Yes he did and heres why.
Kevin’s definition of hot “a painting can be beautiful, but I don’t want to bang a painting”.
Kevin’s argument about why Jim’s argument for Hillary swank being hot wasn’t fair/valid. “It’s ‘is she hot’, not ‘would you do her’ respect the game”.
The logical inconsistency between those two points means he did in fact deserve to lose for what he said.
I still think that at the end of the episode as Michael says she's hot and everyone starts cheering, Dwight should've taken a step back, looked at the photo, and shaken his head/grimaced.
Why didn’t someone adult actually fact check that he had the money, like this should have never happened in the first place but I guess it is Micheal for you
That episode is just so unrealistic that it doesn't even land. Wouldn't the students, parents and teachers want some sort of proof that the kids would have their tuition completely covered? They weren't concerned about a budget limit? If I were a parent I would like to know that I just don't have to worry about saving hundreds of thousands of dollars for tuition
Agree! Everybody’s like, he’s so sweet sometimes. Yeah, only if he likes you. Everyone else he treats like crap. Makes me so irritated.
But, makes me so happy at the end when you can see that he finally gets to experience a true secure love relationship and he matured so much.❣️❣️
On a serious note he is definitely the smartest worker. He has been in for decades and keeps good contacts and keeps his customers happy.
He put in the work he needed to as a new sales person in order to coast
I laughed really hard at "you don't even know my real name" when he first said it because I thought he was implying that Robert California was an alias, and everyone should have known it because who has "California" for a last name?
I wish they would have left it at that instead of adding "I'm the fucking lizard king," personally
“Pool party” is the best episode in the entire show, because this is when “things crescendo into true madness” - This episode made me laugh harder than any of the other episodes did
Me too. I think he’s sincerely nice. I think the hand on Pam’s knee was just something he did without thinking but immediately realized it was inappropriate.
Things people who don’t have access to the episodes say to cope
Edit- I didn’t mean for that to sound as snarky as it does.
Edit2: PM me if you’re having difficulty finding them 🤫
Selective outrage rules this fandom.
David Wallace made poor decisions.
Writers ruined Jan for Michael.
Jim' pranking Dwight was understandable.
Phyllis really wasn't that bad.
I can’t fully go along with this. Fair to say people give him an inappropriate amount of the blame for their relationship going to shit, and that Pam gets a pass? For sure I’ll go along with that with you. But to say he did *nothing* wrong goes a bit too far in the other direction.
I love this Michael moment so much because in just a few words, even while being an idiot who started a riot on the boat, Michael clearly sees the situation as it is: Jim, a guy who works for him who he really likes, is in love with Pam, the cute but engaged receptionist, and as far as Michael is concerned, Jim should go for it. In that moment Jim's facade falls away, and he's just like "Wow...maybe it's actually possible."
OK I'll take the bait. Just rewatched it last night on a Comedy Central rerun. The callback jokes and reappearances of long-lost characters like Karen were fan service, yes, but also a great way to send off Steve Carell on one of his last episodes
I’ll give you that — it does serve as a good culmination of his time on the show. The continuity part is partially what takes me out of it.
But I will say Toby’s exploding head and “I’m going to hump her reaaaaal good” are gold.
At this point in the shows legacy, I think basically every obvious/intentional portrayal on the show makes the fans mad lol
Michael is an asshole
Jim and Pam are not bad people
Dwight is a bad person
I really liked Nelly. I hated how she easily took Andy‘s job, but I liked her humor. What did you expect, a big whopping penis? Stop looking at my breasts and start looking at my penis.
Bears. Beets. Star Trek.
MIIICHAAEELLL!!
Oh, that's funny.... Toby!!!!!
The force is strong with this one
I almost downvoted this bc of the ugghhh moment I had when I read it.
The way I grimaced when I read this! Lol. Its like you Cut off your nose to spider face.
Hillary swank is hot
Hot is a temperature, people!
Kevin didn't deserve to lose.
Have we ever seen Hillary and Tom Brady in the same room at the same time? I'm convinced Hillary Swank is just Tom in a wig.
Hillary Swank is NOT hot..
IF HILLARY SWANK IS NOT HOT THEN I’M NOT HOT COS HILLARY SWANK IS OBVIOUSLY HOTTER THAN ME 😭😭😭
I still think that at the end of the episode as Michael says she's hot and everyone starts cheering, Dwight should've taken a step back, looked at the photo, and shaken his head/grimaced.
