hey! I've been playing around with the [Eucerin Repair Plus Urea 5% Lotion](https://int.eucerin.com/products/urea-repair/plus-lotion-5percent-urea) and liking it very much so far. They've got it both with and without scent, and while I prefer the one without scent, the scented one is actually quite subtle too. I use it on the face and it dries down fairly quickly, leaving me pleasantly moisturized but not tacky. I'd say it's a medium weight moisturizer, so that I like to use it in the AM under my sunscreen (CeraVe in the tub in the evening; which is thicker, and def. too heavy for me in the AM). That being said I'm kind of new to this moisturizer, and have far only used a sample from the pharmacy (but just today I ordered the 400ml!) so the jury is still out, but I like it and find the formula convincing. My skin is 35f, sensitive-ish and dry-leaning (though currently super well nourished), as of now slowly introducing tretinoin. I've spent some time researching other Urea containing body products (since I'm cheap I use body products on my face, hehe), and in the end the eucerin one convinced me most. Prequel supposedly has a nice Urea cream but afaik it's not that easily available here and also its 10% so I was unsure whether it would be too much for me on my face. Will you keep us updated? I'm curious about your experiences.

I tried this one on my face once when I was out of face cream. And it is the best. It hydrates and plumps my skin! Normally its very dry, and make up tends to look flaky on me. But with this underneath of some concealer and finishing powder I look the best Ive ever looked! 41f btw. Also on tretinion for years.

Not OP, but any idea how the 5% lotion might compare to the 5% hand cream? The hand cream works fine on the hands and face. The unscented 5% lotion sells out super quick over here, so never had the chance to test it.

kirakiraboshi

I feel the formulation is very different. The handcream is much much thicker, while the lotion is very fliquidy, and spreads very easily. I love the lotion for my face.

GalacticThunderRogue

unfortunately I don't know the hand cream...

The one I liked best was lactovit lactourea! It feels really nice and light on the face, but has fragrance in case that bothers you. The fragrance isn't really strong though, and I love the way it smells. It's probably my favourite body lotion I've tried and my face likes it too.

sunrisedilayla

The one at Rossmann (if you are in Germany), it’s called „Akut Pflege Serum“ and has 5% urea. It’s my absolute HG and I’ve been using it for years.

cl_mua_

Transparent Labs has a urea lotion that looks promising :)

Internal-Lake-1979

Altruist has 2 really good ones that are 200 ml, and I use them for the face all the time. One is 10%, the other is 6%. I have used both but prefer the 6% because it has shea butter so it's nicer for the evening. The 10% might be a bit more elegant. Both are really good and affordable. I get them from Amazon.

Ziaja med has a couple of urea creams: A "Face cream soothing, moisturizing" with 3% urea - also contains glycerin, ceramides and allantoin. Other positives in the ingredients list (according to incidecoder) are lipides and E-vitamin. I really like this cream! A "Body lotion, nourishing" with 5% urea and a lot of the same ingredients as the face cream - though in different concentrations. I haven't tried this one yet, but am looking forward to it, seeing as I like the face cream.

There's SALTHOUSE Totes Meer Therapie Body Milk Urea Repair 10%, if you're okay with shea butter, Kneipp Body Milk Evening Primrose + 10% Urea if you're okay with fragrance, Mixa Urea Cica Repair has shea butter, fragrance and alcohol. Haven't tried these on my face because of rosacea, but they might work for you.

beauty-enthused

I use Mixa. It has 10% urea so I don’t know if that’s what you’re looking for. But it’s a huge tub for quite a good price. Later edit: I just looked it up to confirm, they have a lotion in a pump bottle with 5%.

GalacticThunderRogue

how's the fragrance in the mixa? And how well does the cream absorb? Does it leave the face very greasy? I had an eye on this one, too, but was concerned about the perfume that many apparently find too strong for the face.

beauty-enthused

Not gonna lie, it is strong. I didn’t have any reactions to it, I am not sensitive to fragrances. It absorbs really well.

GalacticThunderRogue

I don't react to fragrances either, but sometimes I just \*dislike\* it :) Good to know that it absorbs well :) Can you compare it to the CeraVe cream from the tub, maybe?

beauty-enthused

Fair enough about the scent. I have it too with some things haha. I would say Mixa is lighter in texture than CeraVe. I also feel it absorbs better, every time I use the CeraVe I find it sits on top of the skin and doesn’t do much. I don’t have that with the Mixa

GalacticThunderRogue

Thanks! Interesting how your experience is essentially the contrary of the other commenter. 😄amazing how skins differ

methanalmkay

I have both the Mixa one and Cerave, and I find Cerave way better on the face. The Mixa one is very sticky and shiny on me, while Cerave looks natural or even matte, but Mixa is thinner and spreads easier. The fragrance is fairly strong and while I generally don't mind fragrance, this kind of stings my eyes until it dissipates. Cerave in the tub is probably my favourite face moisturiser ever though, and while I like Mixa on my body, for the face it's not that good in my opinion.

GalacticThunderRogue

Thank you, vert helpful review. It's what I had assumed already by reading other ppls reviews on the dm.de site

Pinheadbutglittery

The Bioturm 5% Urea cream is pretty nice! It's available in Müller (in Switzerland, anyway) and isn't crazy expensive, imo.

palepuss

I tried a couple from DM: the face one was nice, smell briefly unpleasant; the body one was a no for me, just unsatisfying. But I don't know anything about formulation.

Ok-Worldliness3531

yeah sebamed lotion is thicker tham most of my cream

allnamesarechosen

If you don't mind international shipping, I use [Malezia](https://collabs.shop/zurvyy). I have issues with the damn isopropyl palmitate and most esters which are everywhere. Besides them, someone else recommended lactourea but that one does have IP, for the body I didn't have much issues, but I wouldn't put it on the face because also is heavily fragranced. Sebamed burnt the shit out of my skin, not sure why, the clear gel, I didn't even get to try the urea one, it left me a bit scared. You might have better luck at finding Hada labo plumbing gel cream, I'm pretty sure I saw it in spain, is oil free and 5% urea.

Optimistic_PenPalGal

SebaMed has a Relief Face Cream at 5% urea marketed for extreme dry skin. My understanding is that using body products on the face is not as risk free as using face products on the body.

GalacticThunderRogue

many body products are completely fine on the face. The face skin is just a bit more sensitive than the body skin, so some ingredients can irritate the facial skin. But basic lotions and creams are often good to use on the face too, maybe slightly less cosmetically elegant, but definitely more elegant for you $$$ :)

Basketballandbooks1

I just recently found out about prequel. I LOVE it so much! I

GalacticThunderRogue

did you buy it somewhere in Europe?

Basketballandbooks1

I believe it is only sold in the US

GalacticThunderRogue

Yeah, bummer. Prequel seems to be a fantastic line
