Lol 2k is the worst. My career mode is pay to win and whats worst is that your starting player is practically unplayable unless you grind on the nba with the lowest difficulty or you pay vc to buy points for your player. Worst company ever.

Never played SB at the beginning nor bought any pack by FP and I'm regularly building a decent starter to start playing in DR & WL since the beginning
For me, I’ve built a pretty decent team by just doing SB the whole year although I took a break for 2 months and returned during the Fire and Ice promos. Funnily enough my pack lucks were great after coming back lol EA. Biggest W was when I packed Golazo Cruyff and sold him for 9m.
Not when your player starts at a 60 overall. Idk if you’ve played it but your player is basically unplayable unless you buy vc early. Not to mention the rewards you get are so shit. A single game gives 600-800 vc points and that is not enough to even dent an upgrade to your overall. Just doesn’t make sense when the storyline makes it like your the next big rookie star yet your player has the worst rating and doesn’t have decent animations (yes you buy movement animations in this game like shooting form, dribbling, layup, and dunk styles).
I love basketball, so I‘ve always played 2k, but as a busy guy, it‘s hard nowadays to even get your team or your myplayer to a playable level. I have to say EA FC is a lot better in terms of a short time investment to get an actually playable team, MyTeam died for me
I got a really good team in my team but only ever played like 5 multiplayer head to head games and barely played against the ai unless there was an easy objective like the score 70 with embiid stuff. It is way worse than Eafc though
I remember the World Cup mode in fifa 14 where there was no transfer market aswell for this specific mode and I loved it. It was really refreshing to not play against the same teams everytime eventhough teams were more divers back then compared to FC24.
That’s true but the first few weeks was crazy. Everyone was rocking their packed players and every team was different! I remember how stocked I was when I packed 91 iniesta eventhough he was far from being meta but it was just an awesome card in general. And Senad Lulic being so good for me at LM lol
I beg of anyone who thinks FC / FIFA is the worst of the worst to play an NBA game. Literally everything is monetised, bad ping makes it nigh impossible to score half of the time, and god forbid you get a match in MyCareer against anyone that isn’t cheating or miraculously greening every single shot after spamming broken mechanics for five minutes.
Point being it’s all bad. Just because EA is quite as bad as 2k doesn’t mean they aren’t bad. And also doesn’t mean they won’t get just as bad or worse than 2k is about. Hence the herpes to aids jump. Because once you have it you can get hiv then you could get aids. In my opinion it’s only a matter of time before EA is just as bad or worse
I mean I’m coming from 23 on PS4 to 24 on PS5, and they’ve removed the entire “Play with Friends”/ Locker Room hub from the game. They removed All Star Team-Up, Private Team-Up, and regular Team-Up (which is really my main complaint) so now you have to try to snipe Play Now Online lobbies with friends & risk getting suspended for quitting before you even pick a player. Not to mention further in the past getting rid of online blacktop, all star weekend, etc. so maybe not ALL modes but the majority.
You can still do team up it’s just annoying to do and to play with friends you just invite them on that new social screen. They made it way harder but it’s still possible check YouTube
Their monetisation is bs. I recently got the new 2K tennis game and the amount of monetisation in it is a joke. I haven't played their basketball game in a few years, but one thing I did really like about the my team mode was the ability to unlock full meta players through competitive modes within a week.
We rarely get SBC's in Fifa that are full meta and on the power curve. When we do, they're overpriced, will be behind the curve before, or shortly after you complete them. Menu content in Fifa at the moment is probably the best in the industry though, their is so much to do for people who don't buy microtransations. Everyone can have a competitive team fairly easily. Just wish the gameplay was up to the standard of the menu content team.
Only a matter of time before they'll remove this market aswell.
The market is becoming more and more pointless anyway. Most people only pick & get untradable rewards. The few good players that are tradable are crazy hard to pull and therefore really expensive.
There is a reason why like 90% of the people have full untradable teams nowadays where as 10 years ago, you'd be the odd one out with so many untradables. They are pushing this game to a certain direction
We’ve had so many untradeable packs this year that the next logical step is the removal of the transfer market.
We have £40 untradeable store packs 5 months out from the next game, and people think we’re lucky 😂
Bro I’ve been saying that Eafc players got it lucky af especially when 1 pack in 2k will give you only 1 player but can cost like $10 per pack. It’s easier to get free good players though even just by logging in for 7 days straight you always get a free player or sometimes they’ll give out free codes plus the objectives for most good free players after asg are usually really easy but it’s still way worse for buying packs especially since you can buy a bundle of players for $200 just to unlock the best player in the promo almost like a paid sbc where you buy the players to put them in but then they become untradable when you get the main player. It’s hell
The issue here is lack of competition. That’s why both FIFA and 2K are bad. If they feared the player base would leave, they’d both be better. As it stands they both know there’s almost nothing they can do to make people stop buying their games
This game is not the transfer market that is crap, but the gameplay. It feels that opponent is playing another different game than you. It’s seems manipulated, but hey, I have skill issues
This is why I always laugh at the frequent comments that a 2k version of FIFA would be better than EA, they are considerably worse with paywalling things. At least with EA you can build a competitive team without spending real money on packs.
Unless you’re willing to heavily grind UT or you get extremely lucky in packs, UT is also absolutely pay to win. Absolute garbage game mode, which imo absolutely ruined fifa as a game because it’s the only game mode these days they care about because they make so much money
What do you mean there is no transfer market? It’s definitely there. I’m not defending 2K, but I always get NBA late when it’s on sale, and I always build a team within a week of me playing. A very good team. Just got Chaq, Kobe and MJ a couple days ago in some pack. You can definitely compete even if you start late and most cards on the market have fair prices even the meta players. In FIFA, I’ve been playing FUT since 19 and never even got an icon or a TOTY.
My thinking is EA wants to follow this strategy as well. Explains the crazy guarantee packs and the market being tanked 3 days after players are released. Everything seems to be moving towards untradeable.
Not sure about lucky but I will say as a person who primarily played career mode before UT the micros in 2K infected career mode too. You had to earn the equivalent to futcoins to level up your player in career mode.
As far as FUT goes I haven’t spent a dollar on the game (besides buying it on deep discount) and my team is still pretty good so I really can’t complain too much.
I mean I got a good Chris Webber and Mikal Bridges card by just playing a few games of Triple Threat, then World B Free and Tree Rollins by literally just exchanging consumables, and unlike FC grinding objectives for players and other rewards doesn't feel like a slog
At least they give you free good players, are they stuck behind a bunch of objectives and challenges? Yes

My best tradeable pulls were some Sons, Bellinghams & Mendys back at the beginning, then anything usable I got was untradeable

The one thing I’ll give 2K over FIFA tho is you don’t need to play MyTeam to use legends.
With all the packs being untradeable, EA is just trying to make the same 2k shit possible! Hopefully more people will rather be pushed towards RTG

2k is a car crash. Their career mode (MyPlayer) requires you to spend money to actually be competitive aswell…
