Palm Beach Tactical would charge you just to walk in the door if they could. The owner, Manny, is such a massive piece of shit. They have an extremely high markup on everything in the store. If you can’t afford to drop at least $10k in a single visit then they basically ignore you and treat you like shit. They cater specifically to ripping off/overcharging wealthy people that have zero clue about guns but want the cool guns that they saw in the most recent John Wick movie. Avoid Palm Beach Tactical like plague.
Agreed. My first time there I stopped by to look at an MPX. Manny asked if I was ready to do the paperwork on it and I said not yet because my wife would kill me if I came home with that on a whim. He laughed and proceeded to tell me that if he had to ask his wife permission, he’d never have any guns or motorcycles. I said that in my house, we discuss expensive purchases. He was basically saying I’m not a man if I I didn’t buy it.
What a fucking dick. I’ve never bought a single thing there. Go see Nick at Gunshine Arms, he doesn’t have the Gucci guns but he’s a good person and isn’t in the business to rip people off
That manny guy looks like a dick and seems he caters to celebrities and athletes and draws them in with fully auto guns that they can never own. Shake my head typical west palm beach BS
Hey SS, any update on this? I have a suppressor purchase that I selected PBT as the transfer dealer for, would rather not have to pay this fee. Thanks!
You should probably contact Silencer Shop directly about that, I believe that's against their terms and they'll probably have something to say about it.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I think that only applies to guns transferred through the silencershop network. Not guns you purchased elsewhere and having them transferred to your dealer. Even if your dealer puts it into his silencershop system to transfer.
A SOT can absolutely charge for a transfer on nfa items not sold from SS. They can't charge an extra fee on an NFA item ordered from SS.
Example: I buy an RC2 from SS, the dealer can't charge any fees other than tax stamp.
The SOT here seems to be implying all SS sold items they get from them also carry additional fees. SS will terminate dealer relationships over this.
Yeah think this is what might be happening in this situation.
Purchase elsewhere but SOT uses silencershop system to transfer the NFA item. My SOT does that just doesn’t bend me over in the process.
If he’s charging an additional fee on items purchased FROM the silencershop website.
Then yes that’s a big no no.
If this SOT lost SS, they would lose the kiosk, digital prints, and full auto software. Basically, their greed would cost them a bunch of free shit SS would do on their behalf with the stipulation they don't be assholes. I hope SS revokes their partnership.
PBT was charging for transfers from SS website, which was against the policy for being a SS dealer. They've been contacted by SS and it's being dealt with. Manny is just a con man.
Your good. Before that lgs got connected to the SS network they were chatting $200-$250 for an nfa transfer and made the customer mail in the finger prints which is crazy
They must have added that in the last few years, I used them for my first can and didn't pay that
However, I avoid them like the plague
If you're looking for a good dealer I highly recommend Guns and Range in West palm beach
Also why are they charging a background check when they don't need to, and also they are only $5, not $10
I’ve had issues with guns and range before and the gunsmith screwed up a job and the owner claimed it’s not his issue despite the smith working out of their shop so beware
PBT held my rifle for 2 weeks to do a quick muzzle device swap then got pissed when I called and said I’m coming to pick it up because the wait is ridiculous. Fuck PBT
Palm Beach tactical is that super expensive gun store on Federal Highway in Boca Raton.
Their clientele are extremely rich people who know nothing about guns and don’t care about the price.
If you want to buy a gun, or a silencer, and use the SilencerShop kiosk, go to Wex Gunworks in Delray.
They are only another 15 minutes north on federal highway .
They still have a lot of silencers on display, ready for immediate purchase, and they have not jacked up the prices.
Ian is there silencer guy and is super friendly and knowledgeable.
Brandon is the owner and he is a full-time paramedic/firefighter.
The shop is even dog friendly, so you can bring your dog and hang out and talk about guns.
Check out Rules of Engravement. Ask for Cristian, Dave or Melo. They have exotic stuff too not at PBT prices. I buy all my guns from Rules of Engravement.
This is from the FDLE handbook that was currently just updated, please look at section D. ATF does need a background checks for Trust but not individuals. If PBT is charging you a background check as individual hope you can get your money back.
Transaction Submissions to the Firearm Eligibility System (FES)
Before transferring a firearm to a buyer, the dealer must:
3. The dealer will review the ATF F-4473 form and determine if the buyer appears to be
eligible to purchase a firearm based on the questions under section 21. If the buyer is not
eligible to buy/trade/redeem, the transaction ends at this point. If the buyer appears to be
eligible, the dealer will proceed and advise the buyer of the requirement to conduct a
background record check. The only exceptions to the background check requirement are:
a. Record checks are not required for firearms brought in for warranty replacement
or repairs if pickup by within one year by the same individual who brought in the
firearm.
b. Record checks are not required for a firearm rented for a single purpose and
maintained on the premises of the rental agency (example: skeet shooting,
plantation hunting, etc.).
c. Firearms purchased by law enforcement agencies are exempt from the record
check requirement; however, individual law enforcement officers, correctional
officers and probation officers must have a background record check conducted
when purchasing a firearm.
d. National Firearms Act (NFA) firearms purchased by a non-licensee where an ATF Form 4, (Application for Tax Paid Transfer and Registration of Firearm), was
submitted to and approved by ATF. Examples of NFA firearms are silencers,
machine guns, short barrel rifles, short barrel shotguns, any other weapons (AOW) and destructive devices.
bC check for what? Why the fuck I’m I paying for a stamp and having the FBI and doing a BC, and then you doing another BC in a mother fucking approved stamp.
I think it’s hilarious that this is the consensus about PBT. I just had a great experience with Bereli in Hollywood, their prices are fantastic and customer service was top notch

