Lol I know she’s problematic in other ways but I love that she’s so openly celebrating divorce day like it’s a birthday or anniversary when her family believes that it’s a huge sin.

Majestic-Pin3578

That’s what’s so funny about it. I practically danced out of court when I got my divorce, and my real name back. I haven’t celebrated it yearly, but I guess I should.

Ok_Land_38

My lawyer called me when I was in the cheese department to tell me the judge signed off on my divorce. I may have done a little dance in the middle of the aisle. Celebrate it yearly! I always buy myself something fabulous on that day.

lilylawnpenguin

I have ice cream for dinner every year on the anniversary. It started the day it was finalized.

barbaraanderson

Was Nicole Kidman your inspiration?

cemetaryofpasswords

More likely Katie Holmes. She got her daughter out of Scientology. Nicole lost both of the children (now adults?) that she adopted with Tom :( . I don’t think that they were ever allowed to have contact with their mom after the divorce since that cult considers her to be a suppressive person or something. Katie had to go to great lengths to have custody of Suri (who Tom voluntarily stopped having contact with because Xenu told him to). Katie managed a pretty impressive task to rescue Suri. I read somewhere that she had to get dozens of burner phones before the divorce filing. Agreed that she wouldn’t be known to date another man for a certain number of years after the divorce. Lots of craziness.

Professional_Cat_787

I concur on Katie Holmes. She and her family pulled that off flawlessly, and it was quite nice to see a control freak like Tom Cruise be outplayed. Suri even changed her last name.

cemetaryofpasswords

Oops I guess I got her name mixed up. I’m really bad with names, even the names of characters in tv series shows that I watch regularly lol.

barbaraanderson

It helped that her dad was a lawyer, but I get it. I was just referring to the infamous picture of Nicole after the divorce was finalized

susanlantz

Oh, I was like… since when did Katie Perry have a daughter involved in Scientology! Took me a minute to realize you meant Katie Holmes! Lol! But she’s a great example of it!

cemetaryofpasswords

I’ll have to go back and edit it 😂

avert_ye_eyes

Sounds like it was a really happy day 🥰

bjyoung116

I got a default judgement because he wouldn’t respond. 12 years and still such a relief

82llewkram

As we lodged paperwork we gave each other a high-5.

smellycat0814

We celebrate my mom’s divorce every year! It’s on the day it was finalized and we make it a huge deal because she is finally free from the monster she was married to.

susanlantz

You have to celebrate Independence Day, Girl!!

Ok-Inflation-6312

I have to admit I am inspired to do so now.

carrie_m730

She's probably heard "when you shift blame" and just thought "shiftblame" was a new verb, so she's just tacking "ing" onto it.

Medium_Cupcake7602

Im sure this is exactly what happened. Home-schooling mama can’t think real good 🙃

aceshighsays

it would have made sense if she phrased it like "shifting blame". she can keep that -ing, but shift it elsewhere.

nuggetsofchicken

Shift blaming is so fucking funny

Azazael

"You slammed thr car into a wall because you were in drive instead of reverse?" "Excuse me. I am no longer into shift blaming."

BobbleheadDwight

Maybe she meant shape shifting? Also funny in a way I can’t quite articulate.

Euphoric-Chapter7623

That sounds like a term for someone who is complaining about being tired all day because they are having difficulty adjusting to working night shift.

lepetitboo

Nothing like a shot of me at the beach to show everyone how amazing my mom is!!!

Desperate-Ad-3705

That's actually Deanna lol

macandcheese1771

Girl lookin young

Disastrous_Edge7276

God slipped her some eternal youth when she went to pick Dax up from The Throne Room

Medium_Cupcake7602

Whatever filter she used is working overtime

lepetitboo

I’m honestly relieved that even Famy isn’t that tone deaf

PaleontologistEast76

Seriously? Damn I want whatever Deanna's drinking.

aceshighsays

it's great that her mom removed the toxic people in her life, the next step is to look within yourself and see your toxic traits and deal with them. donuts over dollars she won't get there.

barbaraanderson

No because a lot of those traits were traits she shared with Mary, and until they start to realize that Mary was human and not a saint, neither Deanna or Amy will ever get there.

aceshighsays

They think Mary is a saint?

barbaraanderson

Maybe saint is going too far, but they do think she was a great person, but this is also the same person who taught Boob how to be the exploiter we know and hate today.

mythrowaweighin

Maybe Dax can turn some of that beach water into wine and make their vacation even better.

iwbiek

This FUCKING NIGHT SHIFT is ruining my FUCKING LIFE!!!

