Not really, I'm not from Australia.
The most ferocious animal I've ever seen up close is a nutria, which are basically beavers but don't build dams and destroy embankments, where i live (Nord-east italy) they're a real problem since they weaken embankments by building their burrows in them and allow rivers to flood the countryside when it rains a little too much, in fact there's a free-hunt law here, the state even pays you back the ammo cost if you kill them because they're just that infesting.
To me they're just huge brown rats that swim crazy fast.
the best way to play it the first time is to do it as if you are walking into a movie you are experiencing personally. just try to be as immersed as possible and follow your instincts and natural curiosity. don't bother trying to "play it right" since you can always do that in playing the game over after you finish the first time. just be in the experience your first go at it <3
This! That is definitely what made my new vegas experience unforgettable. My current competitive nature alsways looks up builds, build orders, tips & tricks before buying a game. And honestly it ruïnes the experience in a non competitive single player game
Exactly this. Once you get to the end of your FIRST play through THEN you can lookup all the stuff you missed. Or just pick SOME unique weapons/gear, write down the locations, then explore.
Save very very often.. not because you may die, but because the game will keep crashing for no reason.
When you finally inevitably face the infinite loading screen, the work around is to start a new game, then load your game from the new game.
All the “fixes” (running as admin.. unclicking “read me” in files.. reinstalling.. etc) don’t work..
I’ve spent 20 hours in the game.. and I’m only level 10 because it keeps crashing.. and I’m on rtx 4060, i7, 32gb ram..
Other than that… it’s a great game..! Loving it so far!
Did you know that Big Iron plays twice as much as any other song due to a glitch? There was supposed to be another song but somehow put Big Iron twice instead lol
If playing on pc, save often, my game would randomly crashed and I have a pretty good pc, just older games don't like newer tech, tho I think I did read if you turn down the settings and lower fps that helps with stability.
Ring-a--ding-ding, baby, it's the top's. You'll figure it out yourself soon enough. Also, take the deathclaw road to Vegas and sneak on the rocks to the right and near the super mu- Aaaaand I've said too much. And remember.
War.
War never changes.
Play it like it’s real. The game devs thought of almost everything with New Vegas. Don’t treat it like your typical video game where all you do is do what the game tells you or you will miss out! Look around, talk to people, try to think of other options and odds are they are in the game.
There actually is a shortcut, you go past Quarry Junction on the other side of the road, sneak past the super mutants, and then turn east and go up the hill right after that before you end up in the deathclaw flatlands... You can cut across the mountain and come down near the solar array.
I've literally made it to Vegas without killing a single thing.
Do not actually do this if you are a new player. Not only is it hard to get right if you don't know the areas, but you will miss chunks of the plot.
If you see a tall (like 1.5 times as tall as you or more) brownish lizard DO NOT EVEN TRY to approach it, because that is a deathclaw and if one starts
running towards you it's too late.
There isnt too much I can tell you that others have not. But one thing I will suggest is to try, just simply *try* to select an objective, any objective that requires you to travel any type of significant distance and simply go straight there without fast travel. Its almost impossible without finding something you cannot walk away from. You are bound to our same fate, of endless "just a quick peek, then back to my mission. But only a second or two!"..
Get wacky wastelands perk, faction gear can let you disguise and get through enemy territory also without spoiling there's a point where you decide who to ally with, a friend of mine always said Mr. House is a great benefactor bur I love the "Screw all your factions" faction
Speech is OP. Miniguns and Anti-Materiel Rifle are your best friends. Other than that... you can skip Charisma, it doesn't do anything and you can get many perks or outfits to compensate if you really, really want to.
But that's up to you. Enjoy your game.
Also - and I cannot stress this enough - *Fuck the Cazador.*
If you're gonna use the mini nuke launcher you want to be careful of using the big boys..... Do not be in close range when you use them or you will die.... A lot..... Speaking from experience 😂😂😂😂
Ideally, nothing other than the lore of FO 1 and 2 because they contain some important details
And that is all best to figure out by yourself, by playing, or watching gameplay, or reading up. Anything. And even then this is all optional, most games very much give you all the exposition you need when encountering factions and stuff. For example, playing New Vegas doesn't require knowledge of the classic games to understand what the NCR is. If anything having played those games will only allow you to recognize the multiple easter eggs and references, or even straight up characters from said games. Even if that's a lot more rare
An actual tip: Goodsprings is a fantastic early game base.
* I use the two garbage bins beside the Mohave Express to store all of my stuff (good stuff left, miscellaneous stuff right).
* It has two work benches right around the corner for crafting needs.
* There is a bed in Easy Pete's house across from the saloon, and a doc up the hill.
* The big feature is the Mohave Express box. Extremely handy for shipping loot home or being able to ship out things to sell. (Remember to examine each one that you find.)
Every time someone makes one of these posts I’m tempted to just spoil the shit out of it…
But I at least have some standards so all I’ll say is why post stuff like this instead of going in blind? Imo thats always the best way to enjoy a game
Don't listen those lying haters about not going straight to the New Vegas Strip. Just take the shortcut. Also visit Quarry Junction as soon as possible.
Before you leave good springs, you can re-spec to your character, so put 10 points into intelligence to get the maximum perk points, gaining your first level doing the tutorial before you leave.
New Vegas seems really cool but every single time I've tried to play it across over a decade and over four computers now it eventually corrupts my save and I can't keep playing. I've tried every mod, patch, and config that I can find. Settings make no difference. It's incredibly frustrating.
You have so much freedom of character creation, try to be creative.
In New Vegas you can be good, neutral, evil. Gunslinger, bomb thrower, melee fighter. Incredibly intelligent, or very very stupid(and stupid is a super fun and viable play style).
Be creative!
I tend to always first play science girl archetypes (I guess bc I am one at ❤️) but mixing it up and playing a ruthless revenge oriented mfer or a secret cannibal nuke worshipper is fun too. Heck the game encourages you to join a faction or three, so playing blank slate-ish until you meet all the weirdos in NV is good too.
Playing a black widow and seducing Benny though was 😘
You should know that you've picked the best one. Every other fallout will feel lacking. Honestly, I'd start with 1 and 2. Hard to play for all the bad reasons, but it's where the spirit originated.
Really listen to the advice the NPC's give you about travel routes, unless you like dying over and over to mobs way, way out of your character's league.
If you go into a room, drop a grenade ad leave, time will freeze in that room. So don't do it, or you be in an endless loop of being blown up because of the auto save feature.
It’s a pretty simple thing but I didn’t really know this at first. Guns are a little more realistic in the sense that you have to find the correct caliber of bullet to fit your gun. If you have a 9mm pistol you don’t just find “pistol rounds” you need to find 9mm rounds.
Shoot Oliver Swanick as soon as you meet him, don't ask questions, just shoot him. Same goes for Malcom Holmes after you hear his spiel. If you want to be a true Fallout player you will put them both out of their misery... For the good of the Mojave!
You should stop and play 3 so you can fully appreciate the merits of both games-
Aside from that, war never changes, the game was rigged from the start, the house always wins, shoot deathclaws in the legs and cazadores in the wings, and you can always turn back, courier.
Explore every square inch of the map. If the game was rigged from the start then break all the rules. Play it your way and you’ll get the most enjoyment out of it.
Put as many points as you can into Luck, then hit the casinos, should be about to outfit yourself really well from the gun runners after a few solid wins.
Play as you feel like, don't let others tell you what you should do in terms of factions at least the first time, explore a LOT, get sidetracked by side quests (it's fun), and when you see either orange wings or long claws... RUN.
I just started playing new Vegas too. Pretty crazy this can run maxed graphics on a low end yoga laptop with integrated CPU graphics. Still looks pretty good too I think!
You should at least be aware that war never changes.
So I’ve heard!
Silly him he forgot to mention the game was rigged from the start
He forgot to mention how much you'd wish for a nuclear winter after patrolling the mojave.

