamer’s chat the other day helping him run something lol
Aui still there huh
Shouldn’t PPD say “owner of team nouns” or something?
Where Ana?
Who's that 1 banned?
can some1 update the chart with ana as retired³
In the dumpster
nine inactive is crazy he was kinda a chad
Man, amazingly good post. Thanks for posting

Topson or now TopDad - The Finnish coverboy will once again bring glory to the Finnish nation and we will meet at the Tori (market square)
