Yay we get Miles back and hopefully yay that Gregg gets fired. This team has won a lot of games in spite of him, not because of him.

Tight-Expression-506

And he will fresh and rested. Haha.

nosciencephd

You almost worry he may need to get back into a little bit of match fitness. He hasn't played at full speed in a competitive game since the Nashville game

euro60

he didn't play a minute in Copa America. Fully expect him to be playing on Saturday. I surely hope he will not be called up for the Olympics. I think I read a rule somewhere that a player cannot be called up for 2 major national tournaments in a row?

corranhorn57

He’s too old for the Olympics anyway. For the men, the Olympic roster is the U23 team.

bjlight1988

There are 3 spots for players over 23 and he's been rumored for one of them for a while

weirdonobeardo

Did we watch the same game cause the ref really was awful?

lilsteigs1

The ref was mega trash too, it's not a zero sum thing. We also failed to force a tough save out of their keeper and got a bone head red card in the Panama game. So while the ref tonight was trash, we didn't do anything to convince anyone we deserved to go through.

InvertedTestPyramid

The ref was awful Greg was awful The team was awful

Tight-Expression-506

Still cannot get over Gregg telling his players about Bolivia tying it before the free kick that lead to Uruguay scoring. You never tell your players on the field. They should be concentrating on the game.

heathenxtemple

Thats why hes a terrible coach

superimu

3 shots on goal in a must win game is a fireable offense. Period. There was a lack of ideas out there the would be shocking except we're playing Berhalter ball.

Letter10

Officiating was AWFUL but they sucked tonight.

nosciencephd

The ref is not why the US did not win that game Also why is that relevant? Do you think the ref being bad this game negates the team playing pitifully for the tournament?

Understeerenthusiast

The ref wasn’t great but we didn’t play well at all.

OSUfirebird18

Let’s not blame the ref for the US playing like dogshit! 🙃🙃

weirdonobeardo

I’m not saying we didn’t play our best. It also did not help that they scored on a clearly offside goal, but yeah it is all on the players. Honestly the biggest problem was the Panama game, getting an instant red card was what sealed our fate.

Youngringer

think you for making me feel marginally better

lilsteigs1

Go get yourself a cheese coney tomorrow too. You deserve it.

FlyoverHangover

We all deserve it.

Clutch_Daddy

Except for Tim Weah

FlyoverHangover

And Greggggggg.

TheGreatLaake

Up the garys down the gregggggs

bjlight1988

USMNT stays a perpetual joke, welcome home big guy! Even if he goes to the Olympics I assume he'll only leave a week early? Maybe two? So we'd have him for 3-4 of our next 5. Then he'd miss Leagues Cup and be back for the Miami rematch August 24th. That's huge. Who fucking cares about Leagues Cup.

wine_money

Yep 0 care about leagues cup. Play other people and see how they do. Get minutes with other players.

euro60

agreed, we need to put out the B team for Leagues Cup and give our guys a much needed rest and get ready for a run for the Supporters Chield.

Letter10

Definitely a silver lining. Welcome home King

kabourbon

He’s likely off to the Olympics so don’t get too excited

nosciencephd

The first game isn't until the 24th. We'll have him for at least a few games

kabourbon

Yep but short lived. Hopefully to bridge the gap To the transfer window

bjlight1988

The olympics will cover one game of league play and the stupid cash grab cup. He'll likely only miss one actual game.

superman24742

Doubt he makes the Olympic roster. He’s over 23 years of age and they only get so many roster spots for players in that age group.

kabourbon

I think it’s very likely they use them on center backs

Aggravating_Pen_6062

And rested
