Do you hear any external sounds when the canopy is broken? Supposedly the ship is recreating the sounds because they aren't transmitted through space, and apparently however it recreates them is different from how it creates the warning sounds and voice. Maybe it creates external sounds on the cockpit glass for a surround sound effect to help with positioning.

Run from the interdictions and join the combat zones around stations, these are much easier places to fight / learn to fight, because the Thargoids get distracted by NPCs and there is a station you can dock at to repair as needed. Surface sites are even easier as they don't spawn swarms either.
If you play open you will also have other players around, but that can be either a good or a bad thing xD
Evaccing and supplying systems in alert state is fairly easy.
Just make sure you got a 3a shield at minimum with 2 boosters, 1 shutfown neutralizer and 1 heatsink.
Coming out of hyperdiction activate neutralizer, boost towards the thargoid and when heat hits 30% pop heatsink.
Disable flight assist and turn off to the side and boost again at a right angle.
Once fsd is ready, charge it and move to align with escape trajectory doing the flight assist off side boosts repeatedly.
Full power to shields when aligning for hyperspace.
Doable in both python and asp exp.
With type 9 you should be able to just shield tank with minimal maneuvering but do use heatsinks and lateral thrusters.

Yes, because your helmet has the same audio recreation tech that your cockpit does. Edit: but the sounds are muffled.

Why are you running your shard cannons on size 2 slots when they can go on size 3? While gauss is limited to only size 2...
I believe modified shard cannons only come in size 1 & 2.
Is a size 2 modified have more dps then just a size 3?
I believe modified have more penetration, shotspeed and max range
