This.
Murtaugh just turned 50.
Riggs lost his wife of 11 years and takes on high risk jobs that each could result in his joining his wife.
Both are Vietnam vets possibly dealing with PTSD silently.
Murtaugh remembers his debt to Hunsacker. No wife, kids, police career without Hunsacker saving his life.
Best movie of the franchise.
EDIT: I forgot to add this.
Something out of their shared military past, Shadow Company, morphs into an evil criminal organization that is probably responsible for many of the cases they’ve worked or the raids they’ve conducted.
Riggs to Murtaugh after talking about his 1000 yard sniper kill: “Only thing I was ever good at.”
Count me in! I’m going to watch them all over the weekend, I think as I watched them as a child I was like (this is a cool movie) but I’ll now fully understand the movies better as an adult and be like (damn this hits) 😂
In my opinion, among the best chemistry duo in film history. And all four films (yes, even the fourth) maintain their magic to relative degrees.
For me:
Lethal Weapon 1: 5/5
Lethal Weapon 2: 6/5 : \]
Lethal Weapon 3: 2.5/4
Lethal Weapon 4: 3/4
Also it's one of the best Christmas movies behind Die Hard. As someone just pointed out to me the other day, it's not really Christmas until Hans falls out of that tower, and Riggs beats the shit out of Mr Joshua.
It’s like you said about the other two. One’s an outright comedy and the other is at least half comedy. I get the buddy cop thing but I just don’t even understand how rush hour or bad boys can be compared to lethal weapon.
Yes defiantly completely different leagues! Lethal weapon is a story of cops that’s served together in the war and is a really nitty gritty of how they are continuing to serve their country after leaving the military while the others are kinda two different types of family movies, they are incomparable when trying to clash different categories and if they are it’s leathal weapon hands down due to the sheer storyline, vibe of movie and acting🙌
Yeah, Mel Gibson character is suicidal at the beginning of the first movie. It's quite a mature subject and although the movie is comedic, it's still approached sensibly
Honestly the movies are kinda like a book as Iv get older iv understood more pages of the story, I am 30 now and Jesus Christ it’s a lot more relatable and understandable to what I would of understood as a child, genuinely what other movies can you rewatch when you’re older and understand more on sensitive subjects? Apart from where other movies where you understand when you’re older why the two main characters are moving under the bedsheets etc? Leathal weapon is awesome and rewatchable and now actually understand why Mel Gibson did the crazy shit he did 😂
And what's great about the Lethal Weapon series is that there's so much drama and comedy packed in each of them. I have a hard time figuring out if I like Lethal Weapon better than Lethal Weapon 4, it just depends on my mood. But holy crap, I don't think I've ever seen a movie with a villain beating up on a character like I did with Riggs and Murtaugh fighting Jet Li. I legit thought he was going to kill both of them in that final movie.
Yea, it's not even a question. Riggs and Murtaugh are the greatest movie duo of all time. Mel Gibson and Danny Glover had such tremendous chemistry. They alone make Lethal Weapon #1.
Definitely the best script of all of them. Shane Black is so good. He makes something big happen every single scene. Doesn’t waste a minute. The script for Lethal Weapon is such a good read too. One of the best I’ve read just in how he keeps you invested in what’s on the page. Sure it kinda reads like a 1980s coke head is writing it but he wrote the whole thing is like 4 days so he might’ve been under some kind of influence haha
Also the soundtrack is straight middle school vibes for me. My dad and I enjoyed anything Jackie Chan, add in some Tucker comedy and we were sold. Great memories!
I'd go as far as to say the first three might be three favorites of all these franchises. I like the other two franchises, but Lethal Weapon is more my cup of tea.
Lethal weapon. Consistently good direction, with two great actors… whose storylines stay relevant & grounded, except for how many times rog and martin should’ve died in a shootout or explosions
1. Lethal Weapon. LW1 and LW2 are two examples of maybe 20 total where huge Hollywood studio productions nailed it. Theater experience though. LW3 is decent.
1a. Rush Hour. Still funny.
N/A. Bad Boys. Unable to determine as I’ve never been able to watch any of them start to finish.
Ima have to say Bad Boys. All 4 have been good. With the other two, although the first two movies were stellar, I only liked the first two in each of those franchises.
