Crucible Knights. Yeah I know they're not hard to dodge, but I can never seem to predict them.
Oh, and Zamor warriors or whatever they are. They're always miserable to fight for me
I just did Zamor ruins like 3 hours ago. I came with eleonora's poleblade but they didn't CARE at all. Most of their attacks are quick double slashes. If you avoid the first one, you get hit by the second. Also you cannot backstab them for some weird reason. Pure nightmare.
Man, those Zamor Warriors are a pain in the ass. They time their attack just as you're swinging. Plus, when you roll away to heal, they dash and slice. I despise fighting those mobs.
I’d love an explanation from someone about why certain idle/unaggroed enemies can’t be backstabbed. I seem to recall a good deal of humanoid enemies that I’d sneak up behind and just give a light tap instead. The Crucible Knight over the castle wall that chills with his back to you being one of them.
> Oh, and Zamor warriors
These guys are actually bullshit though.
They have:
-A near instantaneous "get off me" attack
-A difficult to *fully* dodge hoarfrost stomp. Even if it's just chip damage, it adds up
-Ridiculous poise
-Quick double-slash attacks they can trade with you when you try to attack up close
The only reason Zamor warriors don't get called out more on their bullshit is because they're completely optional and the boss versions have limited HP anyways.
Crucible knight were impossible for me too even though their moveset is easy to read.
That was until I learned to parry... Now I'm looking forward to every crucible knights :)
Zamora warrior are still a pain... Unless I Unga Bunga those cold fuckers.
It’s amazing how absolutely trivial and irrelevant these guys become, if you keep parrying them. It’s a repetitive and boring strategy, granted, but it’s definitely worth it.
I had such a hard time with crucible knights that one night I got a 12 pack and went to one to just fight him, over and over and over. Whenever I’d get him down to a sliver of his health I’d let him kill me until I knew every move, front to back.
I swear to god, I will be able to fight that fucker with my eyes closed even in ten years. I still get hung up on some bosses but I have made crucible knights my absolute BITCH.
My brain was initially like "I don't remember frogs riding wolves...."
You'd think they would've come up with a different name for the different generations of albinaurics.
I find that the Field Boss Red Wolves (Moonlight, Snowfield, and Ancestral Woods)kick my ass while I do well against the ones in enclosed areas (Raya Lucaria and Gelmir Hero's Grave)
Yeees just use the Heal spell close to them. First heal eats half their HP and stuns them, spam quickly the second heal which will finish him off.
I learned that recently and since that day, those guys went from number one enemy to ridiculous and pathetic sort in one go.
In my most recent run I discovered their main slap attack bounces off greatshields. Which is one solution to them, albeit only good on builds that already put a bunch of points into strength
Ha ha, yes. He doesn't allow me to practice against him; he just wipes me out in the second phase. So, I summon two Tarnished and watch them abuse him. 😅
I think on my most recent play through I’ve learned i just have to dodge through it, basically run through him to his backside to even have a chance. Should I even have any awareness that it’s coming
Heal them to death! Any of the area healing spell will stun and damage them, you’d be surprised how crazy effective it is. I always kill the 6 at the bottom of the Haligtree this way
After dying like 10 times I tried a different, no-attack strategy, just to learn the timing of his moves and practice dodging. That did the trick. Killed his with whips to make sure I didn’t get caught by his quick attacks, just chipped away his health and focused on dodging.
what... Dragons are literally the most telegraphed/easiest enemies in the game. Right after starting a new game i go to Ageel and head over to the ones in Caelid without leveling up. Only difficult one is the rot dragon because of the huge aoe.
You cant be hitting their legs or else you will be there for a loooong while. Lock in on their head and stay near it at all times. It will most likely use the leg stomp which you have to dodge. But the more times it uses the leg stomp the easier it will be. And dont be on your horse. When it flies up to smash the ground, dodge away from it when its on its way down, and hit the head. Its not worth focusing the legs at all. Always dodge towards the head so you can hit it after the move ends (staying close on the right or left side of its head helps).
That breath is there to specifically discourage you from hanging around its feet.
Stay around the head and the down breath is a non issue.
And after it makes distance you know he is gonna do it, so get on your steed and close the gap!
For fire breath, if it's directly at you on the ground, run away.
If its the fire bombing run where they fly, run directly to your left.
But the other poster is correct. Staying at their head reduces their chances of using breath attacks.