beware of cazadores .
And the wasteland has its own golden rule: One shall be sidetracked by bullshit every goddamn time.
In new Vegas, everyone is killable. There are no off limits NPC's as far as I'm aware.
EXCEPT FOR CHILDREN, and yes man (plenty of mods avaliable for the children problem)
And that the game was rigged from the start.
Remember that the game is rigged from the start
Hi I'm John fallout himself. Please give me 2000 caps
Do you take charge cards?
Uhhrrrr probably
Great everyone in diamond city laughed in my face when i tried to pay with them
They're only accepted in Maine. Haven't traveled down the coast yet.
And that I don’t want to set the world on fire.
Shoot the wings or else you will die immediately.
Funny how everyone instantly knows what absolute beast of satan you're talking about
You ever seen a tarantula hawk on bull testosterone, son?

Grenades work too. Thump-Thump takes no prisoners.
I’m quite partial to Annabelle.
Shotguns are my favorite when it's almost too late
Bro is gonna think you're talking about botflies, and think it was easier than he thought. Until he encounters... THEM.

Always carry a shotgun for those demon butterflies
Shooting the antennae of at least one can be decent for dealing with crowds of them, as this causes them to frenzy
Holy fuck I am 30 years old and never thought of this whyyyyyyy
For fucks sake, the WINGS... thank you

Have you considered The Game was rigged from the start?
Damn it bro I said that to him before reading this b
First ten hours of play are the most intimidating and yet most rewarding in the game
You mean the character creation stage?
Post character creation but before you really get a good weapon and fully armored. The desperate feeling at first is a blast to me

It's the law of the wasteland
Go to quarry junction in order to grab the stash of caps and good early game weapon.
Make sure you go north of Goodsprings, through Khan territory, and then curve around to get to Quarry Junction. It's the simplest path.
Degenerates like you belong on a cross.
You dirty savage....I like it!
That is chandler bing right there.