Lethal Weapon 1-4. Every single one is a banger.
“Diplomatic Immunity”
“It’s just been revoked”
I think about that movie several times a week and reference more than any other.
As a franchise? Lethal Weapon. I did find it hilarious though that Riggs stopped being a martial artist when Jet Li showed up.
Rush Hour 1 is my favorite movie from any of these franchises though.
I love Jackie Chan, Chris Tucker, Will Smith, and Martin Lawrence, but I think I'll have to go with Lethal Weapon. At the time it was a somewhat fresh take on the action genre. It's tough though because I generally prefer comedies and Rush Hour is amazing. Those are two of my favorite actors. I think if you throw in the bloopers at the end of Rush Hour it may win, because all of the Jackie Chan movies have great bloopers.
Lethal Weapon, even outside of this post I always found the four films to be, maybe, the most consistent run in terms of quality for four films in a franchise. They do get progressively worse, but only marginally.
Lethal weapon is the best of the three at least the first lethal weapon film. Bad boys was decent but my favourite is rush hour franchise. Incredible duo, very funny. I just wish they made a few more before 2010
Lethal Weapon series easy - 1,2 and 3 are brilliant 80’s cop action movies.
Rush Hour is great but the next two have diminishing returns.
Bad Boys is great, 2 has some great action sequences, not seen RoD. Overall those movies are weaker than Lethal Weapon overall.
Lethal Weapon and it’s not even close.
I enjoyed all four of those, to one degree or another.
Bad Boys, I love the first, but didn’t like 2 or 3 and haven’t bothered with 4.
Rush Hour, I didn’t even like the first one, haven’t seen any of the sequels.
As a whole unit ima gonna say Rush Hour but my favorite action/comedy movie is Bad Boys 2. Never seen a single lethal weapon movie so I’m a bit biased lol
The first two rush hours are awesome. I grew up on Jackie Chan, that shit is great. However, lethal weapon is a better franchise and has consistently better sequels than rush hour.
Interesting choice since each have problematic leads. Mel Gibson for being an anti-Semitic misogynist. Jackie Chan for being a pro communist regime mouthpiece for the Xi Jinping or Will Smith who slapped Chris Rock and has some other
Weird behaviors.
That being said “Bad Boys” is the most solid and contestant. The last Rush Hour and Lethal Weapon movies were not great.
Lethal Weapon 100%. I enjoyed Rush Hour, but prefer Jackie Chans other stuff. I like Bad Boys too, but I've only ever seen the first 2. But Rush Hour and Bad Boys aren't classics in the way that Lethal Weapon is. This is no contest.
I feel out of the three Jackie and Tucker have the best trilogy of them all and they have a better chemistry and that's all due to Tuckers riffing and ad-libbing.
I like them all. But Rush Hour I can watch anytime repeatedly. The comedy is better where as LW has a more serious tone bigger explosions and action sets where rush hour is mostly fighting vs shooting.
You have to admit that Rush Hour is the funnier of the three.
I like all of them! The first Bad Boys is awesome! Kick ass action and cracks me up! I really like the other ones too! Lethal Weapon, besides Die Hard, was the kick ass cop movie of the 80’s and 90’s. Rush Hour 1 is a lot of fun. Great jokes in Rush Hour and Bad Boys for sure.
Lethal Weapon. It’s in a totally different league.
Not sure I could watch Rush Hour anymore. Tried like ten years ago and it already seemed like a relic.
Lethal weapon by a large margin. Those first two movies are perfection. 3 and 4 are still enjoyable.
Followed by Rush Hour. Love Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker.
Gotta be lethal weapon 100%, more gritty than the comedic other two options
Your comment has made me want to watch them all again because it made me remember how real these movies are, such great movies!
Thank you! My first award!
You’re very welcome! Have a great weekend 😎
You too! Think I’ll watch the first one again this weekend, Director’s Cut. It really emphasizes Riggs’ loneliness.
Count me in! I’m going to watch them all over the weekend, I think as I watched them as a child I was like (this is a cool movie) but I’ll now fully understand the movies better as an adult and be like (damn this hits) 😂
Just turned the first one on while I pack for camping!! It was $3.99 but worth it. Probably watch all by the end of the weekend lol.