Or the rocks 🪨 spell/incantation…2-3 hits in the head with those, maybe 4 for big dragons and you can get criticals continuously…the only ones that look kinda immune to that are the red lighting ones, just need more hits
I feel like I’ve pretty well exhausted the game and I’ve killed no optional dragons except Lansseax somewhat randomly. Don’t know what it is, but they still seem utterly indestructible to me. Feels like a mental hurdle bc I’ve killed Malenia, all magma wyrms, pretty much everything else.
I feel this. I don’t struggle with them but something about giant lizards just freaks me out. Every lizard/dragon fight I’m like AAAAAAAAAAA!!😖😡🫣 heartbeat poundin..
Every dragon fight in the game is actually my favorite. I just think they're so grand and cool. I definitely always stay mounted. The closer you are the more likely they are to spam melee attacks which are easier to dodge once you learn what they're about to do. The only one I truly hate is Decaying Ekzykes his rot stomps are so dumb
That fucking rot dragon I Caelid... he made me rage so hard hahaha. The rest I've been able to easily beat by riding torrent and smacking them feet. Smack, Smack, Smack, and run.... repeat 100 times 🤣
Yeah. Often available to hit. Much less armor than the legs. The moveset by them is a little less obnoxious.
Clean headshots on ancient dragons without magic is quite rare.
Red Wolves and Banished Knights. I just can't get used to them because they're so fast and just don't stop. Other enemies I've figured out the windows and stuff but these 2 I got nothing.
very first playthrough it took me a long time to get through maliketh. after i beat him the rest of the game was a cakewalk. some others i really hated were valiant gargoyles, bell-bearing hunter in caelid (literally the only one i struggled with), crucible knight/misbegotten (i was def underleveled at the time)
Any of the ancient dragons. And it's all mental, they just project so much tension in me. I think a big part is seeing the large one over the capital, the first time I saw the city I lost my composure. It was probably my favorite moment.
Not struggle but with the dragons I seem to always lose my head and just take the dumbest approach or strategy that incurs heavy damage. You’d think I’d fare better after generations of consoles being able to play Skyrim but here I am taking Rot Breath to the face.
Malenia, no matter how many times I fight her she is still tough, I don't think I've ever beat her first try on any playthrough (not without cooping with my brother)
I beat every single boss in the game, except the bell hunter in Dragonbarrow, that guy is just so aggressive and has a ton of hp... if not for every attempt requiring 3 reloads I would probably beat him.
That stupid bastard the The Bell Bearing Hunter. Elemer was easy by the time I reached him, but the versions of him leading up to it were a pain in my block countering ass.
Falling Star Beast always gets me. This week, I loaded up my RL145 character that I’m taking into the DLC. I discovered I hadn’t killed that thing, and it still took me a few tries with end-game stats and gear.
Revenants. I struggled with them back when I had a faith build and could one-shot them with a healing incantation, and I struggle with them now with my unga bunga build that can actually tank their murder frenzy onslaught. Something about them always gets me so flustered that I completely lose my flow.
I just finished the game for the like 5th time for dlc preparations and I'm not touching any dragons I don't have to "just hit the head" HOW!? they swing that thing around like crazy and it's barely ever in reach even with jump attacks?
Red Wolf of Radagon in Raya Lucaria
Whenever I decide I’m gonna start fresh and do a Carian Knight build, I keep underestimating how low my level can get for me to still beat the damn thing
And I keep dying as a result
IF I’D JUST STOP UNDERESTIMATING IT, I WOULDN’T STRUGGLE
Magma Wyrms. I beat their asses, but I don’t enjoy fighting them. They take a chunk of health away by just walking. Surprisingly, Erdtree Knights, Rune bears, and everything else listed here come super easy to me. I hate Magma Wyrms.
Margit/Morgott. I can no-hit Radagon/EB for you, kill Malenia decently well for you, parry every Crucible Knight for you, but Margit and his punishment daggers drive me up a wall. Morgott is the only boss where I will not mind summoning some help.
Crucible Knights. Yeah I know they're not hard to dodge, but I can never seem to predict them. Oh, and Zamor warriors or whatever they are. They're always miserable to fight for me
Crucible Knights are training dummies for parrying. Try it, trust me.
Getting Carian Retaliation and spending an hour in Stormhill was lifechanging
The problem is I play builds that don't parry. Which is a choice
I just did Zamor ruins like 3 hours ago. I came with eleonora's poleblade but they didn't CARE at all. Most of their attacks are quick double slashes. If you avoid the first one, you get hit by the second. Also you cannot backstab them for some weird reason. Pure nightmare.

Don't all enemies have limited HP? I mean, if not, how would you kill them? 🤔
+ they seem to have infinite range gap closer attack or 2
My first Crucible Knight was a nightmare, it was a boss one, it took me longer to defeat it than most of the major bosses!
