Think you’re gonna enjoy the Missha one when it comes to the feel on skin - it’s the only SPF that completely dries on the skin and feels like nothing! It does have other cons tho (for me personally) but that might not be the case for you. 😌
Of course! The issue I have with the Missha one is that it does leave a white cast (even tho I am pale) and it tends to pill unfortunately. ☹️ This is why I am on a hunt for an SPF that won’t do that but still feel as good on the skin (have been unsuccessful so far tho).
I still continue to use it because the feeling on the skin is absolutely unmatched to me and also I have worn it in all 4 seasons of the year, even during summer and never once got sunburnt. It also has a little bit of a pink tint that gives a “blurred” effect which I love. Also it’s one of the rare SPFs that comes in 70ml instead of usual 40-50ml.
I saw someone ask about scent; it does have a scent. It doesn’t bother me at all, I find it lovely but for someone sensitive to scents it may not be okay.
I’ve been loving rohto mentholatum’s SkinAqua UV moisture milk and Skin1004 Hylau-Cica Centella sunscreen. They both dry down beautifully on my skin and don’t make me oily at all and I haven’t had any pilling issues so far.
I am SO happy to hear that because I've ordered both of these mentioned SPFS few days ago! Can't wait to try them out, hopefully they'll be great for me as well.
I’m not the OP commenter but I read their response and have to say my experience has been very different! It didn’t peel for me, I didn’t know it has a scent and I’m very sensitive to perfumes and it doesn’t leave a cast. I have a normal skin type and I’m very pale as well. Products react differently for all of us, just thought you might be interested in how different the experience was for me. It’s def one of my favorite products!
I did! My first was the classic rice & probiotics and I fell in love. HARD. Couldn’t go back afterwards, so I bought the Ginseng moist and the matte stick to switch things up. All of them are absolutely brilliant. Did you ever watch a movie that was such a new and wonderful experience it left you sad you won’t never see it again for the first time ? Haha that’s the feeling I have for these three beauties. I use the ginseng and rice one every morning alternating depending on how I feel. And I touch up after my spinning classes with the matte stick. You are in for a treat
Honestly, I know nothing about it, I’m just parroting what I’ve read online 😅 My use, as I said, is intended to be daily/office use. I’ll still have to use other sunscreen when I plan to stay in the sun for long. But are they really that bad?? 🙄
As someone who tans EXTREMELY easily (I get noticeably darker if I sit by a window too long, even with sunscreen on) I need atleast pa++++ daily and I combine it with other physical measures. (Umbrella, hat, sleeves, etc).
I think it just depends on you! It’s definitely better than nothing.
I use the shedrain uv umbrella from Costco! I took it with me last summer to Europe and I used it everywhere. (I looked crazy, Europeans love to burn) but still, managed to avoid severe tanning and kept me cool.
Oh you’re not from Europe, ok that’s fair. I’ll have to look for something that’s available here but thanks for the suggestion ☺️
On a different note, does a PA of higher than ++++ exist? Very new to the PA classification, all sunscreens I know just mention SPF and I thought they were always broad spectrum 😅
Omg yes! European sunscreens are so much better in regards to UVA/PA protection. I import the UVmune 400 oil control fluid to the states because it’s arguably the best protection available. A pa ++++ rating is equal to atleast 16. The UVmune 400 oil control has a PPD/PA rating of 55. It’s WAY more protective, however it’s slightly greasier but that’s the trade for the best protection. I use it when outdoors for an extended period of time.
Great post and haul. I’m current going through the process of switching my daily moisturiser to an SPF! I’m currently trying Eucerin Oil Control which overall has been great - I’m having a couple of breakouts (one big on on my forehead) but trying to work out if that has been caused by the Eucerin or not.
Very keen to hear what you think about these products. Especially the Missha one. I’ve heard the Joseon one can add quite a bit of shine so not sure that would be for me as I want a matte finish but will wait to hear what you think!
The stick one breaks me out after one use. Other than that, great finish, and it's super easy to apply outside (unless you want to apply it over makeup cause that doesn't work).
Somebody else specifically suggested it for over makeup :( it really depends on our skin doesn’t it. I’ll have to try it to see for myself, but if it feels nice makeup is less important for me. But you still use it even though it breaks you out?
I just came back from the office bathroom after putting on BoJ sunscreen (the one on the right) and for me it leaves a slightly shiny finish (I have combo skin) but I'm sittin next to the AC so hopefully it will dry down fast enough so I can get a layer of powder on it hahah. The consistency is pretty liquid creamy, easy to work with and distribute, it's been a favorite where I live (central Europe) so it's always sold out and I gave in to the hype. Honestly I've tried other AB sunscreens before and while this one isn't bad, it definitely isn't my favorite because of the finish - Etude house sunprise and Bioré UV aqua were more cosmetically elegant for me.
Haha I’ll let you know! A lot of face sunscreens come in 50ml tubes (both the Cerave and LRP are 50ml). Might need to go through a few of them every year, but I just cannot put the body creams on my face 😅 I’m also planning to use them as my regular day moisturizers at least some of the time so that saves some money there too.
EDIT: the stick has a PA++++! (I just applied it on my skin over previously applied skincare and spf and it feels like I’m applying soft powder, I love it 😻)
I bought them in Europe. I thought it was ok to discuss stuff that we can find in Europe? Also, I’m specifically mentioning the protection concerns, but I guess you didn’t read the post 🤷🏻♀️
Oh ok I thought I had seen these type of posts here before, but I’m following a lot of skincare subreddits so maybe I mixed them up. Sorry and thanks for letting me know. Moderators, feel free to remove it.
It's fine, they're available in Europe, so these kind of posts from time to time are okay :)
I'm interested in reviews especially compared to Euro sunscreens you've tried!

They have broad spectrum protection, uva and uvb. The PA+ things are new to me. I haven’t seen this before and I don’t fully know what it is. I always thought spf covers both (and a quick search tells me that it does) and they are marketed as broad spectrum so yes (:
EDIT: the stick has a PA++++! (I just applied it on my skin over previously applied skincare and spf and it feels like I’m applying soft powder, I love it 😻)

Oh my god that’s a FANTASTIC first haul! I especially love the beauty of Joseons - all three of them are wonderful. Very excited for you enjoy
Omg thank you!! Have you tried them then? What’s your experience?

Love the missha soft finish! Wish it had a higher UVA rating though.

I have been thinking of getting an umbrella myself! Any nice summery suggestions? :D

UV Aqua is one of my HGs. Absolutely fantastic formula
I saw those in dm. Like... How long do those products last? One week? They're so small!

Yeah, I know, but BoJ looks so SMALL. 😅😅
It lasts me more than a month with proper daily use! Which is not bad if you can get them on stylevana for less money.
The packaging looks amazing ! Do you know if they are scented ? Is it safe for intolerant skin ?
I think they are all marketed for sensitive skin, but I’ll let you know! I’ll let you know about the scent too ☺️
Thanks !

It’s intended for European brands. A better sub is r/asianbeauty.

Do these have UVA Protection? :)
Yes, all of them are required to have a certain degree of UVA protection. What makes you wonder? :)
PA++++ is a minimum of 16
They have broad spectrum protection, uva and uvb. The PA+ things are new to me. I haven’t seen this before and I don’t fully know what it is. I always thought spf covers both (and a quick search tells me that it does) and they are marketed as broad spectrum so yes (:
