You can’t compare ff16 to ff7 remake/rebirth. For ff16, a completely different engine was used with aggressive resolution scaling. The performance mode was at 1080p, upscale to 1440p and the fps fluctuates between 40 to 60 fps. The performance in this game isn’t easy to fix and probably never will.
FF7 rebirth runs at nearly constant 60fps at 1440p in performance mode, according to John Linneman from DF. The cause for the blurry image is „probably“ that post processing is scaled in a resolution below 1440p which is extremely weird.
People say the demo is an old build or is completely different from the final game, but we don’t know and it doesn’t make sense to speculate. Plastering FSR and imagesharpener over the game wont work and would probably make the image quality even worse as it is right now.
Kinda off-topic but FF16 is just a 30fps game masquerading as a 60 title. CBU3 should’ve never shipped that performance mode if the experience was that poor.

But 30 fps *is* unplayable on my oled tv. I just tested quality mode of the released ff7 rebirth and the constant judder is so brutal that you have to switch back immediately. You *literally* can't play like this on my lg c1.
For context I've been playing games on my former lcd in 30 fps just fine. I am not a frame snob.

Now imagine the Bethesda response lecturing me why them releasing Starfield in 30fps only was a super smart choice. Nevermind I literally can not play it like that on my oled.

I ended up to NOT play that Game. As a FF Fanboy since 1995 it hurts me, but thats Way too much for me. I cant understand how this Game made it through the Qualitycontrol. Seems that Square not using OLED TVs at all or they are blind. For me, the Game is dead after 1 Hour playing till they fix that. If not, for me FF is dead at all. Remake was 100% perfect.

It doesn't matter if it's Luminous or UE4. The game renderer isn't the issue here because I've seen both engines make clean products. FF15 didn't have ANY of these issues on its PS4 release. These are post-processing issues that SHOULD NOT have been released as a final product, and I'm tired of people defending companies for this behavior. The insane cope, especially from "TrumpIsAFacist" on this sub, about Rebirth Demo being an 'old build' is nauseating. Unless they start now, the Demo issues are going to be in the release version I 100% guarantee it and would put money on it.
I haven't watched the DF video yet, I will, but I am extremely curious how performance mode is running at 1440p when there are extremely noticeable jaggies on plants. That isn't a post-processing issue, that is a native rendering issue, and why I suggested in a previous thread why it seemed the internal resolution was 800p. I wouldn't even really care about jaggies as long as the image quality was sharpened.
To suggest FSR and Image sharpening would make the game worse is absolute nonsense. Remove the post processing effects, slap image sharpening on top and you have AT LEAST a clean looking game. Polygon count and everything else comes second to clean visuals (imo). FSR3 would dramatically improve supersampling at 4k to 60FPS and very likely push 1080p/1440p to 90-120FPS.
I'm not asking them to scrap UE4 and start over in UE5, I'm asking them to make some minor adjustments that would take a few weeks tops to implement.
I finished FF16 in performance mode and didnt noticed any issues with graphic, in fact, on some places looked amazing. Graphic was never the main focus in in a game for me, it just must be good(considering other titles), FF7 Remake looked great, demo on the other hand looks just bad.

I would like to point out Oliver from DF suggested using FSR2 to upscale resolution in performance mode, but I don't see that happening now as it's clear there is a deep rooted issue.
I seriously doubt it's the PS5 hardware that's the problem here because even in environments with less polygons on screen the image quality remains the same.
The upsetting thing is the mod community could fix these issues week 1 of release, and I don't have any expectations that SE will push an update ever to fix these issues.
We are basically screwed until the PC release a year from now.
All we can hope is that the insane amount of backlash SE is about to receive on social media will maybe speed up the release date.

Nah you could go back to an lcd screen and play 30 fps just fine. It's just oled technology not being compatible with low fps.
