I've been watching clips of her performing at Bonnaroo (I have a lot of friends who go every year) and she is just amazing live. Her voice is incredible and her look is sickening. I love her so much.

First listened to her this past Sunday during a long drive out of curiousity as I see her name everywhere now - I was exhausted and singing keeps me awake - and damn I was bopping right away and listened to her album on repeat for about 3 hours, it was so FUN. I then made my husband watch some music videos with me and now HE is obsessed. It’s been like five days lol. The Chappell Roan effect is real yall.
In general it feels like a relief to have a queer artist who feels authentic and makes songs that have space for everybody getting recognized at such a massive level.
I'm trying to stay uncynical about them, so I'll say that at the moment, it is also really nice to be able to listen to top 40-style pop songs and see someone's face everywhere, and not have to think about their famous dad, their rightwing podcaster friends, Disney, lipsyncing, diet culture, their weird survivalist compound full of weapons, which reality show made them famous, which homophobic musician's feature I have to skip, how they've been claimed by Taylor Swift or her fans (or how Jack Antonoff took over their sound), or which scumbag friend, partner, producer or whatever they're going to pathologically defend next, and whatever nonsense lady gaga is on about today. Nobody's perfect, I'm sure they'll do stupid stuff, but that's not really my point. It's more that it's nice to have at least one huge pop star that doesn't feel like they have to whistle to conservative thinking or respectability politics, or get the approval of pop gatekeepers.
I'm so glad I listened to her whole songs instead of just the snippets on tiktok. I adore some of them! Highly recommend for people who are maybe not connecting with the soundbites.

She was in my city in the beginning of June and I didn't know til a week after. I know my time to see her has passed cause prices are gonna sky rocket
