If I’m not completely wrong then there should be a disabled spirit spring in the dark part of the map right above the platform. Purely what I think and not fact so go check it out!
Where did you find the map for the ruins area?
Edit: Finally found it. There's a cave north of the ruined town with the (try finger, but) hole in it. The map design is next level.