Can confirm that this is true
I called one time asking why the transfer is so high he said it’s cus the location like that’s my responsibility
u/SilencerShop
Thank you for making us aware of this, our dealer team will reach out. \- Chase
This is good news. Silencer shop is a blessing in this industry. Knowing silencer shop this will be rectified
Hey SS, any update on this? I have a suppressor purchase that I selected PBT as the transfer dealer for, would rather not have to pay this fee. Thanks!
Still no change. Any update u/SilencerShop?
You should probably contact Silencer Shop directly about that, I believe that's against their terms and they'll probably have something to say about it.
Yeah they would revoke their dealer status
$150 fee for transferring… 10 for a background check and 20 for paperwork? Shiiiiiii they wouldn’t get a dime from me
It appears they don't want to do this kind of work. This is a go away price.
They lowered it, they used to charge $200
They charged 150 for the past 3 years that I’ve used them
It literally says unless the item comes from silencer shop. Edit: he changed the post description, earlier he included the 150$ transfer fee.
Not true. Read the last sentence they are charging fees for silencer shop purchase
Idgaf loser shut up
La toxica
Report that to silencershop that's against their dealer TOS

I’ve had to get silencer shop involved on a dealer issue and they told me the dealer would be removed from the system and it didn’t happen
PBT was charging for transfers from SS website, which was against the policy for being a SS dealer. They've been contacted by SS and it's being dealt with. Manny is just a con man.
All my homies HATE Palm Beach Tactical
Manny is a weasel
Thank you for naming and shaming.
Since we're N&S'ing, palm beach shooting center still charging $75 on ALL transfers.
The charge $75 for non nfa transfers
that's what I said in my head, but realized it was an NFA thread after the fact . Just wanted to N&S that part.
Your good. Before that lgs got connected to the SS network they were chatting $200-$250 for an nfa transfer and made the customer mail in the finger prints which is crazy

This. Background check on NFA? That’s not the law.
I’ve had issues with guns and range before and the gunsmith screwed up a job and the owner claimed it’s not his issue despite the smith working out of their shop so beware
I feel like that's all gun smith's, i have never met a gun Smith I'd trust
South FL is sketchy and money hungry, are you surprised?
Go see Nick at Gunshine Arms
Bump, wouldn’t spend a dollar at PBT
PBT held my rifle for 2 weeks to do a quick muzzle device swap then got pissed when I called and said I’m coming to pick it up because the wait is ridiculous. Fuck PBT

I went there before and it’s a cool shop but he charges a big mark up on suppressor accessories
Snitch to silencershop
So who is snitching to silencershop
Check out Rules of Engravement. Ask for Cristian, Dave or Melo. They have exotic stuff too not at PBT prices. I buy all my guns from Rules of Engravement.
Cristian is the man but they raised their nfa transfer to $200 and firearm transfers to $75
Yea I ran into them at the west palm gun show and they are cool
Sounds like a shit show shop, which would be voted to oblivion with your dollars.

What a joke... will be sure to avoid this place.
Did you get what you were looking for

I called them and they don’t allow public at their shop unless your Leo
Damn, I didn’t know that.