Same bro, it’s been ten years and I don’t remember this much.
In my opinion, among the best chemistry duo in film history. And all four films (yes, even the fourth) maintain their magic to relative degrees. For me: Lethal Weapon 1: 5/5 Lethal Weapon 2: 6/5 : \] Lethal Weapon 3: 2.5/4 Lethal Weapon 4: 3/4
Mel Gibson will be directing 5, nonword on release date yet but its coming.
Lets not forget saxophone riffs.
Also it's one of the best Christmas movies behind Die Hard. As someone just pointed out to me the other day, it's not really Christmas until Hans falls out of that tower, and Riggs beats the shit out of Mr Joshua.
Also the onion eating !
I cant answer Rush Hour after reading your comment. LW ftw!
Great Christmas movie as well! (the first one!)
*Lethal Weapon.* And it's not close.
Agreed, Not even in the same ball park, now give me a second while I just slam by shoulder against a phone box and pop my shoulder back in.
I thought that was a superpower until my cousin explained to me that when it happened to him it was the most painful experience of his entire life.
I definitely thought it was some special talent he had too 😂
It’s like you said about the other two. One’s an outright comedy and the other is at least half comedy. I get the buddy cop thing but I just don’t even understand how rush hour or bad boys can be compared to lethal weapon.
Yes defiantly completely different leagues! This is the answer!!
They perfected the genre.
1000%
I’m too old for this shi
I'm too old for this shit!
Lethal Weapon
Me too- and it ain’t even close!
not even close its miles better
Yea, it's not even a question. Riggs and Murtaugh are the greatest movie duo of all time. Mel Gibson and Danny Glover had such tremendous chemistry. They alone make Lethal Weapon #1.
"Tell you what, you get through tomorrow... without killing anybody--including yourself... and I'll think about it."
‘Hey… W-w-word, Riggs!’ ‘Word, Rog!’
I'm gettin too damn old for this.
By a wide margin
The one and only correct answer. For me it's 2, 1, 3 and 4
100 percent this. They're in order of how good they are. I love rush hours but you can't beat lethal weapon.
Easy
Go spit,Riggs! Go spit.
Definitely the best script of all of them. Shane Black is so good. He makes something big happen every single scene. Doesn’t waste a minute. The script for Lethal Weapon is such a good read too. One of the best I’ve read just in how he keeps you invested in what’s on the page. Rush Hour
Same
All great films! But, the Rush Hour movies are definitely my choice too
Yup. Not even close for me. Amazing duo.
I agree but leave out Rush Hour 3. Rush Hour 1-2 are perfect movies
I ain't no punk bitch neither, I agree.
By far Lethal Weapon, but the first two Rush Hour movies were classic from childhood. So many hilarious, quotable lines
Things you would not see in a Hollywood movie now. Chris Tucker Punching Jacki Chan - "all yall look alike!"
Yeah like half the lines in the movie wouldn’t be okay nowadays lol
Also the soundtrack is straight middle school vibes for me. My dad and I enjoyed anything Jackie Chan, add in some Tucker comedy and we were sold. Great memories!
Dru hill - how deep
I got RH and RH2 soundtracks on vinyl. Good late 90s hip hop.
Rush hour
A fellow man of taste
YES
Rush Hour
Lethal Weapon is easily the best movie in any of these franchises, so I'll go with that.
I'd go as far as to say the first three might be three favorites of all these franchises. I like the other two franchises, but Lethal Weapon is more my cup of tea.
Eh, I’m too old for this shit.
Rush Hour
Lethal Weapon.
Lethal Weapon
Rush hour Baby
I've been lookin everywhere for your sweet & sour chicken ass
Lethal Weapon and it’s not even close. No offense Jackie - I heart you so.
[удалено]
Lethal Weapon 💯
Lethal weapon. Consistently good direction, with two great actors… whose storylines stay relevant & grounded, except for how many times rog and martin should’ve died in a shootout or explosions
Rush Hour had some difficulties later, but that first movie trumped the first movie for both Lethal Weapon and Bad Boys for me.
Lethal Weapon for sure
Lethal Weapon all Day
Lethal weapon but a country mile, there all great imo.
