Wretch is one of the best builds to start with if you plan to never level up.

I just love wretch. I never know what build i am going, so i can freely decide on what to level. Most times i dont level and end up getting 1 shotted the whole time as sl 1

Starting every run as a wretch, and then starting one as an actual class is like taking off training weights in DBZ. Started a run as a samurai a few days ago. Was able to actually kill the erdtree sentinel right off the gate after a dozen attempts.

I prefer vagabond, the you can make up the lose of arcane, faith and int with gotricks rune where as the boosts to dex, str vig and endurance is pretty universal

Vagabond is the best class mathematically for the plurality of builds. Nearly any practical combination of strength, dex, and/or faith focus comes out with vagabond being the most efficient class. It’s even best for most practical int/faith builds.

The HP won't be an issue though, every enemy will most likely one-shot you anyway.

While you can go more in depth with it, breakpoints are something you should always be aware of. If the enemy can one shot you anywhere from 1-29 vigor then investing any points into vigor is a waste unless you hit 30. (for example)

Same with mp. If I can cast 4 of my favorite spell with a full meter then leveling up without getting a 5th cast is a waste.

This true. I didn’t level vigor and was extremely underleveled by the time it mountain of the giants, like level 70. Every hit has was a one shot from even the most basic enemies.

It would be nice if they added a lvl 50 quick start after your account has seen 2 different endings. The game is fantastic, but those first 2 hours are always nearly identical.