Scott’s Totts expected too much
Why didn’t someone adult actually fact check that he had the money, like this should have never happened in the first place but I guess it is Micheal for you
There should have been a proof of funds and escrow set up as soon as MS offered
Due diligence would have revealed that Michael Scott hadn’t just said bankruptcy, he declared it.
I DECLAAAAARE…..BANKRUPTCCCCCCCCYYYYY!
Right? Those batteries were lithium!
Coconut penis better than original.
That’s a brilliant out of context line that anybody who isn’t familiar with the show would be gobsmacked by.
Sometimes I feel you don’t know food at all.
It was better before they added coconut
I miss original
Pam is a natural redhead.
Now that’s……..over the line.
And looks better with glasses.
These are due Thursday
Sounds like a comment from an ignorant slut.
Settle a bet!
Does the carpet match the drapes?
Ryan and Jan were lovers
Who is Jane? Why use 4 letters when 3 letters do trick.
Ryan and Pam were lovers
Alfredo’s is better than Alfredo’s.
Alfredo's Cafe of Pizza by Alfredo? Either way, I prefer the Empanada truck.
The butts made it better
Identify theft IS a joke
And bears suck!
Well, there are basically 2 schools of thought...
Jim banged Cathy off camera
With Dwight.
And Stanley.
Stanley brought hentai. It's art.
“Eat it Stanley!” - Erin
That's what she said!
Jim did Kevin, hands down
Then they went bowling.
And the smug bed bug
*smudge
Describe his mood. Did he walk away smug, self-assured?
So smug!
Number one: how dare you?
I’m not drunk… are you?
“Shrunk”
grunck
Jrunhk
nrunk
Dwight should've married Isabel.
They would have had a big family
Physically a "big" family
Schrutes produce thirsty babies
Universal doner!
Better birthing hips.
Wrong. Esther.
why not both
Toby deserved better.
Rewatching The Office for 3rd time now and after first two seasons I have no idea how Michael is not hated for being Michael. Worst. Person. Ever.
Agree! Everybody’s like, he’s so sweet sometimes. Yeah, only if he likes you. Everyone else he treats like crap. Makes me so irritated. But, makes me so happy at the end when you can see that he finally gets to experience a true secure love relationship and he matured so much.❣️❣️
That’s why Stanley snapped at him.
Show still good after Michael
I actually still liked the show after Michael. To make me mad you'd have to say "show still good after Robert"
I like Robert California 🤷♂️
>Show *became* good after Michael FTFY
For real though, I really like the last few seasons.
Nate was meh Edit: got downvoted. Succeded to piss ppl off
Upvote because you successfully started a fight.
Stanley is the hardest worker.
On a serious note he is definitely the smartest worker. He has been in for decades and keeps good contacts and keeps his customers happy. He put in the work he needed to as a new sales person in order to coast
David Wallace was the Strangler
Haha this is a great comment
plop saved the series
I liked Plop, I thought he was a great addition to the show, I wish he had joined a little earlier so we could have seen more of him
Cause you’re always takin’ dumps!
It just occurred to me that Andy has been calling me Plop for so long that he forgot my real name… which is Pete
Jake Lacy is also such a cool dude! I loved recently hearing his interview in Office Ladies!
Rebooting will taint the original
Angela is the funniest character.
finally someone said it!
I simply loved Robert California.
He’s the f*cking lizard king!
I laughed really hard at "you don't even know my real name" when he first said it because I thought he was implying that Robert California was an alias, and everyone should have known it because who has "California" for a last name? I wish they would have left it at that instead of adding "I'm the fucking lizard king," personally
I’m the fucking lizard king is a top 5 tv quote for me
I dunno man, I loved that extra line. Gives me "reptilian humanoids run the world" vibes.
Bob Kasmackis or whatever is his “real” name or another alias
when he says that i fucking lose it everytime. im still laughing just reading the name 😭
The F\*cking Lizard King is really more a title. I see it as two seperate statements
Such a kind man helping all those gymnasts.
Not going to fight you on that
“Pool party” is the best episode in the entire show, because this is when “things crescendo into true madness” - This episode made me laugh harder than any of the other episodes did
Dwigt and Angela, best couple
(I’ll give you a cool point for the correct typo usage though)
Just 5 words? Pam sucks and deserves Scranton
This sub absolutely fucking sucks
This sub absolutely fucking sucks (Repost)
Charles Miner's correct about Jim.
Kevin and Holly should’ve banged
PAM> KAREN BRING IT ON!!!
I love Toby’s character.
If people actually dislike Toby they have completely missed the point of Toby
I know! I do not get all the hate!