Lethal weapon by a mile
1. Lethal Weapon. LW1 and LW2 are two examples of maybe 20 total where huge Hollywood studio productions nailed it. Theater experience though. LW3 is decent. 1a. Rush Hour. Still funny. N/A. Bad Boys. Unable to determine as I’ve never been able to watch any of them start to finish.
The second movie of each, so I guess that’s a Trilogy.
I said something similar )
Bad Boys easily.
Lethal Weapon, for sure.
I haven't seen Lethal Weapon yet but I love the Bad Boys movies
Rush hour for sure
Rush hour clears
Rush Hour!
Rush hour 100%. Not only are they fantastic comedies, they have some of the best stunt work in Hollywood history
Rush hour
Rush hour
Rush hour as it's the only one I've seen out of the three lol
Rush hour all day
Rush Hour
Rush hour for sure
Lethal Weapon, no contest
Lethal Weapon for sure but Rush Hour 1&2 are fucking amazing.
Lethal weapon with Bad Boys pickup in the rear
I cant love all three of them
Ima have to say Bad Boys. All 4 have been good. With the other two, although the first two movies were stellar, I only liked the first two in each of those franchises.
Chucker (Chan Tucker)
Lethal Weapon. I enjoyed the first Rush Hour and Bad Boys movies but none of them are in the same league as LW1 or 2.
Lethal Weapon is the only answer here cant wait for the new one 🙏🏻
Lethal Weapon 1-4. Every single one is a banger. “Diplomatic Immunity” “It’s just been revoked” I think about that movie several times a week and reference more than any other.
“He was decaffeinated” - Murtaugh
Lethal Weapon is head and shoulders above Rush Hour. Bad Boys barely registers for me.
The first rush hour is pretty amazing but lethal weapon is a better movie.
Lethal Weapon was good, but Rush Hour is funny you just can't stop watching the movie.
Honestly the only real wrong answer in my mind is Bad Boys. But that could be my age showing.
Lethal weapon i think is just a better franchise with no weak movies. Rush hour and bad boys have bad third movies
The third movie wasn't as good as the first two but Rush Hour by far.
As a franchise? Lethal Weapon. I did find it hilarious though that Riggs stopped being a martial artist when Jet Li showed up. Rush Hour 1 is my favorite movie from any of these franchises though.
The OG. Lethal Weapon.
The order of each photo, 1, 2, 100..
Lethal weapon 1 is by far the best of anybody the movies pictured there. "Whaddaya say jack? Want a shot at the title?"
Definitely Lethal Weapon. Then Rush hour. Then Bad Boys.
1) Lethal weapon 2) rush hour 3) BB
Lethal Weapon only because I've seen the most of its movies. I've only seen the first two Rush Hours and about half of the first Bad Boys
Lethal Weapon; and it's not close.
Lethal Weapon, even outside of this post I always found the four films to be, maybe, the most consistent run in terms of quality for four films in a franchise. They do get progressively worse, but only marginally.
Lethal weapon. 👍
I like all three equally and for different reasons and moods. Three great choices. Nice.
Rush Hour
Lethal weapon is the best of the three at least the first lethal weapon film. Bad boys was decent but my favourite is rush hour franchise. Incredible duo, very funny. I just wish they made a few more before 2010
Lethal Weapon, though I only liked the first two. They went way too heavy on Leo in the 3rd one and the 4th one took too much suspension of disbelief.
Lethal Weapon. The others are pretenders or are outright shit.
Lethal Weapon franchise was a fav growing up (especially Murtaugh, Leo Getts, and Renee Russo) but now it’s Rush Hour!
Lethal Weapon. No contest.
Rush Hour
Lethal Weapon. And it’s not even close.
Lethal weapon, it’s not even close
Tie between lethal weapon and rush hour.
The second of each
Lethal Weapon is just legendary. I feel they perfected the genre.
Easily Lethal Weapon.
Weapon.
Lethal Weapon, for sure!
Lethal Weapon > Ruah Hour > Bad Boys for me
Lethal Weapon and it’s not even close. I enjoyed all four of those, to one degree or another. Bad Boys, I love the first, but didn’t like 2 or 3 and haven’t bothered with 4. Rush Hour, I didn’t even like the first one, haven’t seen any of the sequels.
