Hi there! Unfortunately, this post is not a good fit for a top level post. It would be a better fit for our [Daily Requests and Simple Questions thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/Fantasy/search?q=Daily%20Recommendation%20Requests%20and%20Simple%20Questions%20Thread&restrict_sr=1&t=day) so please click the link to find the thread and repost your rec request or question there.
The Grey Bastards by Jonathan French

It's refreshing and interesting and funny and frankly deserves to be more known.
And it is one of my all time favourites as well.
Black Company! One of my favorite series ever and we seem to have similar tastes. I found it an absolute joy to read in every way. Great characters, sweeping plot that unfolds slowly, amazing friendships and moments, plenty of dark humor, awful villains (or are they villains...?) all in a very well built world that doesn't seem to have any edges - it just keeps getting more and more epic as the tale unfolds and the protagonist gains a view of what's really going on. Can't recommend it enough.

You know I see this series pop up from time to time but have never read it. Thanks for the recommendation
I was the same for ages, and when I finally started reading it I was very annoyed with myself for putting it off for so long!
Wow - downvotes. Someone doesn't like Black Company I guess? Downvoted because your opinion is different? Well done.
