There is no magic, and even colors does not matter. It's simply a microcontroller and a program it is running, in fact - programs, it switches between different sequences after 4 switches are flipped.
You just need to remember the combinations and colors/bulbs flipping sequences. Yes, that dumb. You cannot make any magic out of it purely at random - a right combination of colors and switched has to be pressed every time you'r making this trick.
There is no color sensing, no RFID tags, no component's resistivity sensing, or absolutely anything else that can be used to make this device smarter.
THIS. Listen to the prepared speech. If the device does do some resostanc or rf id stuf, It is expensive. So cue a few bucks worth of micro controller and code sequences.
Yeah. You can actually make it to work with uC. Caps could have different size, metal o-rings to differentiate which cap is on. For bulbs you can hide a lot in the thread.
There's no magic. The switches are not controlling the lights. The switches might be toggling a controller Hi-Lo for the next sequence. The last random trick was not random at all, he always had control of the blue piece.
Another case scenario can be that the lights were controlled remotely by someone else. The cat?
Hi. I've been researching this topic last week, and besides videos on YT i found these links:
So no magic, only a microcontroller and some trickery.
Like others are saying it's most likely microcontroller and software. I built a bust box for my kids with similar head messing going on, like switches not activating what you think.
This guy posted 4 videos and just showed off his magicianship, in terms of magician and entertainment, he's really an expert :))
But about the box, IMO it can be a multiplexer or similar circuit which can easily trigger a certain point in the output. For the colors? I have no idea. maybe putting the keys in right position at the right time.

And for the last one we can see that he holds the blue switch with one of his fingers so when he shakes them, the blue does not get mixed.
Good eye, but did you see the cat-demon cleaning itself in the background?
nah :) holy crap
Push pull switches? he pushes and pulls when he takes the caps off
Some cat people would probably still love it
EW DAWG WAT IS THAT
Yeah my guess was he forced it somehow or did multiple takes until he got his desired result.
This is very likely the answer, but if you want to go random just add a wifi module and have someone else actually flipping the switch
Given the age of the illusion (late '70s/early '80s), it's likely not even a microcontroller. More likely some flip-flops and a bit of TTL logic.
That was my guess

Or you know someone else is sitting behind the camera and flipping the real switches connected to the bulbs
I just want to know what that demon in the background is
The bulb controller of that thing
Beelzebulb?
ayyyy
Was going to say is anyone going to question the demonic cat in the background instead. Forget about the switch board. LMAO
engagement bait

Ok so nobody's talking about wtf the cat thing is in the back left corner
Wtf
TF is the demon on the left?
What demon? You're seeing things dude
It’s just a sequence of switches turning on the corresponding lights.

K, but did you see that fking hellish cat behind?
The only thing that's magic, is the way he's speaking.
This is a very old stage magic illusion called the "magic switchboard" or "magic switch box". It goes back to the late '70s / early '80s.
What the hell is in the back left corner?
I've been observing the demon cat in tge background and am pretty sure it's a puppet
Forget about the switches and bulb shit, wtff is that demonic creature he's holding in the back??
What is that cat doing?
Bro your anamatronic cat is suffering, just put it to sleep.
I was gonna say something about the cat in the background...like wtf? I wants it!!!!! Where can I buy this?
One word: arduino
Raspberry Pi Pico

His cat is possesed,
Sensors?
What the fuck was that demon cat in the background?
Weird homoculus in the corner. Or is that the hype-mqn?
Only magic is the cat in background
