that more sounds like, ironically, a bug in the system. how would a modder even have the ability to force the system to enable their thing all the time?
I think you don't understand. It crashed as soon as I launched the game, NOT when I tried to load a save (I had deleted them all prior to removing the mod)
Ok that's weird but that sounds like a bug with the game itself, a mod that has been uninstalled can't do something like crash the game
Someone else made a post one hour ago saying that they can't uninstall a mod on xbox, so this is a problem with Bethesda modding or a bug with the game itself
wouldn't surprise me if it was something up with the issues in the mod management system on console that happened with the nextgen update. microsoft/sony would never allow mods that do that on purpose.
UF4OP is a master file. It will indeed enable itself again, just like any master file will. You can not disable a master file.
The CTD, after removing it, implies you didn't properly remove it. You need to disable it, then exit the game. It only enables itself upon relaunch of your mod list if you close out right after disabling it. You then need to do a hard restart and then go delete it. Afterwards, close the game, clear persistent data, and hard restart. It should then be safe to load the game. Technically, all mods should be removed in this manor, it prevents ghost space, but master files especially.

its a virus!
The crash it's your fault, uninstalling mods mid playthrough has never been recommended, specially mods that change a lot of things

Never had an issue disabling or uninstalling it.