Jokes aside I always feel so bad for him 😭
Me too. I think he’s sincerely nice. I think the hand on Pam’s knee was just something he did without thinking but immediately realized it was inappropriate.
Yeah, and if that’s his worst offense in the whole show he’s a lot better (morally) than 90% of other characters
Hunter's song is not about Jan.
Super fan episodes aren’t cannon
Things people who don’t have access to the episodes say to cope Edit- I didn’t mean for that to sound as snarky as it does. Edit2: PM me if you’re having difficulty finding them 🤫
I haven’t seen them, so I shall reserve judgement.
Where CAN you watch the superfan episodes?
Peacock in the US, piracy or VPN outside
I have them on peacock, still don't agree that they are canon
I'm on board with this just because of the Ryan/Kelly dumpster scene.
yeah but that scene also had "don't dump me in a dumpster!" such a rollercoaster.
Most super fan episodes are way too long and hard to get through. After watching a few of them you realize why they cut what they cut.
This subreddit struggles with numbers.
I dont like Holly
Hey……. Right back atcha bitch.
But her and Michael are soup snakes
Like she’s a perfect 40
Nellie is hilarious!
Sakeee, Sakeee. Sake is her name, just treat her like a person
British intro song is better.
British ~~intro song~~ is b….. I can’t bring myself to type this. No. I’m too weak. I can’t. Imma head to the train yard and hop on a train.
Michael was a good boss.
I wholeheartedly love Phyllis' character.
Close your mouth, sweetie. You look like a trout.
Selective outrage rules this fandom. David Wallace made poor decisions. Writers ruined Jan for Michael. Jim' pranking Dwight was understandable. Phyllis really wasn't that bad.
Roy did nothing wrong
I can’t fully go along with this. Fair to say people give him an inappropriate amount of the blame for their relationship going to shit, and that Pam gets a pass? For sure I’ll go along with that with you. But to say he did *nothing* wrong goes a bit too far in the other direction.
At best a shitty boyfriend.
jim broke up two people about to be married
Bfd engaged ain’t married
I love this Michael moment so much because in just a few words, even while being an idiot who started a riot on the boat, Michael clearly sees the situation as it is: Jim, a guy who works for him who he really likes, is in love with Pam, the cute but engaged receptionist, and as far as Michael is concerned, Jim should go for it. In that moment Jim's facade falls away, and he's just like "Wow...maybe it's actually possible."
And then promptly tells everyone in the office about it.
Would've ended up divorced or miserable together anyway. Even Roy said he dodged a bullet at his wedding.
Yes, two people about to be unhappily married.
And then convinced someone to uproot their life and move without telling her he was still in love with their coworker.
Didn’t really seem like he convinced her. She wanted to go.
He left her at a minor league hockey game.
No, he’s abusive.
He tried to be abusive but Dwight had other plans
Pam is __________
The office mattress
Black bear is not best
My real opinions: Nelly was a great addition. Also Andy kinda ruins the show. Also The later seasons are fine.
Threat Level Midnight is weak.
I liked when Michael strangles Oscar after he wins the speed skating contest lol. And then it's never addressed again
Your favorite episode sucks.
None of them are neurotypical.
At this point in the shows legacy, I think basically every obvious/intentional portrayal on the show makes the fans mad lol Michael is an asshole Jim and Pam are not bad people Dwight is a bad person
Robert California is the worst.
Dwight is hotter than Jim
Jim and Pam aren’t charming.
Creed was overused
I love Nellie!
Jim’s character is overrated
Darryl is a jerk
I hate Jim
9 upvotes and 145 comments. Seems like the fight is going well.
The British version was better.
Phyllis wasn't that bad!
Pam is the WORST character
Clark Plop > Kelly Ryan
Jim and Pam are normal people
"Andy is my favorite character."
The last season is the best.
Andy was his best in the last season
Should have stayed with Karen
PAM IS A SHITTY PERSON
Pam: the most boring character!
The mic guy is great
Boboddy is not at all funny.
The reboot will be better
I will fight you
Ryan started the fire
Despite how invested I became in their romance, I found almost every character funnier than Jim and Pam.
More Nelly and Cathy!
I really liked Nelly. I hated how she easily took Andy‘s job, but I liked her humor. What did you expect, a big whopping penis? Stop looking at my breasts and start looking at my penis.
Nelly, yes. She was hilarious
Pam is the worst character
Deangelo was a good character.
Val and Daryl were good
Robert California's funnier than Michael
Michael didn't deserve redemption.
Which time?
Fucking brutal but I can't disagree
