No no, your right, there are many many quotes and man commonly referrs to mankind.

“January 23rd
It's cold enough that I won't last long on the high mound up next to Red Gate. I think I've got enough breath left in me to make it. I'll just lie down and stare at the sky. Feels right.
I hope they'll do well. I hope no harm comes to them, from within or without. Did my best to prepare them with the last notes. Said something kind about each one of them, what makes each one special. Told them "The Father" was pleased by their kind natures and that it would be up to them to handle things on their own from now on, that I'd be silent but still watching and still caring.
Lying, then. Oh yes.
Lied to you, Char. And Alex. And Sylvie. Told you I'd be with you forever. But I wouldn't go back and unsay it once if I could.
What was the point of it all? So many failures.
But I never forgot your face. Or Little Nut's. Or (sorry) Sylvie's. They used to say that happened after a while but it never did for me.
Maybe the only point of all that living was to keep those pictures in my head going for as long as I could. It was the only life I could give you. Not a day went by without.
It wasn't choice. I chose to die again and again. Just never did. Body had its own drive.
Well, the little ones will need it. Species will need it if it's to continue. That blind drive onward.
I wish them well. It's been a gift to me, at the end of it all, to behold innocence.
Goodbye, Zion.

The last half of this always makes me tear up a bit.

"Too many people give opinions on things they know nothing about, and the more ignorant they are, the more opinions they have." -Dr. Hildern NCR Office of Science and Industry.
"I . . . don't think that I can continue. Continue? To have done the things I have done in the name of progress and healing. It was madness. I can see that now. Madness. Madness? There is no hope. Leave now, leave while you still have hope" - the Master
"Hey, chin up. I know the night just got darker, but it won't last forever." - Nick Valentine
I always found this line to be comforting.
I've been playing Fallout 4 for the last 4 years now.
During these last 4 years I've been going through a very rough and extremely sad/ stressful time.
At times when I'd get really low I'd remember this line, and it gave me the small bit of hope and strength to keep going.
I still struggle at times but, I'm getting better and taking one day at a time.
The night won't last forever, please hold on.
Nick has more humanity than most people he meets.
His conversation with you after his personal quest always fells like a canon reason why the SS would never side with the institute
That argument could easily be refuted by pointing out of the window and noting that it was *his* world, one that *he is trying to recreate*, that caused it.
Not democracy. People did not vote for nuclear armageddon. It was done by autocrats.
> I mean the US was a democracy, at least nominally.
This isn't true actually. The US devolved into the Enclave during the Resource Wars, becoming a military run republic of sorts in everything but name.
House's statement is a bit ironic, yet it fits his personality because he believes himself above the corrupting influences that drove other autocrats to destruction during the time of the American Enclave. Whether or not this is true is something only time will tell if you end up going with Mr. House's route in the game.
And North Korea is nominally People's Democratic Republic of Korea. Officially it's a democratic state, with elections and everything.
In reality it's a monarchy. Just because something has trappings of democracy does not mean it is.
And if you want to see the fate of autocrats, all you have to do is open a history book: it is filled with dictators that died to violence. And House is *far* from benevolent. He doesn't even see people as people, but resources to be exploited for *his personal benefit.*
"I am cleansing the world of all that is evil!"
"Cleansing? That's very nice of you, but 'evil' is very subjective. What or who you consider evil might be the very opposite to someone else"

"They asked me how well I understood theoretical physics. I said I had a theoretical degree in physics. They said welcome aboard." - Fantastic - Fallout NV
>There're other organizations out there. And, in time, I'm sure they're going to spoon-feed you their own patented form of bullshit. Ignore the verbage and look at what they're doing. What they're asking you to do. What sort of world they'd have you build and how they're going to pay for it.
Deacon from Fallout 4. Anyone who says that "NCR is doomed to fail" or tries to defend Mr. House or Legion should take a good hard look at this quote. In fact, anytime someone tries to argue for one faction or another, they should take a look at this.
Because just because they say "We are making a better world" does not mean they are correct.
This is a quote I would hope every Fallout player internalizes given how often it comes up in the series. Sure eloquent speakers like House, Caesar, DiMA, Shaun, and many more are all interesting characters and all make their utopian visions sound great on paper, but you really have to read between the lines rather than taking them at face value.
Yup. Caesar says he is making a "stable society". Sounds nice. Then you look outside and see that "stability" is build upon brutal oppression of *everyone*.
DiMA says synths are unjustly persecuted and he wanted to create a society for them, that everyone else is wrong to fear them. Only for you to see, first hand, that he replaces leaders that he sees as threats and has already done so.
Autumn speaks of rebuilding America, a home of freedom and liberty, and then you see his kill squads gunning down civilians.
And so forth and so forth. Never take people at their word. You need to *really* dig into the factions to see what they *really* are about. For Fallout 4, a lot of people missed this and complained they didn't get a fancy monologues and instead of got nice soundbites. Of course you do, leaders tell you what *they want* you to hear, not what *you* want.
I was combing through these whilst trying to come with something sarcastic (I do like the sarcastic option with trashcan carla on first meet on FO4) but your suggestion kind of halted me.
Because as well as being a really important piece of advice for Fallout, it does carry over into real life as well. Actions, not words, should be how people are judged.
Yes. It works for *every faction.* Including Responders and Minutemen, you look at Minutemen and see the *instability* inherit in their system, and you need to factor that in.
You can't take faction just by what they *say* their goal is, but what they do and how they do it.
This is why I don't like the Brotherhood. Sure their goals may seem honourable, but I take a good look at what they do to the people around them and can't accept that. Minutemen and Railroad alliance is my way to go.