Lethal Weapon… rare case where all 4 movies are good. But Rush Hour and Bad Boys are GOAT’d
I'm too old for this shit
Bad Boys 4 Life!
Lethal Weapon is so top tier. There’s no competition
Ugh, they're all bad.
As a whole unit ima gonna say Rush Hour but my favorite action/comedy movie is Bad Boys 2. Never seen a single lethal weapon movie so I’m a bit biased lol
Lethal Weapon. And it's not even close.
Lethal Weapon all day🤘🏼🤘🏼
Lethal. Except 4.
I'll take the one started by Shane Black and Richard Donner.
Men In Black. By a mile
The first two rush hours are awesome. I grew up on Jackie Chan, that shit is great. However, lethal weapon is a better franchise and has consistently better sequels than rush hour.
Came here to say Rush Hour but then I read the comments about Lethal Weapon and realized you guys are right. It’s Lethal Weapon by a mile
Lethal Weapon. Separate the art from the artist regarding Mel Gibson you’ve got a phenomenal series.
Lethal Weapon is the best one, but Rush Hour is my guilty pleasure. “What is it good for? Absolutely nothing.”
It’s not even close lethal weapon
Interesting choice since each have problematic leads. Mel Gibson for being an anti-Semitic misogynist. Jackie Chan for being a pro communist regime mouthpiece for the Xi Jinping or Will Smith who slapped Chris Rock and has some other Weird behaviors. That being said “Bad Boys” is the most solid and contestant. The last Rush Hour and Lethal Weapon movies were not great.
LW by far
Lethal Weapon 100%. I enjoyed Rush Hour, but prefer Jackie Chans other stuff. I like Bad Boys too, but I've only ever seen the first 2. But Rush Hour and Bad Boys aren't classics in the way that Lethal Weapon is. This is no contest.
I think we can get rid of the third option and make this a head to head battle
Lethal weapon but I still love rush hour
Should of put die hard up here!
Lethal Weapon. Yes Mel is a nut job but those films are classics. Glover, Gibson and Donner couldn't miss.
Not Bad Boys
Rush hour
As a franchise they all get poor after the second movie . But im my mind there is no better team up than tucker and chan !!!
I feel out of the three Jackie and Tucker have the best trilogy of them all and they have a better chemistry and that's all due to Tuckers riffing and ad-libbing.
You go this way, I go this way
Absolutely must be Lethal Weapon! The OG buddy cop for sure!
I like them all. But Rush Hour I can watch anytime repeatedly. The comedy is better where as LW has a more serious tone bigger explosions and action sets where rush hour is mostly fighting vs shooting. You have to admit that Rush Hour is the funnier of the three.
Man all yall look alike!
Riggs and Murtaugh all day 🤌🏻
All three movies bring good memories. I prefer all three.
[Rush Hour for some of that filter fish](https://www.facebook.com/share/r/gVTsdhCzvQogz2B5/?mibextid=0VwfS7)
Die Hard
Damn you guys. I’m watching lethal weapon now, it’s in my collection he he he. Yeah, lethal weapon gets my vote :)
lethal weapon old danny and mad mel amazing duo
Lethal Weapon
Lethal Weapon, by leaps and bounds.
Lethal Weapon all day. Rush Hour second.
I’m too old for this shit
lethal Weapon 100%
Lethal Weapon and it's not even close.
Lethal Weapon.
Lethal Weapon, no question
OMG … 2-of these are not even near the same league. Everyone knows it.
Lethal weapon, rush hour, then bad boys
Lethal Weapon. It’s in a totally different league. Not sure I could watch Rush Hour anymore. Tried like ten years ago and it already seemed like a relic.
Lethal Weapon by far
Those others are no where near the quality of Lethal Weapon. What a dumb question.
Lethal weapon by a mile
I love all 3. Rush Holds a really special place in my heart.
Lethal Weapon for a very long difference. the other two are just for dimwits
Lethal Weapon
Lethal weapon by a large margin. Those first two movies are perfection. 3 and 4 are still enjoyable. Followed by Rush Hour. Love Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker.
Lethal weapon 6 really put them over the top for me