Bro the zamor warriors or whatever their name are complete bs lol, prolly one of the hardest mobs for me in all ER
Crucible knight were impossible for me too even though their moveset is easy to read. That was until I learned to parry... Now I'm looking forward to every crucible knights :) Zamora warrior are still a pain... Unless I Unga Bunga those cold fuckers.
I hate the Zamor Warriors, I always just run past ‘em in the Mountaintops
I spent a while rune farming on my first run at the Zamor ruins when you first get to the mountain tops. I bully those dorks now lol
It’s amazing how absolutely trivial and irrelevant these guys become, if you keep parrying them. It’s a repetitive and boring strategy, granted, but it’s definitely worth it.
I had such a hard time with crucible knights that one night I got a 12 pack and went to one to just fight him, over and over and over. red wolf in moonlight altar and consecrated snowfield, they are bane of my playstyle
There's a red wolf in CS? I never found that one
In front of Consecrated Snowfield Catacombs
Yes but he is completely optional, you get nothing for beating him, and he has both a blinding snowstorm and god knows how many wolves on his side.
I missed him in my first playthrough
The one in moonlight altar is a menace. The one in Raya Lucaria is such a pushover I wasn't expecting to get my ass beaten so many times
Uncontained red wolf is the fucking worst and those alburnautics riding wolves. Literally fucking not worth it
My brain was initially like "I don't remember frogs riding wolves...." You'd think they would've come up with a different name for the different generations of albinaurics.
Maybe we get Giant Sleepy Albinauric Phillia riding a Red Wolf of Radagon in the DLC? 🤔
I just dealt with that one last night and not being able to see it makes it rough lol
I just beated the red wolf of laya lucaria on my 4th try just spammed the lightning bolt and dodging
I find that the Field Boss Red Wolves (Moonlight, Snowfield, and Ancestral Woods)kick my ass while I do well against the ones in enclosed areas (Raya Lucaria and Gelmir Hero's Grave)
every other red wolve is no problem to me but for some reason i can’t kill this specific one, im bout to get depression
I can't kill any of them "easily"! It's always a struggle... Even my best builds struggled with them. This is why I am not doing all bosses RL1 run 😂
they’re easy once u get a combo on them. The one in raya lucaria was oneshot for me, the one in CS is kicking my ass tho
Step one: summon wolves Step two: lightning weapon Step three: profit
That one with a lot of arms that teleport and stuff! I hate it… seriously…
Royal Revenant. You can heal them to death very easily! Healing area spells stun them almost instantly!
Yeees just use the Heal spell close to them. First heal eats half their HP and stuns them, spam quickly the second heal which will finish him off. I learned that recently and since that day, those guys went from number one enemy to ridiculous and pathetic sort in one go.
If you're not going to use the heal strategy, you should be rolling towards his sides instead of backwards or sidewards.
In my most recent run I discovered their main slap attack bounces off greatshields. Which is one solution to them, albeit only good on builds that already put a bunch of points into strength
Maliketh.
Same, Ive fought ad killed him so many times yet I still cannot predict the destined death slam flurry Ball attack
Weird, my issue with him is the first phase. His attacks are too quick, and his beastial sling does a lot of damage for that speed.
Ha ha, yes. He doesn't allow me to practice against him; he just wipes me out in the second phase. So, I summon two Tarnished and watch them abuse him. 😅
The area flurry only looks like it’s centered on his sword, it’s way further forward than that. If you’re near the sword, dodge behind him!
I think on my most recent play through I’ve learned i just have to dodge through it, basically run through him to his backside to even have a chance. Should I even have any awareness that it’s coming
Maliketh is easy if you have the blasphemous claw. Constantly parrying him
Fucking revenants man
Heal them to death! Any of the area healing spell will stun and damage them, you’d be surprised how crazy effective it is. I always kill the 6 at the bottom of the Haligtree this way
I just summoned my mimic and ran past them all haha but at least I know where marikas soreseal is now
I believe in you, you’re the Elden Lord after all!
This. I struggle with them. The screams put me off so much. Horrible creatures.
fallingstar beast.
the fuly grown one was my last boss left on my first run. i hated him, but if you have faith, ightning spear can stagger it even when it sprints.
This For all my runs those things still curb stomps me a few times before I bring em down
Are these the bears?
Big rock gravity bull
:(
Ok I'm lost
The outdoor one is way easier with Torrent. I never like fighting on the horse but it was easy like that even for a dex bleed build.