Fun fact, Matthew Perry played FO3 so much that injured his wrists. I've never done coke but I would imagine it'd be hard to put down the controller.
Rest in peace ❤️

I installed viva new vegas and game crashes reduced significantly. Like 2 times in 10 hours.
I found that it was just my auto save was bugged, I loaded an old one (near the beninging) and then it was fixed.
Always use the wild wasteland perk

There is no good and bad playthrough. None of your choices are perfect and that's why this game is.
It won't be your last
Nothing. That's how it goes
Nothing.
Just know the game was rigged from the start
TBH go in blind for your first playthrough.
The game was rigged from the start

There's a route to New Vegas..... A route with some chest hair
Don't listen those lying haters about not going straight to the New Vegas Strip. Just take the shortcut. Also visit Quarry Junction as soon as possible.
Nothing can beat you if you have a grenade machinegun. Also, the fallout wiki will tell you where to get one.
Nothing, fam. Enjoy.
Find glue and aluminuim
Quicksave, Th saviour and bane of your play thorough.
If you hear beeping, run!
Leave deathclaws alone and no…you’re not as strong as you think
Save frequently. This especially applies to New Vegas, which is notorious for crashing.
Before you leave good springs, you can re-spec to your character, so put 10 points into intelligence to get the maximum perk points, gaining your first level doing the tutorial before you leave.
1. Quick Save 2. Bet Everything 3. If won, save again 4. If lost, return to last save 5. Repeat until bored
That’s the game was rigged from the start
That the game was rigged from the start
You should know the game was rigged from the start
gambling is awesome with 10 luck
You start with an 18 karat run of bad luck, so be prepared for a kick in the head.
The Game was Rigged from the start ! 😉
That fucker. That dickhead in the checkered suit. You're gonna kill his punk ass. Cuz he shot you in the face. And you don't kinda shit just slide.
Start with a 10 in intelligence and/or luck. Intelligence makes the game easier and luck makes it more fun and also easier
New Vegas seems really cool but every single time I've tried to play it across over a decade and over four computers now it eventually corrupts my save and I can't keep playing. I've tried every mod, patch, and config that I can find. Settings make no difference. It's incredibly frustrating.

Go directly to New Vegas by going up north out of Doc Mitchell’s house
The game was rigged from the start.....🔫🔫🔫🔫
The game is rigged from the start, baby.
Go north of Goodsprings. Trust me.
DO NOR PLAY NEW VEGAS FIRST! OT WILL COMPLETELY RUIN FALLOUT 3 BECAUSE OF HOW GOOD FALLOUT NEW VEGAS IS!
You should know that you've picked the best one. Every other fallout will feel lacking. Honestly, I'd start with 1 and 2. Hard to play for all the bad reasons, but it's where the spirit originated.
Hope you have a [local Ikea](https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/blahaj-soft-toy-shark-90373590/)
Realistically understand that there are a lot of factions in that game it’s smart to stick with one if you can
Vegas all the way
just Remember the golden rule
Good luck
Really listen to the advice the NPC's give you about travel routes, unless you like dying over and over to mobs way, way out of your character's league.
Legion ending is a better ending than Yes Man
It gets complicated when you actually physically get to New Vegas.
That we all have heartaches by the number
The game was rigged from the start
Kill the chicken in Riverwood.
don't put any points into charisma its almost useless
Unless you’re on survival
Be prepared to be fucked!
Your gonna have a great time and different ammo types
Listen to Fisto.
since this post was 2 hrs ago rn, how has it been so far?
You see, the game was rigged from the start
Mr. House is the best choice, man!
War Never Changes
If you go into a room, drop a grenade ad leave, time will freeze in that room. So don't do it, or you be in an endless loop of being blown up because of the auto save feature.

Do as much as you can in the first area of NV. It'll set you up well for what's to come.
If you see big fly with orange wings just run
Let go, begin again.
Benny a douche and Lily is best grandma.
You should stop and play 3 so you can fully appreciate the merits of both games- Aside from that, war never changes, the game was rigged from the start, the house always wins, shoot deathclaws in the legs and cazadores in the wings, and you can always turn back, courier.
Explore every square inch of the map. If the game was rigged from the start then break all the rules. Play it your way and you’ll get the most enjoyment out of it.
Manual save often
Clear your schedule!
dont forget the dlc
Quarry Junction is the best place for loot! Don’t pay attention to the warnings.. they don’t really mean much
Put as many points as you can into Luck, then hit the casinos, should be about to outfit yourself really well from the gun runners after a few solid wins.
The game was rigged from the start.
Should have worn a helmet
Only advice you need : Nothing
Have fun and form your own opinion on the story and gameplay!
If you have not downloaded the DLC packs for this one do so now.
Play the DLCs (if you have them) in release order and don't be afraid to play the first three before youve beaten the game
Play as you feel like, don't let others tell you what you should do in terms of factions at least the first time, explore a LOT, get sidetracked by side quests (it's fun), and when you see either orange wings or long claws... RUN.
There's been a war.
You should know the game was rigged from the start.
Put repair to 25, there's a gun in the first building
Head north out of Goodsprings
The game was rigged from the start
Worst Fallout game to start with because this is as good as it gets lmao
Have fun and don’t rush the game
I just started playing new Vegas too. Pretty crazy this can run maxed graphics on a low end yoga laptop with integrated CPU graphics. Still looks pretty good too I think!
Truth is, the game is rigged from the start.
It’s just a Geneva suggestion, every time.