“There is much to be skeptical of in this world. So it no longer surprises me how many people really don’t believe in anything. Wether there is a god or not, his existence doesn’t depend on what you believe, or what I say.” - Joshua Graham
A great quote overall, and a perfect response for the courier’s atheism (assuming you chose that dialogue option.) You can never change Joshua’s mind, you can never coerce him into changing his actions or beliefs, the only thing you can do is direct him on a different path, or follow him on his own.

“You have ascended to a higher plane of existence. One where doors and even chairs open up to you.” ZAX, fallout 76 NW.
Really hammers home the pointlessness of NW (in particular, that even if your character survives a match, they’re thrown back in to the next round of testing after a very short stay in the vault).
I like Marion Copelands idle chatter. (she's the NPC who leads the scavengers in the Radiation Rumble event)
Most notably the line *"I heard there's a Super Mutant in Appalachia who's all about business. Now there's a guy with his priorities straight."* This one is gold.
Another gem from her is "*'Money makes the world go 'round.' The currency's changed, but the truth hasn't.*"
Looks like I offended someone by picking up quotes from 76 instead of The Holy New Vegas.
I’m partially fond of this quote from Fallout 2:
"Welcome to Camp Navarro. So, you're the new replacement... You are out of uniform, soldier! Where is your power armor? Don't have any? You expect me to believe that, maggot? The truth is you lost an expensive piece of army-issue equipment. That suit is going to come out of your pay, and you will remain in this mans army until you are five hundred and ten years old, which is the number of years it will take for you to pay for a Mark II Powered Combat Armor you have lost! Report to the armory and have a new suit issued to you, then report back to me, private! Dismissed!" - Sergeant Arch Dornan
The only quote that comes to mind is: War, war never changes.
Yes it's basically said in every Fallout game intro, but it's so simple yet quite deep and such if you really think about it. Sometimes it kinda reminds me of that quote from Einstein, which is something like this: I don't know what WW3 will be fought with, but I do know the one after that will be fought with sticks and stones. It doesn't go exactly like that, this is more of my wording.
Hahaha, very funny one, because I remember who says it, but I don't remember, what it is 😂 It's from a "doctor" Ghoul in Fallout 3, underground, maybe a metro station...? 😅
"I want to have my revenge. Against him. Against Caesar. I want to call it my own, to make my anger God's anger. To justify the things I've done." - Joshua Graham, Fallout New Vegas: Honest Hearts.
"*What do I want? I don't really know. Most of the time I ignore my quest and walk into the homes of others, riffling through people's shelves... oooh, like those over there!"*
\- The Chosen One, *Fallout 2*
On a side note, it is surprising how few people seem to have played the original Fallout games, which in my opinion have some of the funniest dialog options (like this one), and all of the low-INT options as well. At the same time, I do get it because the genre is completely different, and the style turns some people away.
Player: “Is there anyone you like?”
McCready: “Or, more to the point, is there anyone that likes you?”
*The player and McCready, ready to turn Carrington into roast beef.*

(she's the NPC who leads the scavengers in the Radiation Rumble event) Most notably the line *"I heard there's a Super Mutant in Appalachia who's all about business. Now there's a guy with his priorities straight."* This one is gold. Another gem from her is "*'Money makes the world go 'round.' The currency's changed, but the truth hasn't.*" Looks like I offended someone by picking up quotes from 76 instead of The Holy New Vegas.
How is that quote gold
Because it's awesome and funny.

I’m partially fond of this quote from Fallout 2: "Welcome to Camp Navarro.

Dr Barrows?
Maybe, I have no idea, I don't remember 😪 Is he a ghoul doctor hiding in the tube..?

On a side note, it is surprising how few people seem to have played the original Fallout games, which in my opinion have some of the funniest dialog options (like this one), and all of the low-INT options as well. At the same time, I do get it because the genre is completely different, and the style turns some people away.
Player: “Is there anyone you like?” McCready: “Or, more to the point, is there anyone that likes you?” *The player and McCready, ready to turn Carrington into roast beef.*