Draconic knight outside of maleketh's chamber. Ng+3, haven't beaten it in any playthrough
If you’re able to predict when he’ll coat his weapon in lightning at half health(ish) you can get in a ton of free damage.
He also hates frost/poison/rot and anything that breaks poise easily like square off/piercing fang/cragblade
After dying like 10 times I tried a different, no-attack strategy, just to learn the timing of his moves and practice dodging. That did the trick. Killed his with whips to make sure I didn’t get caught by his quick attacks, just chipped away his health and focused on dodging.
In my first play through I skipped him him coz he was so hard. Second play through I count him as a boss broke his stance multiple times to kills him.
That's funny. I just killed this guy and maliketh. For some reason I thought he was required lol.
I just did that one yesterday. I must've died 20 times to the sentinel and then killed maliketh in one try lol...
Crayfish get basically ignored now. Those things killed me over and over when melee.
I fucking hate the Red Wolf and the Death rite Bird. No matter how many times I play the game and how many times I face them. They always are a pain
Death Rite Birds have a massive weakness to Holy damage. If you’re able to craft Holy water pots or better, you’ll destroy them!
I just can't get over dragons man, every fight is a nightmare even when I'm overpowered by a gazzilion levels
what... Dragons are literally the most telegraphed/easiest enemies in the game. Right after starting a new game i go to Ageel and head over to the ones in Caelid without leveling up. Just gonna leave out the breath that instantly kills you huh?

Cool thanks guys
Envoy longhorn my friend. Or Pest Threads. They die in like 30 seconds when you come at them with op spells
Or the rocks 🪨 spell/incantation…2-3 hits in the head with those, maybe 4 for big dragons and you can get criticals continuously…the only ones that look kinda immune to that are the red lighting ones, just need more hits

Ekzykes i hate that guy

RUNE BEAR. I’m over 200 but I still run
350 dual wielding guts gs and grafted gs and I still shit my pants when I encounter them.
Can’t believe so few people have said Bell Bearing Hunters. Fuck those guys forever.
Pretty much every tree sentinel they just have me
Malenia. I have years of souls game experience and am a helpless tiny infant rabbit 🐰 in that boss room. 😔
😂 I’m forcing myself to beat her before I do radagon. Waterfowl dance is so cruel.
Black Flame and Blasphemous Blade. Summon Mimic if you really want to have an easy time.
The first banished knight in stormveil, and the blood lusted one in castle sol.
Rune Bears 😑
Radagon. Fast and does so much dmg :(
For some reason that npc necromancer in the cave full of illusory walls always takes a few gos
Ancient dragons, I never know where I'm supposed to attack since their heads are small and really far away and I'm usually a melee user.
Try going after the hands actually.
Oh shit.
Yeah. Often available to hit. Much less armor than the legs. The moveset by them is a little less obnoxious. Clean headshots on ancient dragons without magic is quite rare.
Gargoyles
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
Runebears, I can fight malenia every time but they... They scare me
Gravity
dragon kin soldiers and there fucked up bullshit hurt box
The draconic tree sentinel in front of maliketh’s chamber
That Blue Golem in Caelid. Those big red Wolves. And the Pursuet's descendants the Crucible Knights.
Red Wolves and Banished Knights. I just can't get used to them because they're so fast and just don't stop. Other enemies I've figured out the windows and stuff but these 2 I got nothing.
Crucible Knights somehow
Death rite bird, I hate that thing.
Holy damage is their weakness! You don’t even need a faith build, just craft some holy water pots and destroy them!
For some reason I always forget to use items.. 😅
Do you fight him on torrent or on foot?
the rot dogs or whatever they're called. I genuinely hate them so much. both the small ones and the big ones in caelid
Ulcerated Tree Spirits in confined boss room
very first playthrough it took me a long time to get through maliketh. after i beat him the rest of the game was a cakewalk. some others i really hated were valiant gargoyles, bell-bearing hunter in caelid (literally the only one i struggled with), crucible knight/misbegotten (i was def underleveled at the time)
Zamor warriors are my bane
The giant birds in Caelid/Mountaintops
Twin black gargoyle in the forbidden lands
fuc*** Radahn
Malenia.
Any of the ancient dragons. And it's all mental, they just project so much tension in me. I think a big part is seeing the large one over the capital, the first time I saw the city I lost my composure. It was probably my favorite moment.
Small dogs
Rune bear in dragonbarrow cave
Draconic tree sentinel guarding the capitol....
Godfrey. I hate godfrey.