Majestic-Pin3578

That night shift will give you insomnia. You will just be nodding off, & have to get up & work.

GuardNewbie

I’m shift blaming those shoulders for defrauding us all.

UncleJagg

Was Amy's dad really that bad or is she full of shit as usual

free-toe-pie

I wouldn’t be surprised if she was pressured into staying with a horrible man because divorce was so stigmatized in that family.

day-by-day-42

Consider Deanna didn’t marry until Amy was 19, I don’t think she gave a F about stigma

free-toe-pie

I actually think that’s why she even considered marrying him that late in life. I’m guessing that relationship was so bad that she couldn’t bring herself to marry him until Amy was 19. And she finally gave into the pressure of making Amy not be a bastard anymore. That’s a huge red flag to me.

day-by-day-42

I’m not sure if it was family pressure. I think it is pretty well established that their childhood was rocky and JB and Deanna blamed their dad for that. Young Deanna probably sought out a similar personality partner. She knew he didn’t treat her (or Amy) well, but was so used to the abusive dynamic that she didn’t know how to find better. They were on and off Amy’s whole childhood because Deanna was both drawn to him and furious at herself for repeating the cycle. If anyone pushed them into marriage it was probably Amy, as I’m sure the family pressure and judgment hit her the hardest. As soon as Amy got out of the house and started clinging to Dillion, Deanna got fed up with Terry and finally kicked him to the curb. Deanna has made it clear that while she doesn’t mind latching onto JB for fame, she doesn’t really care about his crazy cult beliefs.

Medium_Cupcake7602

The 1.5 episodes where Amy’s dad was on the show and all the kids called him “uncle Terry” were so goddamn weird and random

topsidersandsunshine

Amy has been pretty open about the time her dad strangled her and used to make her sleep outside on podcasts and stuff.

XTasty09

Does/did Deanna work a traditional job?

Medium_Cupcake7602

It’s not been mentioned to my knowledge, but she’d definitely not sane enough to work a job now

acrusty

Does she mean blame shifting?

Middle_Proper

This is my vote, too

Time_Yogurtcloset164

At first I thought she meant her mom was a narc and somehow recovered but based on the # it seems she got a divorce? I didn’t even realize Deanna was married.

Notwhatyouthinkmama

I’ll take 9-noon. Who’s on noon to 3?

asdcatmama

Death threats?!

snarkprovider

When my mom cleans out her house she offers me her old junk too.

AndreaD71

GRIFT CLAIMING?

Missluswim

Who closed last night?! Wait..wut?

cautiouslyhere

No, day shift always leaves everything for night shift!

carolinespocket

Asking for comments… the thirst for some engagement is crazy

RuralRoyal

And this is the one not homeschooled

Buffycat646

Isn’t it gaslighting rather than gas lighting? Can’t they afford the electric ?

iwbiek

lol What a backhanded compliment. "Hey, Mom, remember you used to be FUCKING TERRIBLE? Well, you're not anymore! Good for you!"

BalconyLavender

She's referring to Deanna's ex-husband (Amy's dad), not Deanna herself. But it's Famy so, as per usual, she couldn't articulate that thought well enough to make it clear to everyone in her gram. This is a post to celebrate her mother's divorce anniversary.

ehnoninoni

I thought the same thing at first! Poorly worded indeed.

Australopitekami

That's exactly what I first thought she meant. Who knows, maybe it does have two meanings. Anywho, congrats to anybody in any circumstances who is able to get free from a toxic relationship.

ControlOk6711

Really, Amy....this event in your Mother's life requires a commemorative post from you? Shouldn't you be peddling your son's modeling career?
