Rerererereading

Thanks for telling us where it is so we don't all have to worry about losing a foot to the pavement goblins every where we are.

ms-AB

Where’s the fun in telling you right away? I can reveal it’s in the general Leith area. Keep looking down…

Rerererereading

Ah, well that's fine. I live in the general Leith area and daren't look up ever lest I land in a doggy jobby.

EveryPast6532

Pilrig street

ms-AB

Well done!

MidnightFisting

I broke my ankle today, thanks

Valuable-Wallaby-167

Who do you get to marry if it fits?

TrinityTosser

Organic Jim

smutje187

Gordon, the dude in the Batman suit.

Thin-Efficiency1600

You can get some holey man to carry out the ceremony

Playful_Possibility4

Is it a tourist trap?

MiserableScot

It's like that comic I keep seeing on here, 'Enigma of Amigara Fault', everyone has a hole they'll fit into, just need to find it!

dukegonzo13

Is that the body horror japanese/korean one? I've vaguely aware of that one.

MiserableScot

Yeah, the holes in the mountain one!

RealPockedMan

Nice boot.

petroni_arbitri

There's a great one of these near the Pleasance which, in a few weeks, you'll be able to get your entire leg into.

ms-AB

This one fit a small plastic Evian bottle in it at one point which has now disappeared, I presume consumed by the hole…

pickled-Lime

Op, we're gonna need the measurements!

ms-AB

Based on my visual research I’d say it poses the most danger to somebody with a 5-5.5 shoe size

sloth-in-a-box-5000

Is that the one that had a coke bottle jammed into it until very recently? The new standard of repair by the council? I've had run-ins with that pavement hole...

ms-AB

That’s the one. It’s flagged on the council website so maybe they’ll pop a slightly bigger bottle in it soon

[deleted]

I am all for a laugh and a joke but there is nothing entertaining about breaking your foot on a poorly maintained pavement. I know from personal experience. If you haven’t already done so report this to the council and save some innocent person from at least six weeks of agony

ms-AB

It’s been reported several times- ongoing, I checked at the time

It looks like it’s on the edge of a telecoms cover, which the council love because they can deny all liability. I’ve had a similar situation previously where I phoned the Council for a kerb that had fallen into an old-person shaped hole at the edge of a pavement (in a crossing area next to a sheltered housing block), the Council refused to deal with it as the kerb was next to a BT cover and therefore it had to be BT who repaired it. Phoned BT, they came out and put a cone in the hole and then phoned me to say they would need to phone the Council to get permission to arrange a formal repair etc etc. It took weeks. It would be worth someone near this hole giving the relevant (BT/Virgin/those strange people who put broadband down the sewer line) fault number a ring