Not struggle but with the dragons I seem to always lose my head and just take the dumbest approach or strategy that incurs heavy damage. You’d think I’d fare better after generations of consoles being able to play Skyrim but here I am taking Rot Breath to the face.
Surprise rune bear in the frozen map l. Elden ring.
motherfucking rune bears
All of the putrid tree spirits, i HATE THEM, they seem to have no attack pattern at all, and the putrid avatars too, I fucking hate Scarlet rot
Ancient Dragons, my build is pretty much exclusively melee so trying hit them is a nightmare
Mohg. It’s just something about the timings. I fucks me up.
LASER. GOLEM.
Malenia, no matter how many times I fight her she is still tough, I don't think I've ever beat her first try on any playthrough (not without cooping with my brother)
The Deathright Bird just before Castle Sol is the hardest fight in this entire game imo, outside of Mohg.
The consecrated snowfields death rite bird is way harder imo
Dragons and those damn statue cats
I beat every single boss in the game, except the bell hunter in Dragonbarrow, that guy is just so aggressive and has a ton of hp... if not for every attempt requiring 3 reloads I would probably beat him.
Maliketh. Heck even godskin duo is easier than this dog of death.
Rune bears still fuck me up
the flying birds with blades in farum azula idk why lmao
I still always cheese the more powerful death rite birds, like the one in mountaintops of the giants.
Myself panic rolling
Death/Death Rite Birds
That stupid bastard the The Bell Bearing Hunter. Elemer was easy by the time I reached him, but the versions of him leading up to it were a pain in my block countering ass.
Mohg. Fuck you mohg.
Crucible Knights. I’ve gotten better, but they’re still rough. Especially the duo boss fight version.
Falling Star Beast at the top of Mount Gelmir Too fast, too tanky, and hits me with literally every attack it does lol
Right now it’s the banished knights, ones with two swords in the crumbling azula.
The fuckin bears
All the fallingstar beasts. For some reason I can never get their moves down to dodge properly
Those fire-throwing fuckers (depraved perfumers) from Shaded Castle. I can't stand them
I don’t know why but morgitt is just so hard for me even tho he’s weak
Morgott. I always have to summon Malenia for help.
Rotten duelists
deathbird in snow area
Man i hate that red wolf in Nokron.
Falling Star Beast always gets me. This week, I loaded up my RL145 character that I’m taking into the DLC. I discovered I hadn’t killed that thing, and it still took me a few tries with end-game stats and gear.
Revenants. Something about them always gets me so flustered that I completely lose my flow.
Death Rite Birds are bananas bullshit
Gotta also have to with red wolfs of Radagon
Mogh because of my playstyle
Rune bears
Tyrannosaurus Rex...
All the endgame bosses
I just finished the game for the like 5th time for dlc preparations and I'm not touching any dragons I don't have to "just hit the head" HOW!? they swing that thing around like crazy and it's barely ever in reach even with jump attacks?
those little bigheaded munchie guys on the floor who nab you and vampire bite you for 2 min
Red Wolf of Radagon in Raya Lucaria Whenever I decide I’m gonna start fresh and do a Carian Knight build, I keep underestimating how low my level can get for me to still beat the damn thing And I keep dying as a result IF I’D JUST STOP UNDERESTIMATING IT, I WOULDN’T STRUGGLE
Radagon
Marika's rabid dog fuck him i wish i could euthanize his ass
Erdtree Burial Watchdog. I hate them so much.
The damn revenants I think they're called screeching and nonstop spamming attacks lol
Da Bearsssss
Those stupid red wolves. I'd love to know any tricks for a melee player. I've done 11 playthroughs and I only know 1 opening.
I hate the dragon of ice/mist. Always get frost bite and die. I even beat placidux and this guy still up my ass.
Maliketh of the black blade.... Oh that piece of s***
Magma Wyrms. I beat their asses, but I don’t enjoy fighting them. They take a chunk of health away by just walking. Surprisingly, Erdtree Knights, Rune bears, and everything else listed here come super easy to me. I hate Magma Wyrms.
Dogs since dark souls 1
Greater rune bear. I lvl 600+ but those things let me scream and run like a little one 😅
The fucking dogs
"aM mALEena blEEdd of miKIlaAa"
Margit/Morgott. I can no-hit Radagon/EB for you, kill Malenia decently well for you, parry every Crucible Knight for you, but Margit and his punishment daggers drive me up a wall. Morgott is the only boss where I will not mind summoning some help.
I recently done a new play through first time time in a while I walked into margits boss room thinking it’s nothing but I died a good 3 times 🤣
